My Ultimate Ambition

Done with the necessary preparations, Yoona left with her maidservant to greet her parents.She decided to greet her father first before proceeding to her mom's courtyard to greet her.

She went there and found out that her mother's personal servants were there whispering something to themselves and looking at her dad's room.

Walking stealthily, she grabbed one the younger servants in her age bracket playfully and asked her to tell her what they were gossiping about.

The young maiden also didn't know what the older servants were talking about, the only thing she knows is that the old master and madam are still in the room probably still sleeping.

Yoona getting a hint ,made to turn back and head to the kitchen to cook something for them but stopped in her tracks when she heard her mother ordering that bathing water be prepared for them.

She discarded her later decision to follow the former one of greeting her parents to show her filial piety. She announced her presence and was ushered in where she met the swollen eyes of her parents, an indication that they had a short or sleepless night.

Seeing that their child was scrutinizing them, mother Kim blushed while father Kim cleared his throat nervously. Yoona asked them worriedly if they didn't get enough sleep last night but father Kim told her they slept very well, in fact, the swollen eyes was as a result of oversleeping, mother Kim blushed harder at her husband's explanation but kept quiet to observe her daughter's face.

Convinced in her own way that her father was telling the truth, she greeted them and asked for their permission to leave the house and go on an outing with her maidservant.

"No way!... you are not going anywhere"

Like a thunderstorm, mother Kim that looked like a mute earlier on , roared when she heard her daughter's word. She will never allow Yoona to leave the house again until she gets a confirmation from the shaman to do otherwise.

Both father and daughter were dumbfounded when they heard her roar like a wounded lioness protecting her cub from the hyenas.

Father Kim understood her fear but Yoona was the only one still in the dark, perhaps,if she had known, she would have just laid back on her bed and slept the day away to avoid the brewing storm.

Yoona almost cried a river when she heard both her mother's tone of speech and content of speech. She begged her mother to let her go as she had missed going out ever since she had gone to learn culinary skills .

Mother Kim softened down a little bit but still vehemently opposed her going out, insisting that she would accompany her later on. Crying for real now, Yoona shook her head and told her that if she goes with her , she would complain about tiredness as she has so many places to go.

"Then you are not serious... I won't allow you to go anywhere without me"

Mother Kim sounded like a clingy housewife and stood her ground.

"Hey! It's going to be alright... allow her to go"

" But...."

"I will assign someone to go with her and protect her... everything is going to be alright"

Suppressed by her husband's promise and her child's pitiful face, mother Kim finally gave in on the condition that Yoona goes with her maidservants(Seohwa and one other person) and two guards.

After a heated debate, it boiled down to only Seohwa and one guard, mother Kim reluctantly agreed to her child's request pending the reason that she doesn't want to bring any attention to herself.

Everyone happy except mother Kim who is still skeptical about the whole arrangement, proceeded to the dinning room to have breakfast.

Jae-hyuk, who had been sleeping met them there and greeted their parents. Breakfast began and ended amidst laughter erupting due to the joke jae-hyuk told them.

Jae-hyuk teased her sister,

"Hey l heard you are going out today to meet your lover"

Thinking that she had been caught by her brother, Yoona almost puked blood and cursed her sly and cunning brother while mother Kim tightened her hands on her dress while looking at her only daughter.

Seeing the shocked expression on her mother and sister's face , he couldn't help but laugh out loud. He thought that they were shocked because he mentioned an o.b.s.c.e.n.e topic but didn't know that they shocked due to fear and guilt respectively.

Trying to amend the awkward situation, he told them that he was only joking and the duo sighed in relief.Seeing their relieved face, he almost drowned in laughter.

"Mother... Yoona, you both looked cute with your earlier expression"

Both mother and child jumped on him and beat him mercilessly for stirring up their poor heart ,while their father just sipped his tea silently while observing them, as if he could not contain himself any longer, he joined the mother and child in the playful beating of his eldest son amidst laughter.

"You stupid son of mine, you almost gave me a heart attack"

*Beating continues*

If they had paused and observed this day, perhaps they would have noticed that they were way too happy ,reminding you of the calm before a storm but they weren't that sane hence they didn't notice it would be the last time for such happy occasion.

Done with breakfast, everyone went to their respective rooms to plan their day.

Jae joon was chosen as the bodyguard as he was well versed in martial arts and assassination, and can handle more than 20 men at once.

He joined the young miss as a shadow while observing the other girl that made him crazy earlier that morning.

He was very happy when the old master ordered him to shadow the young miss, but his happiness expanded when the young miss enthusiastically agreed and even personally brought a cloth she wants him to put on with her maidservant. He made a vow to follow her all through his life while serving closely alongside her cute maidservant.

Looking at the beautiful cloth in his hands, he smiled cheerfully, in all the 15 years of his life, this is the first time anyone is gifting him anything .

With every preparation for the outing done, they headed to their doom with smiles plastered on their faces .
