Little Miss Author

Brian and Lisa returned to the party, and met up with Sophie, Jackson, Tiffany and Max. There they were all chatting, and greeted Lisa when she said, "hi".

"There you are Lisa. Where were you?" Asked Jackson.

"My brother decided to attend this party for some reason so..." Said Lisa as she sighed.

"Your brother sure seems amazing on the outside, but on the inside... Yikes", said Tiffany.

"What's wrong about Lisa's brother?" Asked Brian.

"Her bro is a sis-con", answered Max.

"Okay then... This party is very grand isn't it".

"Of course it is. It's hosted by Philip Lockwood, a boy who has more money than somebody who has worked a middle-class job for their entire life. He's overpowered", said Sophie.

"The only way to escape an invitation is to have something really important happen", said Jackson while remembering cancelling a once in a month lesson with one of his most favourite teacher.

"Honestly can't he send a warnings notice one month prior", mumbled Sophie.

"Well we don't find out who is in the top ten until the first day of school", said Tiffany.

"And it is a good way to meet new people", said Max.

"Yeah, you just have to be careful every second to make sure you don't get on their bad side. I'm going to go and get a drink", said Lisa.

It was time for her to move the story further so when seeing Brittany had returned but Philip hadn't, she got some drinks and she walked near a girl and secretly spilled some water onto the floor. Then she walked up to Brittany and said, "here have a drink".

"Thanks Lisa", smiled Brittany.

Then Lisa played a clip of a ringtone and pretended to pick up the phone, then said, "hello. Oh yeah Katerina Lee is here. Yeah the girl who made that guy become the ceo of that company despite him just graduating fresh from university, it sure is amazing. It seems when she really likes someone she'll help them rise to the top".

Brittany overheard Lisa and her eyes lit up. When Lisa "hung up" Brittany asked her, "who is Katerina Lee?"

"The girl standing over there", answered Lisa who then left and asked one of the servants where Philip was.

The servant said he was with Edward in the garden so Lisa went outside, called Sophie and said, "if you hear somebody shouting please tell me".

"Of course you have done something", sighed Sophie... "There's shouting now".

"Okay thank you".

Lisa then waited a few seconds, then walked up to Philip and Edward and said, "somebody is causing trouble at your party and humiliating your toy- I mean Brittany".

"Why am I not surprised", sighed Philip.

"So you're going to let your Brittany get bullied by someone else".

"Of course not. Let's go Edward".

"I have a feeling Lisa was involved in this somehow, but in the end only I can bully Brittany", said Philip to Edward.

"Why am I friends with you", sighed Edward.

-Inside-

"How dare you! This dress is worth millions!" Said a girl with dirty blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and blindingly bright jewelry.

"Is that an a.d.u.l.t or a student? She is wearing way too much makeup to tell", said Sophie.

"I think she is Katerina Lee. Ranked 10th on the Arts leader board. Apparently she barely got in the top ten by getting 3 more marks than 11th place, but there are many rumors that she will be replaced by 11th place in the next half of the year", replied Jackson.

"Oh her. She got in through visual art, dance and music. She tried drama but failed miserably", said Max.

"That girl is a show off, but is better than Claire. It's her personality and the way she acts is bad", said Tiffany.

"This is going to be interesting..." Muttered Sophie.

Brian just showed a wry smile.

"I am so sorry please forgive me! I will find a way to pay you back", said a scared Brittany.

"Calm down now Katerina. Now is not the time to make a scene", said her father.

"But father! She ruined my dress", w.h.i.n.ed Katerina.

"Don't worry I will buy you a new one even better than the one you currently have. Plus you don't want Philip to see you as an improper lady right?"

"... Fine then".

Katerina straightened her back, and said to Brittany, "feel lucky, but people will in the end ridicule you, a good for nothing who seduced Philip for an invitation. You're nothing but a s.l.u.t".

"I do not appreciate you insulting one of my guests, and are you saying I'm easy to seduce?" Said Philip as he interrupted with an imposing aura.

"Philip... No... It is just how else could she get an invitation..."

