Hi I'm Married, But I'm Sleeping With My Boss

Chapter 56 - Searching for daddy

"Hello Sir" Li Na stopped by the cafe again. Haru answered but didn't turn his attention to the girl until he was done attending to the customers that came first, kids her age and some older.

"Yes dear" She puffed her cheeks and lowered her head a bit thinking of what to say. "Do you have a wife?" she blurted out, cheeks turned red because of the words she uttered.

Haru was surprised by the question "Why are you asking? Do you want to be my wife?"

"No Yuck" she spat and Haru laughed it over. "Why are you asking though?"

"I'm searching for my dad..."

"You want me to be your dad?"

"No...yes...I mean...I'm really looking for my dad. I don't know who my father is"

Haru sighed at the confused youngster then pat her head slowly "Sorry but I already have a family. They might not be here with me right now...but some day I'll have them again" Li na felt like she'd hit rock bottom. All her efforts simply went to waste.

"I'm sorry for disturbing" She bowed then turned to leave. Haru knew what he said hurt her but he couldn't play pretend dad to someone else's child when he had kids of his own and the only woman that owned his heart. They were just normal customers to him and he intends to keep it that way.

"I'm sure she'll get over it."

"Daddy is back right?" li hua scoffed at her sister's silly assumption, all level of sarcasm in her voice. Li na didn't answer her sister because she knew she only confronted her to mock her efforts to prove the cafe man could be their long lost father.

"Stop making a fool out of yourself my dear sister"

"I'm not going to give up Li Hua."

"Can't you just forget about him! Mummy is moving on from dad, whoever he is and you continue harming her by bringing him up. Quit being idiotic"

It was causing a rift between the two sisters and Li Na couldn't understand what was going on. "Unlike you, i care about mom and I don't want her to cry anymore. If this makes mummy cry I'll never forgive you" Li hua stormed off leaving her sister in tears.

Li Na only wanted to know the truth. Even if she does find out she wouldn't tell anyone what happened in her mom's life. That's all she wanted and planned. She had no intentions to hurt anyone.

The girls spent their days apart. Hardly said a thing to each other, causing emotional struggles to themselves because of the diverse motives they couldn't agree on.

Meilin had closed from work when she got a text message from Mr Li Wei asking if she was ready for him to pick her up from the office.

He was already close by so she wouldn't need to wait too long to hear the horn of his Mercedes maybach. The woman strutted to meet the new lover she'd been with for over three months.

He got out of the car and grinned as she moved towards him, hands prepared to fold over her nice curves.

She didn't think she'd get to know another man the same way she did with Guiren. Li wei, was one of the sweetest person she's met in five years. A friendly good looking man in his early forties.

They don't know much about their personal life and never asked waiting patiently for the perfect moment to bring it up and the date they planned was a good opportunity.

"Good evening Darling" He greeted pulling her to his c.h.e.s.t hoping to get a kiss but she gave a simple tease. "Not here. co workers are yet to close."

He nodded then proceeded to open the passenger seat for her. The drive was moderate however loaded up with positive feelings and vibes.

In an hour time, he pulled over in front of Xing Zen Eatery and walked hand in hand with her into the large building. Gabs and delicate music filled the splendid Hall loaded up with various individuals Chinese and remote.

Li wei led her to the available table and called for a waiter to attend to his date and also himself.

"Can I have your order?" The waiter stood stiffly in his starched white shirt and black bow-tie as Li Wei read through the menu. Meilin waited for Li wei to pick the food he wanted and she didn't mind to have the same.

The Waiter tapped the mini pad in his hand as Li wei called out the food he seemed to have interest in. Meilin looked around observing the restaurant and the people in it and her eyes finally met with those of the waiter beside their table.

Both their eyes widened in shock and she sat straight pretending like she didn't see him or having the slightest remembrance of who he was.

Haru was embarrassed that she'd seen his downgrade. She wondered why she'd always bump into Haru, why he would always find a way to haunt her and why the world was smaller than the proverbs said it was. There was no escape from him. Even his name was toxic enough for her.

Haru studied the man for a while, bowed then turned to leave.

Li wei noticed her sudden change of attitude and how she moved from time to time from discomfort caused by an issue he didn't know.

"What's wrong darling?" he asked in a soft tone as he placed his hands on her much smaller ones.

"Nothing...it's nothing Mr Li wei" she wavered it with a brief laugh as she smiled planning what to say to hide the fact that she was annoyed and disgusted by Haru's presence.

Haru was hurt seeing her with another man again but he also played along to her game of pretence. She knew him, but she'd acted like she'd never seen him before and looked at him like he was some sort of low life. She was the lady he made love to, framed a solid bond with yet everything broke so easily because of his mistakes.

He didn't want to go back to see her chatting happily with another man. He couldn't stand the jealousy and the envy. He wasn't good at hiding it for too long but he had no other choice. He had to serve them and also collect the pay.

Meilin didn't care if it hurt him, she wanted to have a good time with the man that has proven himself worthy enough to be a father figure in her family.

Haru could only watch. He didn't have the right to confront them. From a CEO to an ordinary server to get additional money for his day by day welfare.

"So Miss Zhao, tell me about yourself" the woman smiled "As you know, I'm a divorcée and a mother of two. All my relationsh.i.p.s didn't end well like I wanted it to. None seem to show a happy ending just like those Disney stories. It left me broken for years, the acc.u.mulated pain and fear of getting involved with another man but over the years I've finally found myself. I'm proud to say I'm not the push around woman of almost eight years ago. I'm an independent, hard working CEO of Empire inc" Li wei applauded her brief description of her life.

Sadly, he couldn't reveal his. He started with a lie and had to end it with one or else he'd be screwed. He was ashamed to tell her about his secret wife, he wanted to but he just wanted to keep the profile of a bachelor for a little longer until he could make people understand the situation that contributed to the lies he had told.

"And as you know. I'm just a simple man, unmarried and ready to mingle" he winked at her and she flashed a smile accompanied with giggles.

"Why'd you wait so long to get involved in a relationship."

"No reason actually. I know it's been almost forty five years but I've actually had experience from other women. Most of them were a disappointment and others weren't really goof enough."

Their chatters went on for ages. They had more deep questions to ask but they kept I to themselves. Li Wei really wanted to know who the father of her children were. Little was hr aware that the man was at the kitchen peeping from a small passage, watching their movements and trying to read their lips.

Once he noticed their plaits were empty, He went back to get the pay. "And what am I supposed to pay" Meilin looked else where as the two men discussed the payment.

"Thanks for coming to Zen" Haru bowed as Li wei got up. The man took hold of his date and walked her to the door. Meilin looked at Haru with the corner of her eye and could see he was still watching them. She leaned into him and he wrapped his arm around her curved side. She was moving on again but he still had little hope that she'd belong to him some day.

Li wei pulled over in front of Meilin's home and got out with her following right behind him. He opened the door for her and they both looked a the clock. Past eleven.

Meilin smiled at the man grateful for the outing he'd planned "Thanks for tonight" she wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him close as she locked her lips with his and he savored the cherry taste of her gloss as he trailed his hands all over her slender back.

Li Na peeped from the corridor a frown on her face as she pondered deeply on why her mother didn't want to be with her real dad and would rather find a replacement. She needed to find him and fix everything before it'll be too late.
