My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

Jess was now his personal secretary. She could do nothing but nod in agreement. He was her boss; after all, she could not just say him no.

John looked at her helpless expression and laughed. "Hmm. This is indeed a good way to make you listen to me"

Jess looked at him with an amused expression then shook her head.

"If there is nothing else, I will go then"

John wanted to spend more time with her. He wanted to know her better. To do so what was better than being with her all day long? They could learn more about each other this way.

John nodded and started working. The rest of the day was not eventful.

In the evening just as the schedule was planned by Jess, they went out for sighting the plot. The company was working with Green Group to build a housing estate by the lake. Its target customers were working-class people who could not afford luxury apartments. He wanted to provide luxury housing estates to such people at lower rates.

Jessica loved the concept of the project a lot. She had done some research work on the project and found out all the major issues, advantages and solutions about the said plot of land.

As they walked along the path, she told him about her report, the project manager and related staff members listened and put forth their vision and opinion as well.

After a long time, they ended the meeting and he asked the architects and project manager to start making a building plan as per the discussion.

The workers left leaving Jess and John behind. Jess was looking at the beautiful scenery, the sun setting over the lake, filling the sky with beautiful shades of orange and purple. John was talking with business partners on a call about the project; he turned and looked at her enjoying the view.

"Yes, let's meet next week with the preliminary designs. Hmm... Okay"

He ended the call and went beside her. "Love the view?"

Without looking away she replied, "Hmm... I love watching the sunset, especially here over the lake it looks even more beautiful"

After some time she continued, "I always wanted to live by the lake, a beautiful sunset I could enjoy from the balcony of my room, sitting in a large swing, having hot chocolate. Yummy and peaceful"

"And what about me? Am I not there in your beautiful vision?"

Jess, when thought about his words, closed her eyes and tried to think about it. She saw that in the swing she was in arms of John, cuddling him and sharing hot chocolate with him. She immediately opened her eyes and her ears had a tinge of red.

"No. You are not there. It is getting late, we should head back"

He laughed but didn't expose her. He nodded in agreement and followed her back to the car. Mr. Cox had already gone back to the company saying that he had other matters he had to look into. John asked her about his schedule. She checked and told him that there was no other agenda for the day. He offered to send her home.

The ride back home was peaceful with them enjoying some songs on the radio. They would sometimes talk about matters related to work. They soon reached her condo.

She reached out and opens the door.

"Thank you for today. See you at the office tomorrow. Goodnight"

John: "Goodnight. Meet you at the office. Bye" He wanted to say something more but chose against it.

She smiled and went inside her building. He didn't leave the place until he saw her switch on the lights of her condo. After making sure she was okay, he left the place.

Jess had just entered her apartment, went to her windows to pull the curtains when she saw that his car was still there. He left the left after some time. She felt happy. She liked the little efforts he made for her. She decided to treat him better, try to, and not think about her bad past.
