“But don’t bring the lady to any weird places my brother. Today’s young people, it’s so easy to make a mistake if you’re not careful. Just one time and that’s all you need. Then it’s shackles for life like I did.”

There was no end to the driver’s mouth. From the time he knocked his wife up by accident, then to the time he nearly got accused of cheating with a mistress, he went on and on!

…..

After finally arriving at their destination – the Twilight Central Hospital – Dawn and his two companions couldn’t wait to get off the taxi to ditch this driver. He’s worse than putting up with the public buses. Nevertheless, they couldn’t complain since the driver was a kind guy. Not only did he give them a discount, but he also advised them to be careful at night. That alone was enough to let the three put up a smile as they went their own way.

“Are all modern people this talkative? I feel like he can keep talking for the whole day if we let him.” Shadow asks from one side after waving goodbye to the cab.

“No, it’s just that we met the odd one of the bunch.” Dawn said expressionlessly, which got support from the hamster who nodded vigorously.

“So where is the person we’re picking up? Are there any sign or hint to tell us?” Shadow glanced over to the outpatient entrance and asked.

Dawn replied, “I don’t know. The mission column only stated to this is the place, and that the pendant will give a signal once we get close.”

“So we are going to search this big building?” Shadow looked up and sighed helplessly.

“Unfortunately, that’s a yes, and not only this building but also the other buildings around here belonging to the hospital….” Dawn smiled bitterly and explained how complex hospitals are, “Let’s take our time first and walk around.”

“…hmm, such a big hospital, it’s tiring just thinking about it.” Boink also injects his opinion.

“You’ve been on my shoulder the entire time so why are you tired when you don’t need to walk?”

“Hehe…” Boink laughed awkwardly at being called out and shuts up.

Dawn didn’t press the subject and looked up at the big name at the hospital’s top. For a while, he didn’t move and began reminiscing about the past since it was such a difficult period in his life.

The last time I was here was when my parents got into that car accident….

“So it’s already been a few years since then….” He murmurs.

“Landlord? What did you say?” Shadow asked with a puzzled face.

“Nothing, don’t worry about it.”

By then, the three had already walked into the outpatient building. Due to not having any means to identify the tenant aside from using the pendant, they could only use the most barbaric and fundamental method of searching each floor as a group.

Although the Twilight Central Hospital was huge, an entire afternoon was more than enough time to walk around most of the wards. Whether it be doctors or nurses, or hospitalized patients, they’ve mostly met them all. Unfortunately, no reaction ever came from the pendant despite this fact.

“Landlord, are you sure the person you want to pick up is still in the hospital?” After returning to the starting point, Shadow asked doubtfully because she was wondering if the person had left by now.

“Should be. Look at the prompt from the pendant. It’s still displaying the location as Twilight Central Hospital.”

“But we’ve been on every floor.” Boink also said.

Dawn appears distressed also because he doesn’t know what’s the issue. They’ve been at this for several hours without taking a sip of water. If they continue going up and down like this, it’s evident that it will be a fruitless effort. Thankfully all was not lost. Right as the sun was setting down over the horizon to allow the night to take hold, the pendant finally showed a new hint: an arrow was pointing downwards.