"As a friend perhaps? Or am I not allowed to have friends".

"Of course not! It is just why would you become friends with someone like her?"

"Because she is interesting and honest unlike you. That make up makes you look forty and 15 at the same time. Don't think just because you are in the top ten for the arts mean you can do whatever you like. Now it would be great if you and your family left the party. Your family's presence is very unpleasant".

"Wait Philip-".

"Katerina let's just go", said her brother.

The Lee family left with their heads down as whispers filled the hall. Philip soon said, "let's not let that ruin the party, so let's continue like as if nothing ever happened".

The party resumed while the little event was erased from people's mind for a while.

Lisa rejoined her friends, and all but Brian showed a 'WTF' face. She showed a sweet smile, and the others shrugged it off. Throughout the whole party Brittany was always by Philip's side, and was never once separated from him. After that no one dared to step out of line so they ignored Brittany's presence.

Edward tried to approach Lisa several times, but was chased away by Brian who returned to normal when Lisa turned her eyes to him. The friends stuck as a group and met many other people together. All the meanwhile Charles prevented young men from speaking to Lisa, and soon earned the name "The Cute Protective Brother". The fact he was a sis-con still remained a secret.

Once the party was over, and many pictures had been taken with Lisa's dress, they all said goodbye to each other, and Lisa and Charles headed back home.

-Next morning-

Lisa made her way to the dining room and was shocked to see her father at the table. "Dad, what are you doing here?"

"I got myself a day off", replied Lester.

"So that's why you have been working so hard lately".

"Indeed".

Now that Lisa thought about it her family would be rich due to her father's high position in the company if all of it was her father's work and they stopped donating to charity. You see the family donates a large amount of money to charity every month, and since Lester didn't actually get the position through his own work he wasn't paid as much as his co-workers. But thanks to his work ethic and the large amount of work he does he still gets a lot of money, and has some status in society as outsiders don't know the truth. (But the truth is Christine doesn't want her years of freedom to be like the one she had when she still used the McMillan name so Lester agreed on giving away a large amount of his paycheck to charity and the McMillan Group, secretly of course. As a person who donates to charity and helps put in some money for things for the staff he is known as Leon Tasker, the guy many people like).

Lisa gave a big smile to her father and said, "it's awesome you chose to have a day off today".

"It was no problem", smiled Lester.

"Hey why does only father get a smile!" Shouted Charles.

"Yeah why only him?" Asked Christine.

Lisa giggled and they continued the rest of breakfast with high spirits and laughter.

Afterwards they all went to the lounge, turned on the TV and began to talk even more. Lisa checked her phone and saw there was discussion about last night, but there were no photos or videos since nobody dared to take any in the Lockwood Family home. So there was only some of Katerina sitting grumpily in a car while at a red light.

Lisa smiled and was happy the girl got a bit of retribution. Sure Lisa wasn't rich like her other schoolmates, but they still treated her with respect since she is 9th place in intellect, except for Katerina who said Lisa wasn't smart and barely made it in the top ten. Ah the hypocrisy and ignorance. If the others in 11ISC knew this they would certainly be pissed. The others on the intellect leader board would be offended. When you insult a good person who belongs to a special class, their leader board will become your enemy.

[AN: I can't remember if I have already mentioned this but each class has a special code. Year 11 Intellect Special Class is 11ISC, year 12 Business Special Class is 12BSC, etc... Ordinary classes codes depends on the name of their form teacher]

Lisa then checked her social media, and was astonished by all of the new people following her on her public account. The power of famous people and being 9th place. The dress Lisa advertised got a lot of attention; especially when her friends took pictures with her wearing it. Excessive became more popular and the company started to rise.

From Lisa's friend making mission last night she had also got some new requests on her private account from high ranking people.

Lisa patted herself on the back and smiled at the success. Going to that party was worth it. Now her position is even harder to shake.

The rest of day continued with games, food, and happiness.

Lisa's family dropped her off at her apartment at 9 pm, and Lisa did her night routine, then flopped onto her bed and fell asleep.

Once morning came Lisa did her usual routine and headed to school. She felt more stares than usual, but it was expected after the party.

