88.1 Luck and Bad Luck is The Two Sides Of The Same Coin

Anyhow, after discussion with everyone, the blank paper that had the pink-haired girl’s signature was reduced to ashes. In short, we decided to not claim the damage she had caused to us.

Naturally, due to feeling like we had just passed a storm, we were no longer in the mood to continue the flower viewing. Thus, we disbanded the party.

After entrusting the job of taking care the aftermath to our attendants, I went to the cafe’s terrace to enjoy my time with Muriel. Though, it seemed everyone had the same opinion, so in the end we went together there.

Well, since the cafe’s terrace was made to allow the students to enjoy the scenery on the plaza, we could enjoy our flower viewing event from this place too. Alas, many other students thought the same way, so the window-seats were all occupied. We were honestly lucky to find an open seat for all of us.

“Thank you for the hard work, Theodore-sama. I ended up getting flustered back then and unable to think up idea on what to do in that situation,” Muriel said while drinking her tea.

“… If that person is really the one we met a long time ago, I have a lot of things I want to tell her. Yet, in the end, I can’t say anything… but, is she really that person?”

“I’m not sure about that. Personally though, I think she’s indeed that brat from back then. However, there’s no way to confirm it since we lack evidence. Besides, it happened years ago, right?” Richard, who stood behind me, joined in the conversation.

“Just because she confessed that it was her back then when His Highness Elliot asked isn’t enough. Once again, we lack evidence to prove her claim either way. However, since she did confess, it mean we don’t have to waste our time on her anymore. I mean, she might change her confession later on. So, the best choice is not to waste our time with her anymore. It’s possible to restrain her if she’s a mere orphan without background, but we can hardly do that now since she is a baron daughter. Even if that fact doesn’t equal to impossible, we can’t do that for prolonged time… Good grief, we should have gone all out and capture her a long time ago.”

He was really frustrated, I see. Still, I agreed with him about not wasting our time to investigate her past. Right now, what should we focus on was thinking on how to deal with her in the future.

“That pink-haired girl will surely cause many commotions after this. I really want to say we shouldn’t get involved with her, but it shouldn’t be that easy, especially for the girls’ group…. Muriel and the others may be responsible for her now, but please tell me as soon as she does something. I’ll try my best to help.”

“Yes, but Theodore-sama, please don’t burden yourself with this problem. Make sure to talk to me too,” Muriel requested while she clasped my hand, and I knew she was serious about this since she was gripping my hand so strongly.

— White ha~te that pinky~.

The quiet and obedient White suddenly said such a remark, breaking me from the mood. “Oi, stop messing up my moment with Muriel!”

— No… good. She… is cute.

Wait a minute, why did I feel that Black disagree with White’s remark?

— Kuu-chan is so kind. [TL: Ku-chan, black]

— Black may actually be pitying that girl. Her magical power is so distorted after all. Her darkness attribute… seems like it has actually degenerate… right?

White pouted their lips while Yellow tilted their head in confusion.

— Distorted, distorted.

— Disto~.

— Di~s.

Meanwhile, Red, Blue, and Green seemed to agree with Yellow’s analysis.

Anyhow, the avatars of my magical powers seemed like they had grown a little bit in the last six years. For example, Black. Though Black still stuttered with their speech, but they had grown so much to the point they were able to speak now. When I recalled how they were at the beginning, when I was only able to try to understand their intention, I was touched. Their progress truly left me in awe.

Well, Green was as taciturn as usual though.

— Fu~, it may be distorted, but. Hateful thing is still hateful thing.

— Nay hate… her.

“Calm down dudes, don’t fight among yourself. But, I see. Black pity that pink-haired girl, huh. Black is indeed a kind fellow. Still, I agree with White. I also hate that girl.”

— Nay, e-eve… ryone!

Black seemed to be angry, but I wouldn’t back down in this regard. I hate her.

“Is something the matter, Theodore-sama?” Muriel asked while tilting her head adorably.

