My Princess In The Golden Cage

Chapter 9 - Who exactly is she?

"Sir, I believe she has a connection with that man." He said solemnly.

He lowered his head and pondered over the issue in his mind before raising his head, "Look into their relationship. I want a complete report regarding this matter." His chilly voice made them shudder.

"Yes, sir."

After the meeting, he entered his office and stood in front of the french window with a cigarette between his fingertips while his eyes gazed in the direction of the sea.

'Who exactly is she? What is her relationship with that man? Wife? Lover? Mistress? If not for all these, What crime did she commit to being hunted down by him?'

(Earlier in the day.)

"Slow down a little let them catch up," Ava said before placing her pistol in the holster hidden beneath the long skirt.

"Alright." Curtis followed her instructions.

"Okay everyone, just follow me and act." Just as she finished a black sedan overtook them and blocked their path. A group of men stormed out of the vehicle.

Watching them storming towards the ambulance. She ordered on the device, "As soon as they move to the handle, fire."

Just as their hands touched the door, bullets rained down in their direction from the dark corner of the street.

"Hurry, Hide everyone." One of the men in the group cried out.

The war broke out, sounds of gunshots echoed in the silent street. The war prolonged for a long time. Slowly, the sounds turned faint until no sound was heard.

Just as she was pondering on peeping out, a light knock on the door was heard.

Pulling out her gun from the holster, she nudged the door open.

"Ma'am, everyone's dead." He lowered his head and reported.

"Good, The other-" Just as her lips parted, a loud screech interrupted them. Looking up, she spotted three black sedans halted just near the ambulance.

Watching them stepping out, she quickly entered her acting mode. Grabbing his hand she placed her wrist and screamed.

"Help! Please help! They're trying to take the patient away." Her bewitching eyes welled up with tears.

Inside the ambulance, Everyone stood rooted to the bottom in shock at her abrupt change. All of them were shocked silly but soon woke up from the stupor, Dawson and Stephie stepped out of the ambulance as they raised their hands.

The man who was interrupted in his speech realized the situation and acted along.

"Step back or I'll kill them" He roared as he secretly gestured the men to act along.

"Yes! Yes! We'll move back" Glancing at the hostages, they reluctantly took a step back.

"Put your guns down." He said as he poked the gun on her forehead.

"No! please, don't kill me." Tears trickled down her cheek. She looked pitiful with her pouty little mouth covered behind the mask and her large sparkling eyes arousing a sense of protectiveness in their hearts.

Dawson whispered in a low voice, "Damn! She's so good in her act. If I didn't know any better I would've fallen for her."

Hearing his statement, her elder sister's expression turned a bit ugly.

Ava slightly turned around and gestured them with her hands which were held behind her back. They understood her gesture, Everyone started their act of pleading but among the loud and pitiful screams of people, a strange human mechanical voice resonated in the area.

Everyone turned their head and glanced at the girl in the group who was unaware of the piercing stares directed at her. "Ahh! Ahh! Ahh! Help."

Ava stopped crying and looked at her sister with disdain.

' How ugly?'

Noticing the silence around her, she slowly opened her eyes. As soon as her vision cleared, she saw everyone looking at her with weird stares. Under the numerous stares, her expression remained aloof but her face turned slightly red.

Dawson whispered, "Stephie, it's okay. Don't trouble yourself. We'll scream on your behalf. You just stay quiet."

While everyone was focused on the girl, the man quickly picked the gun up and shot on the wrist of the person who held the young woman captive.

"Ah!" The unexpected yelp brought them out of stupor. She hurriedly turned around as if trying to escape and said in a low voice only audible to them.

"Hold them for a bit until we reach the port. If they capture you, remember to swallow the poison immediately. Act as if you're Ryker's men."

The group of men on the scene rapidly got into action and hid in the surrounding.

Taking the opportunity of the circ.u.mstances, the group hastily climbed in and shut the door before driving away.

The people on the scene fired bullets at each other for a very long time.

The air was filled with the pungent smell of blood and gun powder.

Soon, five to six cars came into their view, just as they were pondering on how to manage the situation, a soft voice rang from the earpiece.

"Destroy the device completely and swallow the poison."

Hearing the command, the man signaled his men. All of them walked out of their hideouts after crushing the devices on the ground.

Facing the group and cold man stepped out of the vehicle, some swallowed the poison while some shot themselves in the head.

Glancing at the number of bodies collapsing on the ground, he frowned and roared, "Don't let them die." but before he could finish, the last person from the group shot himself.

Faraway in the seas, a ship was sailing away from the shores and seemed to be moving in the direction of the horizon.

After driving for a distance, They halted the vehicle in a remote place with no surveillance and ordered the man to drive in the direction of the hospital with another body in the back. After transferring the bodies, they climbed into the other vehicle and drove off to the port.

Since the way to the hospital and port were in the same direction, the chances of suspecting were less. Soon after reaching the port, Ava and Dawson helped the stretcher into the ship and strode her straight towards the cabin.

"What should we do with the vehicle?" Dawson inquired.

"Something that we always do," Curtis said before turning around to leave.

"Sure." Smirking evilly, he walked towards the vehicle.

Later, faraway from the shore just when they were admiring the small bump of red on the horizon seeping its way above in the middle of the ocean, A huge blast attracted their attention.

"Done." Looking at the orange flame burning vigorously, an evil chuckle escaped his lips.

While on the other side,

"Sir, the staff just informed the arrival of the ambulance at the entrance." The assistant sighed in relief.

He hummed in acknowledgment but he felt something amiss at the scene. Uneasiness crept into his heart. Just when he decided not to dwell on it. His phone rang.

"Hello?" His uneasiness grew even stronger after looking at the screen which displayed the personal number of the in-charge doctor on it.

"Sir, She's missing." A nervous voice drifted from the other side. Gulping down a mouthful of saliva, the staff member continued, "And the driver committed suicide."

His blood chilled down and his entire body froze.

Watching his strange reaction, he dialed a number. Soon enough, he froze too.

The assistant shivered violently at the news before peeking towards his boss whose eyes were filled with unspeakable fury and blood l.u.s.t. The dark aura around him not only surprised him but also his staff.

'When was the last time we've ever seen our boss this way? Probably never.'

He was always calm and aloof. He often showed his anger but never revealed his darkest side until now. Looking at their boss, they realized how important the woman was to him and made a mental note in their minds to never offend the lady to be soon.
