Mirai was inwardly cursing after the discovery, how can she be so careless? On top of that to her own mother! If Thomas was not there to protect the village from stray drows who pursued those evacuees from Ruby Empire, Mirai wouldn't even have her mother's body to mourn on.

She started to realize the drawbacks of being a lone wolf on her past life. She only have herself, nothing and no one to worry about.

But that was a different story from now!

Even though she have literally no connection to Milda, her body does! And the slightest thought of not caring sends a bothering feeling on her mind.

Mirai as a top player created a spare account to experience the battle itself. She knows that the dark elves would slowly devour small empire and cities like Ruby.

For the reason that no big empires wants to act or rather cannot!

The Ruby Empire might be a small city but holds a special role as the trade city for the four big empire and some independent cities around it, the Zemir Empire, closest from the south of the trade city couldn't even act because it might cause a misunderstanding for the other empires. Even though the four empires were bounded by alliance. It would still look like the Zemirians were taking advantage to capture the trade city and merge it to their own empire with the excuse of eradicating the drows. To monopolize the trade system.

Plus the fact that the news of the invasion spread out like a wild fire instantly, other races and nation started to declare wars to each other. Even the four great empire were busy dealing with their own matters!

With the help of the system Mirai quickly learned that Thomas was a peak rank 3 expert Berserker. But doesn't have any magic affinity or class to break through the fourth rank. But his stats was in par to be a Rank 4, specially his strength. A beginner 4 ranker wouldn't even be his match!

The village itself was filled with common residents having only some peak rank one warriors acting as village guards and some mid second ranker as the patrol commanders.

Mirai was searching for a cleric or priest to cure her mother, she believes that Milda's case is curable but requires good amount of money, which the original body of Mirai lacks.

Priest's divine rectification costs too much for a regular commoner as it was a professional skill exclusive only for priests and classes of the likes.

But Mirai already looted 45 gold coins, 5 from the perverted sadist Lauren and 40 from the wicked general's son Morsé, this is equivalent to 4500 silver coins! This amount worths 10 years of a commoner whose earning was at least 40 silver coins a month!

Sadly, Mirai was a little too late, base from what she heard all priests was required to report at the capital of the empire. It was for the preparation for the potential wars between nation. Priests will hold a special role on the backline of each nation!

It was quite unfortunate for Mirai's situation but she did not felt hopeless. She knows this village will try to keep at least a cleric or two and the one who will know where will be no other than Thomas!

Mirai can't rely on her previous memories to deal with this village, but her body's memory might do!

Mirai let out a long sigh and whispered "My bad luck seems to go for a long streak huh?"

A hoarse voice behind Mirai startled her, slowly she looked back and was a little surprise to see whose behind her.

Before Mirai stands a unimaginably tall old man, about seven foot tall. Despite of his long white hair showing glances of his age, his body features was that of a strong young knight. Pairing with his thin sash like white cloth were bulging muscles, spreads on his body were scars of different sizes and length telling the story on the glory of his time.

Behind the old man's broad back withholds a six foot long broadsword, the sword itself was covered with white cloth from tip to the hilt.

"You even got your mother saved from death's call. What's so unlucky about it young miss?" The old man continued.

This is what I called bad luck! Mirai formally bowed but was cussing and screaming inside of her mind.

Of all people, old man Thomas? Mirai thought and sighed. She was just about to make a plan how to approach this mysterious old man, Mirai knows she need to seek informations from Thomas but not this sudden.

But she then realized, might as well grab this opportunity to ask.

"I thank you again Mr Thomas for saving my mother but as you can see.. she's far from being saved."

"I was wondering around the village to look for a priest but it seems that I was a bit too late."

"What a bad luck, right?"

Mirai's voice was a sorrowful one, even old man Thomas shows a glint of pity from his eyes.

Thomas started to rub his chin, trying to analyze Mirai from head to toe. He just can't figure out if this girl was scheming something or not.

To escape death from the massacre in Ruby Empire was quite a big luck or an intriguing feat for a young lady to accomplish. Base from the reports Thomas received, this young lady was accompanied by another girl of his age and was a magician, both were drench with blood. Even thought the two of them said that they escaped Ruby with the help of a knight who sacrificed his life to save them. Thomas still wants to see this girls for himself to judge.

But how can a frail lady like Mirai be someone to scheme? Thomas was relieved, maybe he was just paranoid to suspect even some kids.

"I might be of a help to you you lass." Thomas offered after deducing things on his mind.

Gotcha! Mirai's eyes glows. Never thought you're a softie old man! Mirai quickly raised her head to face Thomas.
