My Princess In The Golden Cage

Chapter 8 - Away from his clutches.

Onboard, they stood near the window and watched the sunrise from its horizon.

"Ava, I didn't expect you to be so talented in acting." Dawson gaped at her in admiration.

Flipping her hair arrogantly and replied, "Of course I am or how else would I've been able to grab the title of little seductress."

Stephie sighed in frustration and walked away but paused when she heard something.

"So, who do you think is the best? Me or my sister?" She lifted her chin very high as if she was aiming for the sky.

"ah...? This...?" He glanced at her in uncertainty as his sight shifted at the shadow of another female cast upon the floor. He gulped down a mouth full of saliva before returning his gaze back to the lady.

'*SIGH* I'd die if I answer wrongly' he wondered if he could just jump out of the ship.

His gaze traveled back and forth from the woman to the shadow.

Chuckling awkwardly, he said, "I think Nathan is."

Just then Nathan walked in, hearing him mention his name. His eyes darted to look at his face then he clicked his tongue in annoyance, "Dawson, don't pull me in this. I know that you're into me but you can't drag me in everything." Then he nonchalantly took a seat.

The man called Nathan had decent looks and was specialized in medicines. He was a well-known man in both the medical world and the underworld. Although he lacked in the martial arts department, he was still very knowledgeable and efficient in collecting information.

"Damn! You...!" He ran towards him and started brawling.

"Shhh! Dawson? How old are you? Can't you see that I'm sleeping?" Another young man named Glenn said with his head peeking out slightly from his blanket. He looked fair and tall just like a model but wasn't someone to be underestimated. He was the second most powerful assassin in the mercenary world and also the most handsome guy in their industry.

"Alright, everyone! Let's get serious now." Curtis sauntered inside the cabin. He glanced at the childish man, who was brawling with disdain.

To be precise, he was trying to brawl while the other man just sat there with a pillow in his hand pressing against the other man's c.h.e.s.t.

Hearing the second leader-in-command, everyone straightened their backs and turned to look at him.

"As you all know that it's unsafe for our leader to stay in here anymore, we'll be moving out of the country. First, we're traveling to city A and then to the Imperial city. Also, be careful, do not leave any tracks behind. It's already been very difficult for us to get her out of his hold and now if he finds out, it would also cost our lives." His gaze swept across their faces and said in a solemn manner.

"Don't worry, everything will be alright." Nathan was the first one to voice out among the people in their group.

As if trying to explain the same thing, they all nodded in agreement.

Curtis hummed in response before leaving the place.

Halting the car by the woods, he got down to be informed of her successful attempt.

"How the hell did they escape?" Ryker flew into a fit of rage and kicked the man faraway.

Watching the man being kicked off, everyone took a step back subconsciously.

"They weren't from the other team. I've checked." Noel strode towards him with his usual poker face.

"Who killed my men?" He was fuming.

"The CEO of Spring Groups and He's also the eldest son of the Yazi household. You know how powerful the Yazi's from the Imperial City is right? They own half of the assets in this city and its outskirts. They're very influential and possess a deep history. It's better if we don't bring trouble upon ourselves since this is not our territory and from what I know he wanted to protect her to repay his debt since she saved him earlier on the battleground." He replied nonchalantly while pondering over a few things in his mind.

"Alright. Let's not pursue this matter for now" He felt somewhat relieved after discovering that it was all because of debt and not anything else. He didn't care about the men he lost in the fight but the woman who escaped from his grasp. To him, they were merely tools while she was his craving who slowly whirled like a tornado and wreaked havoc in his life.

She slowly crept into his heart as she breached his cold barriers. The time when he realized his feelings for her, he wanted to give her everything and live happily with her. If only the tragedy in the past wouldn't have occurred.

He loved her yet he couldn't love her. She was his savior and also his life destructor. She was his antidote and also the most fatal poison.

'How complicated is my life?' The corners of his lips curled up slightly in despair.

"Find out about those people. We'll get her back next time." the warmth and gentleness in his eyes from earlier disappeared without a trace as if it was just a mere imagination.

"Sir, we've been used." The assistant came forward and reported with a solemn expression.

His hands clutched into tight fists while his knuckles turned pale white. The temperature in the was suffocatingly cold.

The members in the room grew silent. No one spoke and only looked at their boss before lowering their heads.

Does he have facial paralysis? And Why was he radiating such a cold and desolated aura as if he's not here for a meeting but a funeral instead?

They had their own questions in mind but didn't dare to voice out since their boss was in a pretty bad mood from the time he stepped out of the car.

"Find out about the other party that was killed by our men." His cold demonic voice resonated in the entire room.

Everyone in the room lowered their heads, even more, not daring to look up as they were afraid of their boss's wrath.

"Ryker Roy's, sir." He said in a strange voice.

as soon as he finished, few people abruptly stood up from their seats. The name was intimidating just like the man and a great taboo. He was a well-known and youngest mafia boss in the history.

At the age of 10, after his parents died, he took over the responsibility of the clan. Currently, he ruled the whole of Country Z, most parts of Europe and the middle east. He was a legend in the netherworld. His actions were usually ruthless, unpredictable and had a weird temper.
