One Piece: The Power System

Garp introduced Luffy, Rein, and Erica to Ace, in which Ace didn't reply as he simply ignored the 3. Luffy demanded that Ace apologize for spitting on him but was ignored by the latter. Eventually, Dadan accepted the fact that she would have to watch 3 more brats, she had a sunken expression on but what could she do?

Once they were in the house, Rein scanned the house which looked really poor compared to Makino's. "Where is our room, I don't see any place to sleep but a big room." Rein seemed to have thought of something, would he have to make a treehouse or some base he could live in?

"This is your bedroom, get used to it brat!" Dadan's mouth twitched a bit seeing the contempt in Rein's eyes, but it only lasted for a second before it disappeared, but she still noticed it. Another arrogant brat like Ace!

"Oh, sure fat lady, thanks for telling me that, I'll do my best." Rein spoke calmly and walked out of the house without saying anything else.

"Bwahahaha!" Garp laughed while holding his stomach after hearing Rein blunt insult. His words were straight forward like he wasn't even trying to insult her. Garp walked to the corner of the house and sat down ready to take a nap.

"You Little..!" Dadan's face turned red from anger then she slammed the door shut in a fit of rage after Rein left. Ace had run off somewhere by himself while Luffy and Erica were outside talking. Once they saw Rein approaching they both stopped talking and turned to him.

"On our way here, I saw a secluded area over there, let's do some combat training for a bit." Rein led the way as they both followed, it wasn't far at all as they could still see the house close by. "Okay, I want both of you to attack me at the same time, hit me if you can." Rein looked at Erica and Luffy and said seriously.

"Huh, you want us to attack you, Rein?" Luffy was surprised a bit but was willing to do so for practice. However, Erica was different, she didn't want to attack Rein and wanted to refuse.

"Don't worry, if things get bad then we can stop with ease." Rein casually spoke, "Luffy can use his Devil Fruit but you can't Erica, that thing is too OP right now for us." Rein scratched his head and made a rule up right off the bat, he couldn't combat her devil fruit now so he made this little rule up instead. Rein closed his eyes, he wanted to see if he could dodge with his eyes closed while using Observation Haki.

"Huh, Op?" Erica was confused as to what that meant but smirked nonetheless, and said, "Okay, I'm sorry if I hurt you a bit, please don't blame me." Suddenly, she looked serious and prepared to attack Rein. At this time, they were being watched by another person in the forest, it was Ace.

"What is this guy doing, I thought the one with the straw hat was the stupidest one, but it might just be this twin that's the dumbest." Ace ridiculed seeing Rein take on 2 people, it wasn't a big deal for him to take on 2 people but Rein had his eyes closed, how arrogant and stupid was this guy?!

Both Luffy and Erica attack from both sides together with a coordinated attack. The plan, Erica would aim for Rein's legs while Luffy would go for the upper half.

"Gomu Gomu no!"

"Low Kick!"

"This guy's done for!" Ace smirked with his arms folded with a long pipe in his hand. However, as soon as Rein was sieged by Luffy and Erica, he utilized Observation Haki, but this was only the lowest level of it. If Garp had seen this he would be shocked to see that his grandson was so talented at such a young age with no one to teach him.

Rein dodged Luffy and Erica's flurry of attacks which surprised them greatly. Luffy's wiggly long arms shot out several times but it took too much time for him to draw them back, he was very inexperienced with his new power. They both stopped and looked at each other. "Luffy, tie his legs down with your stretchy ability and I'll aim for him directly this time!" Erica loudly spoke her plan and Luffy nodded while still keep his eyes on Rein who was playing defense. She also approached Luffy and whispered something in his ear.

Ace, who was watching from afar, was stunned a bit. "That Straw hat kid just stretched his arms, what kind of ability is that?" Ace looked at Rein who hadn't moved from where he stood but he couldn't see that Rein was actually sweating a bit from moving so much in one go. "I don't know how he's dodging but this guy has some skills, what will he do next?" Ace got a little closer to see better, he was confident in his ability to sneak. He had, after all, robbed so many people at this point with this ability alone!

Erica rushed Rein again with a low shout and began to swing at him again, at this time Luffy was waiting for the right time to attack. Rein had taught Luffy that waiting for the right moment sometimes is the best way to take an enemy down, which they use to take down many monsters in the forest. Of course, with Erica swamp fruit, what beast on this island could resist?

"Gomu Gomu no Tangle!" Luffy shot his arm off while Rein was engaging Erica. He aimed right for Rein's legs to trip him up.