Recently Edward always seemed to be at the school entrance when she arrived. Once greeting her he would either leave with Philip or start a conversation with her. This time he started a conversation.

"You have become a new hot topic lately", said Edward.

"Looks like it", replied Lisa.

"How's that attention?" Asked Philip.

"It's a bit uncomfortable", answered Lisa.

"I'm sure it'll die down soon, but at the same time you're also known as the model for Mary Clansey now so there will still be more focus on you", said Edward.

"I guess that is the price to pay".

"Sorry I'm late", said Brittany as she arrived at the entrance out of breath.

Edward whispered into Lisa's ear saying, "the contract says she must be at school by 8 am".

"Why is that?" Questioned Lisa.

"I don't know. Ask Philip".

"Did you bring the three cups of coffee?" Asked Philip.

"Yes here", said Brittany while holding out a tray with three cups of coffee in it.

"Here", said Philip while giving one to Lisa and Edward.

Lisa decided to look kind and feign ignorance, and ask, "what about Brittany?"

"She didn't buy one for herself so oh well", said Philip.

'It's a good thing people can only see from afar', thought Edward with relief.

Lisa then handed her cup to Brittany and said, "here. I have already had some coffee".

"Are you sure?" Asked Brittany.

"Of course", smiled Lisa.

"Thank you!"

'Perfect. More nice points added to my image', thought Lisa.

"That is very kind of you Lisa", said Philip.

"Friends should be kind to friends. Well unless you're pranking them, then go all out", laughed Lisa.

She also had to remember not to act too innocent otherwise that just ends up suspicious.

"It seems you four have some spare time. Do you all mind helping out with some small chores", smiled Mr Hobson as he appeared out of no where.

"Well I think Brian is calling me", said Lisa while trying to walk away.

"Brian is helping the gardener", said Mr Hobson as he grabbed Lisa's collar, preventing her from walking further.

"Come on you two want to help me right Philip and Edward?"

"No thank you", said the two in sync.

"I'll just use- I mean ask Lisa to do them then. Goodbye".

"Wait-".

Lisa was soon dragged away by Mr Hobson. They ended up in the CCT (creative & critical thinking) classroom.

"Are you picking on me because I am not as powerful as the others", sighed Lisa.

"No, I just have something to ask you", said Mr Hobson as he closed the door.

"And what might that be?" Asked Lisa.

"Why are you so kind... Or..."

"Or..."

"Or are you doing it to benefit yourself".

"Pardon?"

"You heard me clear and well. Miss Tael, I am Brodie Hobson. A man who cannot be fooled so easily".

Lisa hid her nervousness and asked innocently, "sorry but I am afraid I do not understand".

"I just find you have been awfully nice to Brittany ever since the first day of school. I have always wondered why you were so nice to a girl with no relation to you except for going to the same school. You two aren't even on the same leader board".

"Well... I just pity her. After all she seems to have gone through so much so I can't help but be worried for her. After helping her for some time I got used to her presence and found she was really great so I kept her as a friend. It seems you misunderstood my intentions. It is nice to have friends who aren't powerful".

"Oh really... I apologise for saying such things. You don't have to help me for today, but don't think you're safe for now", laughed Mr Hobson.

"Of course. Goodbye".

...

"That girl. It really is hard to tell whether she is lying or not. Maybe she is telling the truth and is one of those rare pure type... I don't know... Who exactly is she?" Said Brodie as he looked at Lisa from the window.

Lisa spent her next two periods with uneasiness. She trusted her acting skills when it came to people besides Mr Hobson. His family is known for being able to separate lies from truth.

The Hobson family whose ancestor founded Wellington Rosalyn College are very well respected for being geniuses. Every single member of the family has always been 1st place on one of the leader boards for at least two years. There have been times where they were accused of cheating, but all were proved wrong. That's how they got the name, the family line of geniuses.

Author: But in the end Lisa is part of the McMillan family whose blood is strong, but even so the Hobsons still pose a large threat. Lisa always loved acting since little and trained a lot, so her game is strong.
