One Piece: The Power System

Over the course of time, Rein and Erica finally reached Makino's bar. However, there was a big crowd gathered outside near the sea. Rein and Erica made their way slowly through the crown as to not draw any attention if they could. And there, he saw with his eyes, the legendary Shanks from the show.

At this time, he and his crew were preparing to leave. Luffy was next to the dock and loudly declared for all to hear. "I'll gather my own crew that'll beat yours.... and find the world's greatest treasure!" Luffy said and continued loudly "No matter what, I'll become the Pirate King!" Luffy said as he clenched his fist with his head slightly tilted.

"Oh, you're going to beat us." Shanks said with a smile: "Then, I'll let you take care of this hat, it's very important to me. Take good care of it." Shanks slightly whispered as he put the hat on Luffy's head. Tears ran down Luffy's face like a waterfall. After receiving the hat, he could only look down and cry at this point.

Shanks boarded his ship with his crew as they began to set off. He looked at Luffy, then the crowd of people cheering at him. Shanks noticed something within the crowd that stuck out to him, he had spotted Rein amongst the crowd.

"What?" Shanks rubbed his eyes and looked again but saw that Rein was not standing there anymore. "Man, I think I had 10 too many drinks today, way too many!" Shanks scratched his head, he thought he saw another Luffy in the crowd but assumed he was hallucinating.

A fat man eating pork off to the side noticed his captain's strange behavior. "Captain, what is wrong, why are you rubbing your eyes and look so concerned?" This man could be no one else but Lucky Roo, one of the first members Shanks had recruited with his first being Yasopp.

"Hahaha, I just think I've drunk too much today to the point where I'm hallucinating!" Shanks laughed it off and didn't bother to tell Roo about "his" ridiculous hallucination. Lucky Roo knew that there was more to it than just that but didn't bother to pry if his captain didn't want to tell him.

Meanwhile, Luffy had taken off his hat all the while gripping it. It was as if you wouldn't be able to take it from his hands even if he died! "Rein, who was that man just now? Why did you hide when he looked over here?" Erica noticed that Rein had taken a step back into the crowd to avoid being detected by shanks or any of his crew members.

"No reason, but I would like to keep my presence secret for now." Rein didn't want to reveal himself just yet. In fact, he planned to set sail a year earlier than Luffy. This was because he wanted to become a bounty hunter to earn some money to get a ship for himself. Rein could steal a temporary ship but after that, he wanted to have enough to buy Adams Wood to have his own ship made.

Luffy dawned the hat and walked over to the crowd where he easily spotted Rein and Erica. "Rein and Erica? You guys came, why didn't you guys come sooner?" Luffy still had some tears in his eyes.

"I went home because I had to use the bathroom, once that was done, we came here in a hurry." Rein made up a lie, he just didn't want to meet Shanks yet. Luffy nodded as to understand and didn't question it. The crowd dispersed once Shanks had left. Luffy, Rein, and Erica walked into Makino's bar for some water before leaving back home.

Once they were home, Luffy talked all about shanks and how amazing he was. Luffy stated how he scared a powerful sea monster away that even took off his arm, which made him feel sad and guilty. He talked about how he was caught by a bandit and suddenly was thrown into the sea.

"Hehe, look guys!" At that time, Luffy used his stretching ability and punched the wall. Erica was surprised to see Luffy's ability to stretch. Rein was amazed to see it in real life use but wasn't surprised at all by it, he expected this.

"Luffy, that is a cool ability, how did you get it?" Erica asked

"Hmm, it was that fruit Shanks brought along with him, it was a Devil fruit that turned me into a rubber boy, so now I can stretch!" The minute he said that he grabbed his jaw and stretched it to show more of his ability.

"It was like that, huh?" Erica smirked a bit, "Well, check out my ability I just got recently as well!" Suddenly, Erica started to change into a muck-like substance that covered the whole room. Rein and Luffy's feet were hit by the muck the minute she released it.

"Ah, what is this goob!?" Luffy tried to grab it but that didn't work, if she wanted to, she could drown out this whole room in an instant. Luffy was amazed with her new ability and wanted to know more. Erica retracted her ability with a smile of pride on her face that Rein and Luffy had never seen before.

Rein simply told them that he found the fruit in the forest and gave it to Erica as a gift when Luffy ran to Makino's bar. Erica and Luffy easily believed it, the story was totally believable so who would question it, not to mention that they were just kids and naive.

Somewhere in the world

However, after many days had passed, the world was in turbulence. "Didn't you hear? The Yonko shanks has lost one of his arms in a weak sea, the east blue!" One man was shocked to hear the news of Shanks losing his arm in such a weak place.

"Yeah, I just saw the headlines, he even lost his hat while he was at it!" Another man couldn't help but say, was the east blue strong? Heck no it wasn't, how could he lose an arm while he was there of all places!?

