His gaze swept across the dead bodies lying on the cold ground. He sat back in his vehicle and ordered, "Drive back to the company before you go to the hospital and investigate this incident."

Edward nodded his head solemnly.

The cars left one by one. Soon, the whole place came into an eerie silence until two men walked out.

"What should we do now?" his voice trembled as he imagined the consequences.

Noel looked around the place and sighed, "Go back and inform him till then I'll do some cleaning and gathering." Then he walked away.

With no choice left, the man could only go back.

His exquisite facial features were covered with frost as he thought over the incident. His mind was filled with images of her smiling at him. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath to clear her thoughts.

Ever since he saw her four years ago, his heart has been yearning for her presence beside him. Sometimes he would feel mesmerized while contemplating their first meet. Her gaze at that time was spellbinding. While he was recalling the scene in his mind, he realized that her features now looked even more apparent than in the past.

Her lips now were even more soft and rosier while her skin looked paler and body seemed too thin.

While he was mulling over the past, A light knock was heard.

The door was nudged open and his assistant walked in.

"Sir, the information you asked for is inside the report." He placed the report on the table and bowed.

"You may leave."

"Yes." then he pushed the glass door and left the office.

Lifting up the report, he turned the pages and read the content.

'So she's from Country Z.' He thought as his gaze swept across her image before stopping on the boldly printed words.

His calm facade broke and his eyes widened.

'She was the heiress of the Long family?'

The Long Clan was the second biggest after the Roy's. They were associated with both sides of the world. Be it in the business world or the mafia world, they were among the top 3 in the whole Country Z. It was a well-known fact that the daughter of the Long Clan was betrothed to the youngest son of the Roy's since a very young age.

The daughter of the clan was a mysterious individual. She never face her face to the outside world and always kept a low profile. It was rumored that she was an unparalleled beauty with brain. Only a few of them had a chance to meet her. She studied aboard and returned back to the country five years ago. She was also the youngest board member in the Long Groups and a powerful individual.

As he read her details, something caught his eye. Just as said, she was so mysterious that even her real name was unknown to the outside world. Few people who knew her called her 'Eli' while the others followed along.

After reading the contents inside the file, he was even more mesmerized by her capabilities.

Sighing he placed the file back on the table "Anyway, I can't have her." He muttered as the aura around him turned a little melancholic.

Little did he know that in the near future, heavens would personally offer him the chance to meet someone who would cause huge chaos in his life and turn him into a completely different person.

"Sorry, sir but we didn't manage to find any clues. The other party was really cautious, the evidence is either burnt or tampered with." His subordinate explained. Although he sounded calm, his palms were sweating in nervousness.

"Skilled" He only uttered one word before ordering his subordinate to leave.

Sighing in relief, he immediately turned and left.

"How long have you been planning? huh?" He stared at the beautiful portrait of the woman which was placed in her room.

C.a.r.e.s.sing it gently, he spoke softly as if coaxing a little child "Fake assassination to divert my attention, then those mysterious group of people kidnapping you, what else are you hiding from me? Do you know what's the funniest part? Even after staying at the top of the world with my elites, I can't even find a single clue. Just like you've vanished into thin air but don't worry even if I can't find you now, you'll fall into my hands someday eventually." As he spoke his tone got sharper and intimidating.

'and that's when I'll make you pay for leaving me.' He thought.

Looking at the portrait, he chuckled softly.

Now his suspicion grew stronger as he was vaguely able to confirm concerning her position in the mysterious organization.

"So how much longer do I have to stay here?" She asked in a bored way.

"Just a couple of hours," Amy replied in a sweet voice.

"You've been telling me this for a long time now." She sounded even more exhausted now.

"Alright, let me tell you the truth. I'm actually waiting for your assignments." She said seriously.

"My assignments?" Perplexed, she raised her head while her gaze moved back and forth.

"Yes, we'll have to complete a few tasks every day and you'll be rewarded weekly only if you don't miss a single task."

"I see. Now I understand why others say 'Life is a game.' because they've played something as dumb as this their whole life." She giggled.

Rolling her eyes at the young lady, she left.

"Aiya! No one understands my joke." She slightly shook her head and laid back down.

In the master bedroom of a huge mansion

The sleeping figure on the bed slightly shook her finger. Her eyelids fluttered for a long while. She tried hard to open her eyes but she felt something pulling her back and then again she doze off.
