One Piece: The Power System

Rein readied his sword, his heart was racing but he felt an unknown confidence in himself that conquered his fear. Luffy ran with all his might but the boar was gaining on him. Luffy thought he was running fast but he was slow as hell in all actuality.

Just as the boar was about to chomp down on Luffy, Luffy changed his position which slowed the boar down a bit. Luffy, seeing the incoming trap, immediately ran around the trap. The boar charged right into the trap and suddenly it collapsed!

Boom!

A little dust cloud appeared once the boar came crashing down.

"EKKKKK!" The boar screamed in pain, sadly for this boar, one of its front legs had been broken from the fall which was totally out of Rein's calculations. Rein's facial expression was livid and he ran toward the boar that was roaring in pain.

"Haha, Nothing personal big guy, but you met the wrong person in this life!" Rein didn't hesitate and aimed right for the Boar's throat. Shockingly, the boar tried to dodge but it was too stunned from the fall.

Shing!

The red sword gleamed under the sun as it slit the boar's throat! Like a waterfall, its blood came gushing out. Rein immediately jumped away as to not get hit fatally from its last attempt for survival. The boar was going mad from all the pain it was going through, it was losing blood rapidly and would soon die.

"Damn, sorry, I couldn't kill you right away." Rein felt pity for this boar, but he didn't have the ability to insta-kill it without it suffering like so. Rein wanted to put it out of its misery, so he attacked again, this time he used a lot of force and nailed it hard!

Luffy watched in surprise as his brother killed the beast. The Boar stopped moving after Rein's last attack, it had died.

"Phew, it has been accomplished!" Rein wiped the sweat off his forehead in relief. Rein looked at his rewards with joy, he was curious about the time crystal but really excited about the body strengthening Pill.

"Amazing!" Luffy came over with a bright smile on his face. He looked at Rein with absolute respect and reverence. Then he immediately looked at the boar with greed in his eyes, it was obvious what he was thinking.

"Rein, this pig is super big, we can't carry it back." Luffy scratched his head and pondered for a bit, how could they bring it back in one piece?

"You don't have to worry about that, I can bring it back with a secret device!" Rein walked up to the boar and touched it. The Boar suddenly disappeared before Luffy's eyes, Luffy opened his mouth wide in shock.

"W-What secret device, Rein!? Show me!" Luffy ran up to Rein looking him up and down but saw nothing.

"Hehe, it is a secret and your mouth is too big right now for me to tell, so keep it quiet for a bit and I'll tell you later." Rein grinned and proceeded to walk away. He was leaving the forest since his mission was complete and he had gotten such a big haul. Luffy pouted a bit but didn't ponder on it for long and just followed Rein out of the forest.

Both Rein and Luffy went straight home, they were both dirty from the catch and even tired at that. Of course, Rein wasn't all that tired but wanted to take a bath. So, they both got into the bath and cleaned up for about 20 minutes.

Once they were done, Luffy was sleepy from all the energy he had used so he took a nap. However, Rein was going over the items he had just received from his mission not too long ago. "This time Crystal looks really pretty, I wonder what it can do, it should have a description I can read." Rein whispered to himself.

"Oh, here it is!" Rein brought the description up and read it.

[The Time Crystal is an extremely powerful crystal that has the ability to warp Time and Reality at the Highest Level. For precaution, it can only be used once per crystal.]

[Time Crystal Rules]

• When traveling to another time, you will only be present in that current time for 20 minutes before being forced to come back!

• You may bring one object or person back with you, you may only choose one!

• You cannot take anyone with you to any time or reality when using this crystal, this is a solo journey only!

^ Note: This means taking someone in your present time with you to another time, you may only bring an individual back to your time permanently!

[To use the crystal, simply call out to where you want to go in time, the crystal will pick up on what you want and take you there even if you don't know the time the event happened.]

Warning: If used to bring anything back, it may change things according to your time by warping reality and time on a hyper-scale!

"I hit the jackpot for sure with this Crystal!" Rein knew what this meant, he could travel anywhere he chose in the one-piece world and at a certain time line! "I could bring back a powerful devil fruit like the Rumble-Rumble fruit or even Dark-Dark Fruit, Haha!" Rein laughed like a maniac but quieted down once he remembered that Luffy was asleep.

"Hmm, but..." Rein pondered for a second and went outside in a brand new set of clothes. "I do have a system for that, so why not instead of bringing a fruit back, I can bring a person back instead, hehe!" Rein already knew who he wanted to bring back, it was someone who would be totally loyal to him no matter what!

Rein went into the forest nearby for precautionary sake and took out the crystal. After seeing the instruction in the description, Rein already knew what to do. Rein whispered the place and time he wanted to go to without hesitation.

Suddenly, the crystal flashed a bright golden color similar to Kizaru's devil fruit. Numbers flew out from the crystal rapidly, Rein could even see hourglasses as their time ran out. The space in front of Rein began to warp similar to the time he came to this world!

"Not this again!"

Poof!

