Hi I'm Married, But I'm Sleeping With My Boss

Chapter 70 - Children with so many d.e.s.i.r.es

"Mummy, I want that doll" Meilin pulled on her mother's coat sniffling as she spoke. The elder crouched to her height and smiled "Some day you'll have it but it can't be now. Your father wouldn't want those in the house and you know how he gets whenever he sees you playing" she placed a kiss on her daughter's head then ushered her to keep walking.

It was a cold evening, two days before Christmas. So many errands had to be run, and it was only Mrs Hana Zhao's duty.  "Come on let's go" she urged her daughter to keep on moving and the girl had no other choice. She had her eyes peeled on the showcase glass for a few more seconds before she finally ran to catch up with her mother and prevent herself from getting mixed up with the crowd.

Her mother clutched many plastic bags clearing her path through the bustling road loaded with individuals advancing back home after a lonf day of work. She was running late. She couldn't possibly get home before her husband, she knew she'd get in a lot of trouble for the delay.

"Hurry Meilin we have to get to the train station soon" Meilin nodded panting. They'd been walking for hours but her mother didn't show any signs of stress, maybe it's because she was afraid...afraid to show stress and lose her cool. She was going through alot but pretended like everything was fine.

An hour later they got back. Hana took Meilin straight to her room and asked her to wait patiently for her to come back.  Meilin didn't want to. She waited for a while before she got off her bed and sat on the stair case watching her parents from the rail spaces.

Hana stood with her eyes lowered to her trembling hands as her husband continued to spill out his rage. Even though she was slapped, she still had to stand on her feet because falling would only complicate things. He continued to yell, loud enough for meilin to hear, even from her room.

Meilin was in tears, she didn't like what he was doing to her mother. She didn't know her father personally, but she was aware enough to know about his lover and her half brothers. Her mother wasn't the first, it was more of a marriage bounded by a child.

"What did I do wrong?" Hana asked breaking down to his feet "Why don't you love me? Why do you enjoy seeing your wife in pain?" He crouched to her height and wrapped his hands around her neck tight enough to make her gasp.

"Stop!!!" Meilin threw her shoe at him then ran away. Slammed her door and locked it. What she had done, was a final nail on the head for her mother. The little act of bravery she thought she proved cost her mother a lot but hana was happy to know her daughter would stand up for her anytime anywhere.

"Meilin sweetie" Meilin's eyes opened and she jolted up but once she realised it was her mother she calmed down immediately and wrapped her arms tightly around the weak elder "It's fine. You tried to protect me"

"Tried?" She frowned "my efforts wasn't good enough"

"For a seven year old, that was worthy to be praised" her mother assured her with a smile.

"I love you" hana got off then waved at her daughter before leaving her to sleep again.

When the door shut Hana dropped on her knees, pushed her hands in her jacket pocket's and hauled a little sachet out.

"Who is that girl?" Haru asked his friend while they were running around like boneheads on the play ground. They went here and there aimlessly and ran over to her multiple times. The more they did, the more they could see her cold expression, she looked as if she wasn't alive.

Haru was concerned but his friend waved it off "Forget about her. It doesn't matter. She's one of those odd poor children" haru kept looking then smiled "poor or not...I think she's cute"

"Let's go...before we're tainted with the poor bug" haru nodded but he only moved to the direction of Meilin.

"What's your name?" She didn't answer.

"Why are you sad?" He waited for a reply but he got none.

"Haru!!!"

"Coming" the boy jogged to meet with his friend then waved screaming "I hope we meet again!!! You're cute!!!"

The little girl looked down at what the boy squiggled on the ground with a chalk "Ha-ra?" She couldn't tell the last letter that followed because of the boys handwriting.

She didn't even know what he looked like. Maybe she should've cheered up a little, she actually did need a friend to talk to. Especially when her mom is at the hospital and her dad wouldn't let her go see her.

She was found unconscious after overdosing. She didn't understand any of that,  but the look on her uncle's face was enough to reveal the grave situation.

Meanwhile at The Yang family estate, Haru sat with his relatives to have the evening meal. Well he didn't know the woman and the man seating along side the five children present weren't his biological parents. His real parents, the previous heir Eric Yang and his wife Biyu Tsuyoi Yang passed away when he was just three months. He had no pure memories of them, and even if he had they'd fade away with age.

"Mom" he called whilst chewing with his mouth  opened.

"manners little one" he burped "sorry" his cousin, pretend brother bao face palmed and haru tried to wave off the awkwardness from the atmosphere.

"okay, there's no food in my mouth. All I want to say is that I met a really cute girl and I want to marry her!!!"

The hall was filled with laughter but Haru remained confident about his decision. He was just a ten year old, he didn't know anything yet about love. Young boy had no clue what that was. But he was sure he'd see her some other time, even if they didn't recognize or remember eachother.

"Don't laugh at the little boy. Who knows? Maybe he might meet this girl again in life? You can never tell" his aunt winked at him and he gave her a wide grin.
