I'll Tell You Every Day

The three children walked for a little bit more around the school before Daiyu stopped.

"Jin-gege." She called.

Liu Jin looked back and saw her raising both her arms, asking to be picked up. He bent down and picked her up without question. She then wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulders.

"Xiao Yu, whats wrong?" Zhihao asked as he rubbed her back.

He noticed that Daiyu had become quiet. She was usually bubbly and would excitedly point out all the things she found amusing.

Daiyu shook her head and buried her face deeper onto the nook of Liu Jin's neck. He patted the back of her head in response.

"Are you feeling unwell?" Zhihao asked.

Daiyu shook her head. She took a peek and saw Zhihao's worried faced. She giggled before smiling, her head still resting on Liu Jin's shoulders.

"Daiyu is Daiyu is tired."

Liu Jin smiled.

"Xiao Yu has worked hard."

"Yeah. Good girl." Zhihao gently patted her head and she giggled.

"Why don't we go home for now and return tomorrow? I don't think you'd be able to enjoy the rest of the festival now when you're this tired." Zhihao suggested.

Daiyu hesitated.

"It's okay, Xiao Yu. The sports fest will run for three days. We have two days left." Liu Jin persuaded her.

After a short pause, Daiyu nodded and finally agreed.

Because of her earlier race, Daiyu was tired. Her little legs were sore and she was very sleepy. The only reason why she refused to go home was because she didn't want to part with her big brothers.

"Can can Jin-gege and Zhihao-gege take a nap with Daiyu?" She asked.

"I don't mind." Liu Jin agreed without a second thought.

"I'll skip. Sorry Xiao Yu, but my mom's bringing me out to eat tonight." Zhihao explained.

Victoria was very pleased with his performance earlier and had booked a restaurant to celebrate Zhihao's win with his father.

Daiyu pouted but nodded. She then wriggled out of Liu Jin's arms before tiptoeing to plant a soft kiss on Zhihao's cheek.

"Buhbye, Zhihao-gege." She waved him goodbye before asking Liu Jin to pick her up again.

"Bye Xiao Yu! See you tomorrow!"

On the way home, Daiyu slept in Liu Jin's arms the entire time. She refused to sit down properly and wanted to stay on Liu Jin's lap, her chest facing his chest, her head resting on his shoulders.

Liu Jin didn't mind. In fact, he enjoyed it. Daiyu had become less clingy ever since he moved out of the mansion and it was rare for her to seek out his warmth like this.

Soon, they arrived at the Wang Mansion and Liu Jin gently carried her up to her room. He laid her down on the bed before going to the bathroom. He picked up a towel and filled a basin with water. He then returned to her and started gently wiping her hands, legs, and back. Daiyu had perspired quite a bit and he wanted her to sleep comfortably. He then opened the closet door to look for a change of clothes for her. However, what greeted him next surprised him.

Daiyu kept her drawings clumsily filed inside her closet. When Liu Jin opened the door, they came pouring out, scattering all over the floor. He bent down to pick them up when he noticed their contents. Daiyu had drawn all their memories together. She had also written short descriptions of each event to go with the drawings.

'Today, Daiyu went camping! This is Jin-gege roasting corn for Daiyu. This is Zhihao-gege, going 'OUCH!' because he touched the hot ladle in the curry pot. Uncle Tang said that Daiyu must not grow up to be like Zhihao-gege.'

'Today, Jin-gege bought Daiyu a pink dwess! It has five ribbons and two pockets. Jin-gege said that Daiyu should wear it for our next date. Jin-gege pwomised to bring Daiyu out to eat hot meat buns. Daiyu can't wait!'

'Today, Xiao Nuan-jiejie said that a storm was coming. Daiyu can't visit baby. Hope baby is not scared!'

'Last night, Daiyu visited grandpaw's room! Grandpaw's bed is big and soft and grandpaw reads stories till Daiyu sleeps. Daiyu loves grandpaw.'

'Uncle Tang said he knows how to dance but Uncle Tang won't show Daiyu! Why? Daiyu wants to see!'

'Today, Zhenzhen said that Daiyu is spoiled. Daiyu agwees! Hehehe. But its owkay! Jin-gege said that he loves spoiling Daiyu. Daiyu is lucky~'

"Hehe." Liu Jin giggled. He turned his head and saw Daiyu sleeping peacefully. He got up and gently kissed her forehead.