"What enemy could have been so strong to give Shanks a run for his arm like that?" Many people chattered happily about the news but this would only make people keep a closer eye on the east blue for any unforeseen enemies who may spawn.

Marine Base

"So Shanks has lost one of his arms in such a place? Are the powers in the New World weakening or is the east blue just getting strong?" A man with a cigarette in his mouth spoke in disdain after seeing the newspaper and threw it aside.

"Vice-Admiral Onigumo, it just shows that we may have to keep a closer eye on the east blue or the 4 seas in general. We all know that some powerful people have spawned in the past from those places and thus, can't be taken lightly!" Momonga spoke harshly seeing Onigumo underestimate the people of the 4 seas, he knew what had happened in places like this before.

"It's okay, if one of the emperors of the New World makes a move in any way, we always have spies to keep an eye out." Strawberry sipped his tea and said calmly, he already knew this before the news had been spread.

"Oh, then what island did Shanks visit if you have spies keeping an eye out?" Onigumo took a huge puff of his cigarette and put it out on the table. Some of the other vice admirals in the room looked towards strawberry, looking for an answer.

"Intel told me he lost his arm in Goa Kingdom's Foosha village, which is located near the Kingdom." Right after he said that, Garp, who had been crunching on crackers, crushed the bag into oblivion which stunned everyone in the room.

"Huh, is there something wrong, Garp?" Momonga noticed the change in Garp's carefree atmosphere and asked with concern.

"Bwahahaha! It's nothing, I'll go visit that place to see if Shanks caused any trouble!" Garp didn't give anyone time to say anything and left in a hurry! Everyone looked at each other in confusion but still continued their initial chatter afterward.

Goa Kingdom / Foosha Village

Meanwhile, Rein, Luffy, and Erica's hunting speed and capture rate increase by many folds. This was obviously because of their Devil Fruit abilities. They had managed to kill a giant crocodile which they were scared to fight because it was close to the water. This was mainly for Erica who was made out of swamp or mud.

Rein was trying to boost his System Points as best as he could. This would also be to train Erica and Luffy but not in Haki, of course, it was just normal standard training or activities. Rein needed this training himself, they simply coordinated their attacks to take bigger and tougher foes down. At this point, a week had already passed since Shanks' visit at Foosha Village. It was now night time and everyone was prepared to go to sleep.

"Hmm, I may as well sell these three Devil Fruits to the system to earn more points for myself." Rein was contemplating for some time now as he had thoughts of selling his Devil Fruits he had gotten. He had been training his Observation Haki to find hidden animals in the forest, at least the small ones that couldn't be easily spotted.

Rein sighed and had reluctantly come to the conclusion of selling his Devil Fruits. Over a week's time, he had earned around 28,000 System Points for hunting many hours a day with no playtime. Rein could instantly learn any techniques he bought but he needed to buy manuals for other people to learn.

For example, Rein would need to buy a Body Strengthening Pill for the (Legs) of a person in order for them to learn Soru much quicker or to speed up their learning speed. They wouldn't learn it instantly, but would still need training in order to learn. For Observation Haki, he would need to buy and Body strengthening Pill for the (Mind) in order for them to meditate and learn. It soothes the mind, making it sharper in senses etc.

Rein had a total of 38,000 System Points. He reluctantly sold his Devil Fruits to the System and received the full price of the sell. The Size-Size fruit was pretty decent and sold for 100,000 System Points. The Ink-Ink Fruit was a special Paramecia and sold for 150,000 System Points, and the powerful Zoan Devil Fruit sold for 260,000 System Points! This left Rein with a Grand Total of 548,000 System Points!

"Well, at least we won't have to go hunting for a long time with this." Rein had a crooked smirk on his face. At least he could afford Soru now. He decided to go to sleep right after his exchange, tomorrow he'll buy something from the system. Rein had finally met the qualifications to level up his Observation Haki.

Rein found that it was hard to earn Skill Points to some degree since most of the time he wouldn't get any at all. Rein checked his status one last time before dozing off afterward.

All 3 slept soundlessly as many hours passed by. They were tired a lot due to hunting every day, so they slept much longer than usual. Makino simply left the food out for them to get later when they woke up. As time went on, the door was suddenly kicked open by a familiar figure, with the door being kicked open, everyone woke up, except Luffy.

"You Little Brats, Prepare!" The one who kicked the door open was Garp who had a distorted expression but with a smile.

"Oh shit!" Rein started to sweat and looked at Erica.

"Run!" Rein jumped off the bed and threw his covers towards Garp in an attempt to distract him to make a break for it. Nope! How could Garp fall for such a ridiculous trick, Rein was grabbed out of the air by Garp instantly.