“Nothing really. I was just charmed by Muriel.”

“Gee~z. Saying such words in the open like this is so embarrassing.”

I didn’t care. Blushing Muriel was so adorable after all. Thus, the flower viewing of that day ended in such fashion.

The school entrance ceremony ended safely. Except for the problem child, who got dragged out by the teachers, everything went without a hitch. The same held true for the self-introduction in the class as well.

Following self-introduction, there was the class meeting held to decide the committee. Well, it was nothing more than choosing class rep, vice class rep, public moral committee, and special event committee though. After all, just like in Japan, not every event needed to have their own committee.

Although the reason here was a bit different. Here, there were attendants who would come forward to make the preparation on our behalf after all. Furthermore, since the academy’s side also employed people to do odd jobs, we didn’t really need to establish committee for every events.

After all, something like beautification committee and rearing committee, which would be responsible for taking care of the plants or pets was pretty much impossible to be establish for the noble daughters or sons. And when it came to health committee… well, for safety sake, the attendants wouldn’t allow anyone to touch their master. When there were problems, after they carried their master all the way to their own room, they would just call the court physician there.

I meant, the academy did employ doctors in case of emergency. However, with the attendants immediately calling the court physicians whenever there was a problem, most of the time they had nothing to do.

Then again, there were some oddball – like me – who would visit the yard where the infirmary was located once in a while. Alas, even then, the most they did was give antiseptic on our wounds.

Richard kept complaining about this matter though. It was just… the infirmary was way closer than my room. So, it was easier to go there for small stuff.

Anyhow, for public moral committee, well… considering the task, there was a need for this committee to be established. I meant, the person in charge of this committee had to warn the student who had caused problem after all, something that was impossible for the attendants to do. Hence, this position must be entrusted to a pair of noble son and daughter of the highest status aside from royalty if we wanted the job to be done properly.

Elliot and Katrina was already our class rep and vice class rep respectively after all, so they couldn’t take the job, and the next highest status were Rex and Shelly. Thus, they took the position of the public moral committee.

Considering Elliot was the crown prince, Katrina and Rex came from ducal house, and Shelly herself came from marquis house, they were elected without problem. Anyway, no one in the class could oppose these fours. Though, it was more like something of a yearly tradition for our group as, ever since we enrolled in the elementary division, those four had always been chosen for the said position.

The reason why we were able to even set up a yearly tradition in the first place was because we always ended up in the same class. Even when there was three class in our year that we could get into.

When I tried to ask Bates, our magic teacher during elementary division, why; he said that the academy had decided that it was easier to put us together in the same class to avoid unnecessary trouble later. It was a reason that I could accept easily for some reason when it was told to me.

Wait, does that mean we’re something akin to a source of trouble in the academy’s eyes?

Anyhow, the last position, the special even committee… in this world, they were something like mediator for special event such as tea party, ball dance, or festival like the saint festival, which incidentally happened in the 1st day of the 5th month.

The odd jobs itself were done by the merchant or the attendants though, while the special committee’s main duty was to prevent chaos by deciding the seating order. It would be horrible if people who couldn’t get along was seated together after all.

Still, the job of seeing who got along with who or vice versa, as well as arranging their seats according to their peerage was an extremely troublesome job. In short, this position was equivalent to being the party’s host in society.

It was a position that I would never take no matter what. I would only do that when I held my own tea party.

Fortunately, Sonie loves this kind position. Thus, she was always more than willing to take the post. Truly, you had my gratitude, Sonia.

On the other hand, Simeon who ended up getting dragged along with her always sulked during this kind of day. He was engaged with Sonia after all, so it was only natural that he should help her. Then again, despite sulking, Simeon still handle this matter flawlessly. So, I figured he actually like doing this kind of job.

Anyhow, that was how the class committee was decided. After it was decided, Katrina then led the discussion about the incoming saint festival.
