Hi I'm Married, But I'm Sleeping With My Boss

Chapter 72 - Your name? my name?

He walked forward to  the shiny pitch black structure at the center of the stage. He ran his fingers across the ivory keys that marched into view as soon as he lifted the lid. He slowly breathed as he look his seat, pulled on his white gloves and adjusted the black bow on his neck.

The hall was quiet and he could feel the piercing gaze of the audience. As he struck the first key, the world started to fade. It was just himself and the piano. There were times when he'd picture the playground girl, and play so peacefully like she was teaching him how to flow.

The music filled the atmosphere, taking with it the souls of the listening atmosphere. His notes were self composed, it was as if he was angry, confused and sad all at the same time. The way he played was amusing, no wonder he gained an international audience. His parents would've been proud.

Eventually he could hear the ovation and he looked over to see the cheering crowd. He got up then bowed, picked up a few roses then exited a stage.

"Haru...my cute haru" his aunt ran to cover up with kisses he'd been trying to evade. "Mom, I'm not a kid" his cheeks slightly reddened but he'd hoped she got the message but she kept cooing and pinching his cheeks.

Once he had the opportunity to escape from her grip, he made his way out of the activity hall to the car parked outside.

He took a deep breath then grabbed his journal and a pen. "How long has it been since that day, just five years? No to me, it feels like decades. I Still try to imagine your face but I can't remember. I ask myself why I still think of you even after these years especially when the chances of us meeting again in this large world is narrow. You don't know my name... Why did you interprete it as hara? Do you still think about me? Would you be able to recognize me" he placed his hand on the windshield then eventually dropped it "What's your name?"

"The annual Quinguang entrance ceremony for 6th graders. We appreciate everyone for choosing us and we promise to take care and build up the kids the way you want"

Meilin looked back at her smiling mother. She wasn't so comfortable in the new environment, she was super excited about her new grade school but she never thought she'd be very anxious. A part of her wanted to run to her mummy in tears but another part didn't want her to embarrass herself on the first day in school.

The hard part was making friends, she didn't know how to do that. She just sat by her corner starring at the window with her hands on her personal journal. The kids had already paired even though they just met. It made her feel unneeded. She went out to walk in the hallway, to look at the library and lab. Maybe she'd find a good hiding place there.

Meilin heard someone crying at the lab. It was the first place she stopped by because she was more attached to sci fi. She saw the head of a girl and the more she walked her body came into full view. She was on a wheel chair.

The girl was startled when meilin knocked over her bottle that she left off beside one of the tables. "Hi" the girl turned her face to a different direction, wiping her tears away. Meilin didn't know what to say, she felt like she'd creeped in on someone's privacy. She wanted to apologize but she didn't know how to handle the embarrassing situation.

"I'm sorry...I shouldn't have come"

"Wait!!!" The girl callecalled Meilin before she could open the door again. "stay with me a little, I'm lonely." Meilin nodded and let her hand of the door knob. She sat down on the floor, letting the back balance against the wooden shelves and observed the silent room with the strange girl.

"why were you crying?"

"You must be new here if you don't know the reason I'm crying."

Meilin titled her head totally perplexed by what she was saying.

The girl sighed "If you don't know already...I'm yunwheel...the girl with four legs and two that aren't working" a tear dropped from her ducts and landed on her clenched fist. Meilin didn't need her to explain she understood completety.

"Whoever named you that must be a very terrible person"

The girl turned to look at Meilin "what's your name?"

"I'm meilin Yee zhao."

"I'll call you Mei" the two girls smiled at eachother but it wasn't too long before Yun began to frown again. "My  mother said knowing each other's names is the beginning of a new friendship!!!"

"Why would you want to be my friend?"

"Because you know my name and I know you're a very nice person. I'll make you happy!" And with that the two girl's bond became strong. They'd always been there for each other even when Yun had doubts but was sure she must've been a burden as they grew older. Even though Meilin hardly complained, Yun thought being pushed around might've been complicated because people were always gossiping about their friendship.

Yun was used to it but she didn't want her friend to be affected by what people said. Meilin wasn't the type to give in to public opinion so easily, she wasn't going to leave Yun behind no matter what.

"We're best friends. We'll stand by eachother's side in times of heartbreak, we'll ease the pain we feel deep down, we'll see ourselves for the human beings we are. Only true friendship requires sacrifice of the self to be real. some friends are for a reason, some are for a season and some are for life" The normal school song about friendship every peptalk session for the young students. Meilin would hold yun's hand even if no one wanted to.

Their friendship was the type that blooms in the middle of their hearts, the type that grows like a seed in a warm soil to a large tree with many ups and downs.

Meilin wasn't all that perfect. Yun would always  stick up for her in front of others, even when she knew Meilin was wrong. Then privately she'd let her know what he really thought and how she should have behaved differently, who she should apologize to, and how to avoid repeating the mistake. Meilin always listened to Yun because she listened to her. They were friends no matter what.

Just like the song said ' some people are friends for a reason, some for season, and some for life '

The twogirl's thought it would also be that way, the two of them for life, but everything changed the day their home room teacher informed the whole class that they'd be having a funeral Memorial of a student. The student was Yun.

Meilin could remember how much she cried right from the moment it was confirmed true. she was never going to see her friend again, and their promise to be friends for ever was broken.

She was sure every single one of the bullies that made fun of her would be happy. Its what they wanted. She didn't didn't care if they'd feel guilt or not, but she hoped karma would hit them hard and Yun's spirit would be able to rest properly.

Meilin dropped off flowers for her friend the day of her memorial and beside her was a boy. She'd never seen him before but he looked like one of those upperclassman and his badge was enough to validate her assumption.

His eyes were red and he had a whole bouquet in his hands. "Who are you?" Meilin asked out of curiosity. Yun never mentioned s  boyfriend, she was the only friend she had in the school.

"I'm Bao...her brother" and that was how she met bao for the first time.
