Journey Of The Wand Less Mage

Chapter 15 - Confronted?

Mirai kept her joy inside her, she painted an innocent look on her face and asked Thomas.

"But there were no priests left and if ever there's one out of the village, traveling could just worsen my mother's situation." Mirai frowned, a little bit of shame attacks her pride. Never knew I was an actress how can I be so dishonest! Mirai thought to herself.

"Let us go under my roof first to discuss things. Bring your mother as well." Thomas offered, his kindness was genuine from his calm husky tone.

"Right away Mr Thomas!"

Mirai once again bowed and immediately left.

She felt bad taking advantage from Thomas, but she still got the hatred on his heart. Mirai knows wherever world she goes either from her past life or Sigma, the moment she became soft in life will lead to her doom, might as well be cunning to anyone.

Deep breathes could be heard inside Thomas' room, it was a good sign from Milda that her organs starts to function much better again, the red glow from her skin that was faded a long time ago since her disease started was now starting to paint back on her pale complexion.

At the corner of the room, Mirai let out a sigh of relief. She was watching the whole process of the divine rectification used by the priest to her mother.

"Thank you so much mister Thomas and to you holy priest." Mirai's voice was a very sincere one it was not an act but a genuine thanks from her heart.

"You are welcome young miss, if you wonder why we still have a priest left here on our village was that Friar John was only promoted as a new priest just after the order from the empire came." Thomas replied.

"I will remember this help for as long as I live! Mister Thomas, Friar John, I thank the both of you again." Milda who just recovered from her sickness uttered slowly.

"Mother don't force yourself too—" Mirai was about to reach for her mother when Milda stood up energetically, like a young woman on her teens.

"Don't worry my dear, the divination used by the friar was first class, I felt better like never before." Milda said while stretching her arms. Her liveliness was on top.

Milda can still be considered young from her age and looks, on her early forties she still look like someone who just entered a.d.u.l.t hood, her features was the likes of Mirai. Except for her long black hair and pair of amber eyes. Her body itself denies her age, despite of being sick the curves from her body were on point. Excluding her calm, m.a.t.u.r.e demeanor and some wrinkles that was formed on her forehead one might be fooled if she chose to act as a youngster.

"Do not push yourself to hard sister Milda, even though you feel healthy because of the divine healing still you just recovered from a disease and your body might felt sudden fatigue if you over exert yourself too much." Friar John explained.

"We still want to have a nice chat with the both of you but we still have matters to attend to, other refugees needs some medication from our Friar." Thomas added.

"Sorry for bothering and thank you again mister Thomas, Friar John. Please excuse us." Mirai bowed together with Milda and the two left Thomas' house right after.

Mirai was clinging to her mother's arm, she felt longing for her mother who died early while giving birth to her past life. She never knew how does having a mother feels like.

But beside that she finally understood the significance why do the village of Blue Moss was still standing even on the later parts of the game? How can be this village a minor area on the game? Why do players, even experts missed a lore from one of the pillars of humanity? She thought.

Friar John! When she saw the priest's healing prowess Mirai was doubting to believe it was the exact same Friar John from the game.

On the later stages on the game one of the 8 pillars of Sigma was a peak fourth ranker saint named John!

No wonder why informations about this village was so vague, the mysterious saint originated here! The saint who seldom makes appearance but was a pillar who protected the Zemir and the whole of the South.

From the the lore of John his origin was not mentioned for it was a confidential information, because it holds one of the four astral nodes, the key hole to open the astral gate of the underworld. But now Mirai discovered the node was lying underneath her own foot right now! I wonder how did Saint John manage to suppress his prowess to that of a 3rd ranker.

Saint John! Blue Moss Village!

Mirai was having her thoughts taken reorganizing infos about John, she's still held the arm of her mother whose looking at her calmly from time to time.

When the two reached a chapel like building Milda invited Mirai and the two of them went it.

After Luna's death, chapels and churches's popularity dried up. Most churches and chapel was ghosted without the exception on Blue Moss' chapel.

"Does something bothers you?" Milda broke the silence between her and Mirai.

"Nah, nothing really.." Mirai was caught off guard and was startled by her mother's question.

"My dear, you know I love you and I really thank you for going back for me there." Milda continued

"Hmmm?" Mirai was baffled staring directly on her mother's eyes.

"Who are you?" Milda asked.

Mirai inwardly cussed, she felt some cold sweat rundown from her back. Am I that careless? She thought to herself and bows her head down.

It's only been a couple of day since she transmigrated to this world but she already did ample amounts of mistake.

I might be a legendary player of Sigma but I guess it will not suffice to my lack of social ability, after all I'm just a nerdy who seldom interact with people on my past life. But what if I am a a transmigrator? There's no rule I should kept it only to myself like those novels I've read! Mirai sighed ready to answer Milda's interrogation.

"Mother I—" Mirai was stunned when she raised her head to answer her mother whose smiling genuinely, yet a fleck of tear was casted from the corner of her eyes betrayed her sweet smile.

"Who ever who you are, you're still my daughter, are you?"

Mirai inwardly sighed and nodded from Milda's question. Milda then wiped the tears forming on her eyes and hugged Mirai.

Mirai felt sorry from the fact that she's fooling in a way and also from the fact that she needs to leave Milda and Jil in order to stand on her own footing and fulfill what ever Luna asked her.

And she already found a safe place to leave her mother and friend! Not just a safe place but could be one of the most secured area on Sigma.

Freeing herself from Milda's hug, Mirai straightened herself. "Mother I need to go."

It was Milda's turn to be silent, she stepped backward and observed Mirai from head to toe before smiling again "You 're really a grown up now, I won't ask where, but be sure to be careful and promise to comeback."

Mirai nodded, a child like one. "I promise mother!"

"You go to the inn first and prepare a meal for us, I'll just stroll to breathe some fresh air." says Milda.

"Do not wander to far mother!" Mirai answered and turned to leave Milda.

Milda stared at the slim back of her daughter, Mirai's bouncy blonde hair swings from every step she took. Milda look as far as her daughter's silhouette was out of her sight.

She clenched her hands together and whispered. "You surely grow quick and with a very clear resemblance with your father. Be careful my dear! May the heavens protect you."

"Fino, if you can see her now guide her to safety."
