My Princess In The Golden Cage

Both of them were busy arguing and didn't notice the presence of another person since they still believed that she would be lying on the bed peacefully just like she had been doing for the past two years.

Reclining against the headboard, she peered at their backs while laughing inwardly in her mind. She found it utterly amusing as she heard them converse in connection with her waking up without even noticing her awaken-self.

"Ava, it's easy for you to say but do you have any idea regarding the situation in City A?" This time Nathan was driven mad at her endless prattle. He really intended to smack her head hard and put some sense into her brain. After the incident, the city fell into huge chaos. The Roy's sent their secret guards with the intention to find their whereabouts.

"What happened?" Ava didn't know anything about the outside world since she just returned after completing her mission which required traveling aboard and to have no connections with the outside world.

"The borders are under the strict monitor. The Roy's have been intending to conquer our territory but didn't manage to. We're lucky enough to have loyal confidants in the region. They stood up for us against his authority. So tell me, you really want to make our presence known to them? Do you want our painstakingly hidden secrets to be exposed? Ava, we've been managing our territory in the dark all these years. We can't afford to lose now." He tried his best to make sense and enunciated every single detail clearly.

Just when she was about to rebut, a hoarse voice echoed inside the room which shocked the two of them to their cores. "He's right. If I were in his place, I would've done the same. The Roy's have no idea about your existence and my connections with you. He only thinks that I'm a mere member of a gang or maybe he might have realized it by now that I hold an important position in some prominent group."

In the past when she planned her escape mission, she was already ascertained of begin found out by him and was also prepared to bear the consequences anytime but who knew that he would be so ignorant enough to not notice the change and her secret identity which she hid from every single person around her until she executed the plan.

Even though she started her point in a loud manner none of them seemed to have heard it. They gazed at her with their eyes wide as if they've seen a ghost. It took them quite a while before coming back to their senses.

Ava turned to look at Nathan and uttered in confusion, "Am I seeing things?"

To which Nathan instantly answered, "Even I have the same feeling."

She raised her hand and pinched his cheek hard and only left after hearing his shriek, "So it's true?"

Just as she realized that it wasn't a dream but reality, tears welled up in the corner of her eyes and trickled down uncontrollably. Without waiting for her to respond, she hurried over to her side and hugged her tightly.

"Aadhya? Are you really awake?" Her voice trembled badly as she spoke to her. The emotions that she surpassed all this while surged out in a minute as she glanced at the fragile body.

The strength she used in her hug was quite huge which almost crumbled her bones. Unable to breathe in her tight embrace, she coughed out loud and pressed her palms on her shoulder before pushing her away in an attempt to free herself from her fatal hug.

Peering at the already weak woman who was being crushed in the embrace, he hurried forward and hit her on her arm.

"Ouch! What's wrong with you?" Ava was instantly infuriated at his unexpected attack and glared at him harshly with a face saying 'Give-a-reasonable-explanation'.

"Are you done? Do you want to kill her? She just woke up and you already planned to crumble her in your embrace?" Nathan rebutted as he glared back at the woman ahead.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I seemed to have lost control over my emotion." She quickly realized her mistake and apologized before standing up by the bedside and said, "Ah? Where's everyone? We need to inform them. Wait for me, I'll be back after informing them." With that, she happily dashed out of the room to find everyone.

"Aadhya? When did you wake up?" He asked gently.

"Just when you left after injecting the medicine in the morning." She replied calmly.

"Do you feel unwell?" He asked in concern.

Sighing at his confidant's behavior, she thought 'Am I made of porcelain?'

"All good, Doc. Now tell me the situation we're in." Just as she finished her body exuded an aura of dominance and power. She didn't look like someone who just woke up from the coma. The aura around was just like it was in the past but there was something new. Right now she had a tinge of mysteriousness around her.

Even though she appeared the same as before she wasn't completely like herself.

Nathan pressed his lips into a thin straight line as if refusing to tell her although he was quite intimidated.

"Nathan, You know me, don't you? Even if you don't tell me now, I still have my ways to get the information I want. Do you want me to use my connections?" She threatened him in a low voice.

Each word she uttered was sharp and powerful.

Being subjected under strong pressure, his legs started to tremble slightly and gulped a mouthful of imaginary saliva. Just as his mouth parted, few hurriedly footsteps resounded outside the room.

Just as imagined a group of four stepped into the room in disbelief, "This means that she wasn't lying?" Dawson was the first person among all the four to speak.

"No." Not only Dawson but also Curtis who was known to be the most rational and calm in the group was also behaving in a strange way. His mind and heart were in chaos.

Looking at their dumbfounded expressions, she sighed and said, "If you're done fawning, Can we get down to business?" She said calmly after sipping down the water left in the glass.

Just as she finished her words, everyone's face changed slightly.

Examining the abrupt change in their behavior, she stated sternly " Do not try to hide any of the work-related matters from me."