Rein disappeared and appeared in a Dark dreadful-looking forest. Suddenly he heard two people walking nearby and hid behind a tree.

"Hey! Mama! Mom!" Suddenly the girl was pushed down by her mom by the head and her mom walked off without saying anything.

"Mom, wait, please!" The little girl pleaded as she grabbed her mom's clothes.

"Don't follow Me." The woman bluntly said

"No! Please! I'm gonna come with you!" The little girl w.h.i.n.ed, she was scared with tears in her eyes

"You're useless."

"Unwanted people like you... aren't needed by anyone!" The lady said her last word and walked off without looking back.

"I'm not needed even by you, mom?" The girl was on her knees and began to cry as her mom faded into the distance.

Rein sighed deeply watching such a sad scene but walked out when everything was over. "You can stop crying now, you're mom's not a good person as you can see." If anyone caught on at this point, then they would know that this girl was Baby 5. Suddenly, Baby 5 was alarmed and turned toward Rein who just stepped from behind a tree.

"I-I was useless so she abandoned me, no one would take me in, I'm so useless!" Baby 5 began to cry again to the point where her vision was blurred by the tears.

"I don't think you're useless, in fact, I came here just for you." Rein approached Baby 5 who suddenly stopped crying when she heard Rein's words. She was shocked and happy to hear what Rein had said. She had been called useless all her life but someone had finally said she was useful and even came here just for her!

"D-Do you really mean that? A-Are you here for me?" Baby 5 stood up with her face still full of tears and anticipation.

"Yes, I want to be best friends with you. We can work together and climb high in this world, but you have to listen to me or others will try to trick you." Rein was sincere, she was such a good person that he had to have her by his side, she would be a part of his pirate crew once he made it in the future.

*Sniff Sniff*

"Okay, I will go with you and I will never be useless to you ever!" Rein stuck out his hand and Baby 5 took it with a smile. Rein was also smiling and hugged her. Baby 5 hugged him back and started to cry, she had never had a hug before but she knew what it meant.

"Alright, baby 5, let's go." Rein said, "We'll also have to change that name of yours, it's a little too ridiculous!" Baby 5 wanted to know what was wrong with her name but didn't question Rein's decision. She would listen to Rein only from now on, and no one else.

"W-Where are we going to go?" Baby 5 asked in a low voice hard to hear but Rein heard it. She was honestly very hungry as of now but didn't tell Rein because she thought he might throw her away from asking too much.

Rein wasn't stupid, he could tell she was hungry do to the situation in her village. "Baby 5, remember to ask me about anything you may need, we are friends now, so don't hold back if you want to talk about something." Rein already knew what she wanted but didn't mention it, he wanted her to say it.

Baby 5 looked at Rein reluctantly and said in a stuttering voice "I- I a-am hungry..." Baby 5 shook and clenched her fist, she looked down afraid to look Rein in the face.

"Hehe, I couldn't hear you clearly, say it again." Rein teased and wanted her to say it louder to boost her confidence.

Baby 5 face changed a bit and she bit her lip and said it again in a louder voice. It was silent for a bit and she didn't hear Rein say anything after she repeated herself. Baby 5 froze in fear and slowly looked up at Rein who was smiling right at her.

"See, that wasn't hard was it, we're buddies now, so you don't have to worry." At that moment, the time barrier collapsed and Rein immediately grabbed Baby 5, the time limit was up. "It's time for us to go to our new home together, hehe!" Baby 5 looked at the golden lights and numbers in surprise but stayed silent throughout the whole process.

Soon, they both arrived in the same forest Rein was in before he made his jump to the past. Baby 5 gasped at the new scenery but still held Rein's hand tightly. "Hehe, this way, let's go to your new home." If this was part of the one-piece series some sad music would probably be playing now.

The duo held hands and arrived at Makino's house. Baby 5 paused for a moment and looked at the house closely. "I-Is this where I'll be living from now on?" Baby 5 couldn't believe it, this place, in general, looked better than her old home.

However, time was different where he came from, so quite the amount of time had passed and Makino was already home while Luffy had awakened some time ago. "From today onward, your name will be Erica!" Baby 5 grew excited hearing her new name and squeezed Rein's hand unknowingly from excitement. Rein twitched a bit but kept a smile on his face, this girl was stronger than she looked!

Rein knocked on the door and Makino answered afterward. "Rein, where were you this whole time, Luffy was looking all around the village for you earlier." Makino glared at Rein, then looked over at Erica who was looking at Makino curiously.

"Who is she, Rein? Is she a friend of yours?" Makino didn't wait for his answer and pulled the both of them into the house.

"Yes, she is my friend and I would like her to start living here with us." Rein spoke after Makino shut the door.

"Hmm!" Makino touched her chin and said: "Of course, it's nice to have a girl around the house but she is really dirty. I think you need a bath young miss, follow me!" Makino grabbed Erica's hand but Erica didn't move but instead looked at Rein for confirmation. He simply nodded which meant "yes."

Erica was excited and followed Makino willingly by the hand.

"An interesting change in fate, this is better for her." Rein said to himself.
