Everlasting System: Changing Stories

Chapter 3 - Second Male Lead

For a week, the young woman stayed, caged in the white room with only the doctors and her mother to accompany her in the day. But she wasn't playing around. No, she was thinking of her next move.

Her goal in this round sounded simple; get the main leads, second lead, and villain to have a happy ending. The main leads, well she had to do nothing with those two. They could take over the world for all she care. But her problem was the second lead and the villain. Who was the villain? And wasn't the second lead her? Why does it feel like there was another person...

Elise: Damn it all! Why did he have to make it difficult? Why on earth did his script only written in her perspective and no one else! It's not like she had a good impact on the story!

While she was silently raging, she missed the footsteps just outside her door. A young man in his early twenties sent the nurses and doctors running behind their tails with his aura only. While his gaze... Many woman had caught his eye and their hearts stopped on that moment. He looked quite thin, but still handsome. He had slightly sunken cheeks, with rimless black glasses that lessened the depth of his gaze. Whirlpools of green took place in his eyes, paired with thin arched brows and a fluff of black hair. He could look like a female if he crossdressed himself, he was both delicate yet strong. Seemingly frail but he had that aura that diminished the thought of him being weak at all. And his charm? You could write a novel with it.

So, as soon as he entered her room, even Elise paused in her rage. Her brown orbs met the lush color of tree leaves.

"Who may you be?" She obviously had difficulties recognizing his face and it frustrated her to no end. She had only recognized her mother from her clothes and elderly but passionate voice. But this man... Why was his presence sent chills down her back as if someone cracked an egg behind her. He was handsome, that much was correct.

"Someone..." His words had some hidden meaning in it, she knew. But before she could ask more senseless questions in a daze, reality struck her. Who... No, why was this man here? Searching through her numerous memories, she was only met with more frustration. Stupid damaged mind. But, what could she do?

"Just someone." He repeated watching as she straightened her back and faced his gaze fearlessly. He had an idea on what was going inside the blonde's head. He tilted his head to the side as he approached her.

"Well someone..." She gnashed her teeth, not the slightest bit interested in playing his 'who am I' games. "You should know that I can call security and tell them that there is a stranger---"

"Security wouldn't dare barge in an untimely manner as long as I am here." He chuckled, his tone unsettling her.

"I'm serious..." She was actually frightened now. Indeed, Delphi couldn't recognize faces and at times can't see them, but she is very sharp. She goes through her daily life as if she wasn't suffering from it... But, this man... Even this body and Elise herself couldn't recognize him. "Who are you---"

"The second male lead."

Elise: F.u.c.k... Second male lead? Someone must be kidding her! How... How did he know that? What mess up game is f.u.c.k.i.n.g Soren playing with her? She... Couldn't have slipped, right?

Meanwhile, the man simply couldn't hold back a laugh. "Mother was right, you're acting weird. So tell me darling, who is this second male lead?" He teased, "Prince Charming in a novel you've been reading?"

"What did Mother say?"

"You kept mumbling... Something about leads and happy ending."

Elise: "..." Well, it was official. She was an idiot.

"Are you my brother?" Delphi asked, confusion riding her mind. He said something about her mother. But, from Delphi's profile that Soren had sent her, she had no brother. Not even a sworn brother as every man she sees she takes a liking to. She didn't know about Delphi's past before she Face Blindness since Soren told her that she should find it herself. So far, it seems as if Delphi Kane wasn't a second lead. Delphi was perhaps just a cannon character. Elise felt pity. It seemed she has a bit of similarity to this character...

"No..." There was cold bitterness in his tone all of a sudden. "I'm your betrothed"

If she was drinking water she'd choke. Betrothed? What!!! No way can that be possible! Even told her that she had no one else, but her family... And she totally did not have a betrothed.