"Agh! Let me go, old man, don't get crazy!" Rein tried to resist but all failed

"Hahaha, little brats got some tricks but there is no way you can escape!" Garp grinned deeply. Garp was wearing a black suit that was close to former wear or marine clothes to some degree.

"You big old bully!" Erica was shocked to see Rein getting caught by this intruder and immediately utilized her Devil Fruit to attack him.

"What's this?" Garp looked at the girl he'd never seen before as she turned into mud that quickly started to spread all over the room to encircle him. Garp was actually surprised by her ability, it was a Devil Fruit power in the East blue of all places! Once Garp came out of his surprise he grabbed her muck body with his b.a.r.e hands and his hand didn't pass through!

'Haki!' Rein thought to himself.

Erica was just as surprised as Rein, she felt invincible once she got this new power and that no one could touch her. She felt like she could protect her friends with ease with this new ability. But now, someone was able to physically touch her without passing through with no problem, how was this possible!?

"EEEK!" Erica was easily suppressed and grabbed by the collar just like Rein.

"That is some ability kid, what might your name be, haha?" Garp laughed, but he was secretly amazed by her quick retaliation.

"Bad old man, let us go!" Erica didn't answer his question and tried to wiggle herself free. Garp only chuckled and said nothing.

"Gramps, let us go already!" Hearing Rein's request, Garp laughed again and dropped both Rein and Erica as they fell on their butts.

"Gramps?" Erica was in awe and sat in place silently

Luffy was still sleeping through all of this with a snot bubble coming out of his nose! "Wake up, Brat!" Garp's fist connected with Luffy's forehead and he woke up instantly.

"Ah, ow, ow, ow, my head!" Rein wanted to laugh but held back.

"You little brats, did you guys meet shanks?" Garp finally stated his reason for coming here without knowing.

"S-Shank, yes I met him, he was the coo" Before he could finish, he bunked over the head.

"Ow, Ow!" Luffy rolled over his bed holding his head

"Damn, what did he say to you and why do you have his hat!?" Garp almost fainted when he saw the hat next to Luffy in his bed.

"S-Shanks gave it to me as a vow, I will become the Pirate King!" Garp's facial expression turned unsightly after hearing Luffy's words and his eyes seemed to have turned to into death stars!

Garp looked at the kids in the room with a dark expression "Oh shoot!" Rein exclaimed with a cold sweat

AHHHHH! Screams echoed throughout the house that could send chills through just about anyone.

Moments later, the three of them had multiple knots coming out of their heads with black eyes from a beating. Erica couldn't help but think of Garp as a demon in human skin! "It's time for you guys to leave this place, but I know just the place for you guys to go to get away from that Shanks influence!" Garp grinned and had the three of them follow through the mountains. This place was called Mt Colubo, where a certain group of bandits dwelled.

The Foosha village was below this mountain. Over time, they came across a house that stood around a forest in the mountains. Rein already knew what to expect at this point. Garp approached the door and began to knock on the door so hard that Rein was a little surprised by the door's durability level.

Luffy liked this scene and began to run around like a wild child. Rein just stood in place holding his head while Erica did the same. Luffy seemed to have forgotten everything as he ran around. Soon, the door was answered by a fat woman with long orange curly hair.

"Stop it! Whoever you are, do you want to get killed!?" The orange-headed woman Hollard.

"It's me!" Garp said bluntly

"Eh! G-Garp!" The orange headed lady backed away in shock and two other men appeared behind her with surprised expressions. This Curly orange head fat woman was none other than Curly Dadan, the leader of these mountain bandits.

Garp began to explain what he wanted as Luffy ran around happily. Soon, Garp picked Luffy up after he had caught him as he was about to run pass him and said. "Take care of him and... " Garp pointed toward Rein and Erica and continued "Those two over there." Garp grinned and said.

"Luffy, Rein, and mystery girl say hello." Garp carried Luffy as Rein and Erica came forward.

"Hello!" They all greeted Curly at the same time.

"Uh, who are these kids, Garp?" Dadan couldn't help but ask. Why has she suddenly put in this situation?

"They are ... my grandkids," Garp said with no restraint

"What!?" The bandit's voices covered the mountains as they echoed throughout the forest.

"How many do you have? Tell your son to stop what he's doing right now!" Dadan was already taking care of one of his "grandsons" and yet he had more! Dadan and the bandits refused but Garp threatened them with prison if they didn't.

Once Luffy was free, he began to run around again like a child, he must really like this scenery. Suddenly, a liquid flew through the air and landed on Luffy's face with a sploosh sound. "What is it!? Ugh, spit! Gross! Who did it!?" Luffy scanned the forest around him and saw a figure on a rock holding a pipe in his hand.

Ace!
