Harry Potter And The Dual Lord

Chapter 45 - Arthur's intelligence

Henry breathed in and said "He learned of the magical world when he was a kid, but he only learned of our society's workings when you brought him his books. It means he has made his plan in only a few months."

Natasha shook her head and said "That's impossible." Henry smiled "Hard to imagine. So he has either made a plan that is flawed a great deal and he will fail, or…"

Stella, who was silent until now, asked "Or what?"

The two looked at the little girl, they had forgotten she was here. Before the two could act she said "I can hear it, I'm not a baby anymore."

Henry grinned and said "Or he has really made a plan that works. And if he has made one so quickly, then he is so intelligent that failing is impossible. That's why there are only two ends for Arthur. He either succeeds in his plan, or fail miserably, probably dies seeing what he is doing."

Stella covered her mouth with her cute little hands and Natasha said "I think you are wrong. No matter how intelligent someone is, there are things that can't be guessed or planned. A plan that stretches on long period of times fail most of the time."

Henry frowned and said "You are right. And that's why this is all very weird. You know like me he wouldn't take risks for nothing. So he must have showed himself for a reason. But he has so little time to make a plan… He should know that making such a plan is impossible, and no matter how arrogant he is, he doesn't take himself for a god."

What they didn't know was that Arthur didn't get information only a few weeks ago. He knew them since his past life. So he hasn't been scheming for weeks, but indeed for years. He wasn't a god, as they said. But with enough preparation, even a chicken could kill a dragon. If the chicken is intelligent of course. Chickens are dumb. Damn dumb chickens.

Henry sat back on his chair and said "So what is he doing? We know he has acted for a reason, he killed for a reason. But it isn't a part of a big plan of his, it seems impossible. I don't know what to think. But I know what to do. We can't go search for him. The reason he went to Oakshaw was most probably to take a portkey so we wouldn't even find him."

Natasha replied "But we can't just let him out there!" Henry shook his head "Natasha, we must trust him. And he is not in that much danger. A few will chase after him, but even the greatest wizards can be beaten if they are unprepared."

Natasha arms went akimbo as she said "But I still don't like this. When did he become so m.a.t.u.r.e, he shouldn't be dealing with things like those…"

Henry smiled and said "He has always been like this. And you know it. And it's not only bad. You will be able to brag about the boy soon."

Natasha tilted her head and asked "How is that?"

Henry replied "Not only the bounty hunters and those seeking revenge will flock toward him. How do you think the students in Hogwarts will react? And their parents?"

Natasha smiled and said "I get it. It'll be a mess indeed…"

As she said, Britain was going wild right now. If they had the internet, they would be going wild posting their support, anger or curiosity on social medias.

The British wizarding community is small, with only around 3000 wizards, so they don't have much diversity. One hospital, St Mango. One prison, Azkaban. One main newspaper, the Daily Prophet.

That's why almost every wizard reads the Daily Prophet, and because this is a special edition, it was even sent to those who didn't pay for it.

The different households read the paper solemnly. Most were scarred. Voldemort had terrorized them not so long ago, and now another Dark Lord was in the making.

This led to many people directing their fear and anger toward whom they thought to be responsible. Hogwarts. After all, why was Arthur out of school?

This is how the situation outside Hogwarts was. Now, the situation inside Hogwarts wasn't that much different either.

By the time the owls arrived, the students were eating their dinner. When everyone read the news, the reactions were different from their parents.

Some were afraid, for sure, but they were young, and had never really witnessed what war was, even the seventh year.

No, the students were incensed. The first years now had a legit reason to create the organization they made. And this would allow them to recruit even more students, older ones who could teach them better spells.

As for the older students, they were excited because they thought that a new Dark Lord would allow them to fight for justice and righteousness, and maybe even bath in glory if they are the one to defeat him.

After all, they are only kids. They don't know what war does to people. They only see how their headmaster became the Light Lord by beating a Dark Lord, and how Harry Potter became famous for the same reason.

As the students began to burst with excitement, Dumbledore who read the newspaper too, wiped off the conflicted expression on his face and said with an amplified and deafening voice "SILENCE!"

Instantly the hall became silent. Dumbledore had used his mind arts and magic to spread his intent, making all the students shut up without effort.

Dumbledore continued "As you have learned, a student has recently been spotted outside the school. The reason for this is that he has been granted a special scholarship. The staff and I have decided that it would help Mr Grindelwald to allow him to study outside the school for a limited period of time every year. In fact, he isn't the only student who has been allowed this scholarship as Ms Gylys is accompanying him too."

When he was finished the students immediately protested, asking why did Arthur receive this and not them.

Dumbledore added "This is indeed the first time something like this happened. This is the first special scholarship that has ever been granted. The school had recently become a hostile environment to Mr Grindelwald and thus his learning condition have worsened to a point learning here wasn't possible anymore."

The older students became confused, but the first years all knew what Dumbledore was talking about, but none were ashamed. Dumbledore finished with "This Vendetta group that has been created won't be disbanded, Mr Grindelwald even asked us to put as many students as we could in. But fights are still forbidden in these grounds. A new rule has been created and will take effect right now. Duels are now authorized, but only if the duel is supervised by a teacher and approved by another."

The students fighting spirit was incensed and Dumbledore sat back in his chair, looking at his plate thoughtfully. He didn't agree with Arthur's methods as he was against killings, but he knew Arthur well enough to guess what Arthur was doing. He knew the latter wouldn't kill for no reason.

Dumbledore had recorded his statement using a spell, and after some hesitation he sent it to the Daily Prophet. The next morning, his words were making the front page of the Daily Prophet.

Also, by that time the news about Arthur's actions had spread to the entire wizarding world. After all, those were big news. That day, a certain potion maker in Oakshaw earned thousands of Galleons, and not by selling potions.