"Xiao Yu, I'm glad that you're having fun. I hope every day will bring you happiness."

When Daiyu woke up, she found herself alone on the bed. She rubbed the sleep away from her eyes until her vision steadied. In one corner of the room, she saw Liu Jin sitting on the floor, busy with something.

"Jin-gege." She called before crawling out of bed.

"Xiao Yu." He smiled.

"What is Jin-gege doing?" She approached him.

"Here, Xiao Yu!" He then handed her a big notebook.

Daiyu inspected it and was surprised. Her drawings were now neatly compiled. Liu Jin had sorted them and tied them together with a pink ribbon.

"Jin-gege!" Her eyes widened and she squealed in happiness.

"Jin-gege made Daiyu's drawings into a book!"

"Hehe." Liu Jin giggled.

Daiyu tiptoed and kissed his cheek. He blushed before smiling.

"I'll make you a sketchbook next. You can keep it as your diary."

Daiyu shook her head.

"Daiyu wants Daiyu wants to draw a book for baby!"

Liu Jin's eyes widened in surprise.

"Wow. That's a really good idea Xiao Yu!"

"Hehe." She giggled. "Daiyu wants to become a good big sister!"

"I'm sure you will." He smiled at her warmly.

She smiled back at him too.

Just then, he noticed that her cheeks were redder than usual. He placed a hand on her forehead to check her temperature when he noticed that she was having a fever.

"Xiao Yu! You have a fever!" He looked at her worriedly.

"Hehe." She giggled.

"Why are you happy?" He pouted.

"Come now. Let's get you back to bed."

"Daiyu is happy! Jin-gege will not go home tonight!" She was sure that he would take care of her.

He chuckled.

"You do know that you can't attend the festival tomorrow right?"

Daiyu's eyes widened upon her sudden realization.

"N-No!!!"

"That's right. Not until you get better."

"But caf!"

"Not until your fever goes away."

"Jin-gegeeeeeeee!"

"No." Liu Jin then tucked her in bed before going down to fetch her some food and medicine.

The next day, just as Liu Jin expected, Daiyu was not able to attend the festival. Her fever rose and she had to stay in bed the entire day.

She pouted.

"Jin-gege! Daiyu wants caf!" She held his hand and gave him a puppy eyed look.

"No."

Her heart broke. Her Jin-gege was surprisingly strict when it came to her health!

Liu Jin sat next to her bed, busy making her sketchbook.

"If you behave today, maybe you'll recover enough to attend the festival tomorrow."

Daiyu's eyes widened.

"Really?!"

"Mmm." Liu Jin nodded.

"But only if you get better."

"Daiyu will behave! Daiyu will be a good girl! Very good girl!"

He chuckled.

The next day, Daiyu's fever had gone. While Liu Jin was still reluctant to let her out of the house, he couldn't go back on his promise either.

'Fine. I'll just take care of her again if she does get sick.' He decided.

With that, they went to attend the last day of the festival together.

Liu Jin took Daiyu to the caf as promised and Zhihao came with them as well. Liu Jin ordered an iced coffee, some iced caramel macchiato for Zhihao, and a strawberry milkshake for Daiyu.

Daiyu also ordered cakes and made sure to feed Liu Jin and Zhihao a hefty amount. Daiyu wanted to share her happiness with her big brothers. And she was happiest when she ate cakes!

After their visit to the caf, it was finally time for the haunted house.

"Daiyu doesn't want! Daiyu doesn't waaaaaant!"

She used her weight to stop Zhihao from pulling her towards the entrance but Zhihao was stronger.

"It's going to be fun Xiao Yu!"

"Don't force her." Liu Jin sighed.

"Then Xiao Yu, you can wait here outside. Jin and I will come back for you after, okay?"

Daiyu's eyes widened.

"N-no!" She didn't want to go inside but she didn't want to be alone either.

After weighing the choices inside her head, she decided.

Being with Jin-gege was much more important!

"D-Daiyu will go."

"You don't have to force yourself, Xiao Yu." Liu Jin noticed the reluctance in her eyes.

"No! Daiyu will go with Jin-gege!" She clung tightly to his arm.

"Yes! Let's go then!" Zhihao excitedly pushed the two of them inside.

And with that, Daiyu's first haunted house experience began.