"Not bad Luffy but it won't work on me!" Rein jumped over Luffy's two long wiggly arms, but Luffy smiled like it was nothing.

"Haha, just what we wanted!" Erica smiled and sent a kick toward Rein's c.h.e.s.t while he was airborne. Rein's face changed a bit and all he could do was block this time. The kick connected and Rein was blown back, her legs were the strongest on her little body, not to mention that Rein was in the air with no current footing to hold him in place, so could he resist?

Absolutely not!

"Ugh!"

Rein was surprised to see how sly Erica had become, she had planned this! This is was clearly what she had whispered to Luffy's ear. Luffy didn't have to hit him, just make him do a certain "movement" and she could get him. Rein hit the ground with his arms still crossed over his c.h.e.s.t, he had completely underestimated these two and paid for it!

Luffy slowly retracted his wiggly arms as he walked forward. Luffy and Erica looked at each other with joy and gave each other a high five. "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up but I've got to say that was pretty good teamwork you guys had there." Rein got off the ground with a content face, this was his fault for being full of himself. This was a good lesson for him, never underestimate your opponent, or else!

"Are you alright, Rein? I put quite a bit of force into that kick, how are your arms?" Erica and Luffy walked up to Rein to examine him for injury and concern. At that moment, Luffy's stomach began to growl.

"I'm okay, I think we should eat something, we haven't eaten anything since we left Makino's house in a hurry." Rein looked at Luffy who had s.u.c.k.e.d in his lips since everyone heard his stomach growling, it looked pretty funny.

"Rein, I'm Hungry!" Luffy said bluntly

"Yeah, I heard." After hunting for so much, they had plenty of food at their disposal. Rein handed a carcass of a beast to Erica to cook up. She had watched Makino cook and felt it was something she wanted to learn in order to be more useful. Erica was a swamp human, so she was holding knives, food seasoning, and much more in her body.

Luffy and Rein sat down on a log and watch Erica chop the beast up for cooking. Rein remembered the system technique he wanted to buy. Rein decided to save his Skill Points and boost his techniques in a more normal way for now. When he first used his skill points, he experienced pain but the last time he used it, he didn't for some reason.

Rein ran through the system and immediately purchased Soru. He also learned something else new, he couldn't buy techniques like Rokugan or Armament Hak without meeting certain conditions. Rein knew that Rokugan could only be learned once he had some mastery over the other six Rokushiki techniques. As for Armament Haki, it was all about his strength and Body Fitness that played a role here. He had unlocked body fitness sometime ago, which appeared in his status after some training.

"As much as I want the ability to control the weather, getting a Zoan Devil fruit would be a better start. To be exact, a Mythical Zoan type would be a very good start for me, then I can simply pay 25 skill points for a second Devil Fruit ability and get the weather-weather fruit." After some thinking, he had given his final thoughts.

Controlling weather was amazing and all but what would happen once he got into a direct fight? Of course, with Haki and Rokushiki techniques he could stave off some people but his devil fruit would be useless in a situation like that. For greater strength, a Mythical Zoan type would be really good to have.

"But which type would I choose, there are quite a lot in the store to choose from." The problem was, they cost to darn much to buy. He got this many System Points because he sold devil fruits to the system, if not, he would be in the poor house at this point.

Rein brought the interface store up to check the fruits out. Of course, the sooner he got his Devil Fruit, the better.

Rein immediately clicked the Devil Fruit Section and the Devil Fruit Class Section Popped up.

The list continued on and on, it was an endless list of Mythical Zoan Fruits but Rein only needed to have one for himself in his life since that was enough for him. It was not telling how long he was caught up in the system, it was only until the smell of meat came wafting over to him did he snap out of it.

"Huhuhu, the meat is finally done!" Luffy eyes turned into stars as always with his tongue sticking out as he drooled. Erica was carrying eating utensils, tables, chairs and many other things inside of her. They hunted so much that they sold some of the meat under Luffy protest back then to buy other things just in case.

"Yes, I did the best I could but I'm sure Miss Makino is better at cooking." Erica somewhat smiled and put the meat on each plate she had laid out on the table. Eating in a forest around a table, this scene would look weird to anyone who saw it.

Luffy didn't wait and began to eat right away without holding back or caring. Rein and Erica started to eat as well, everyone was hungry since none of them had eaten. However, Ace, who had been patiently watching, was shocked to see so many things come out of the girl of the group.

"What is with this weird group of people?!" Ace was stuck in a dilemma, were these people humans or monsters. He had been called a monster before but maybe these kids were even bigger monsters! "They're freaks with weird powers or something, one has the ability to stretch, the girl has the ability to hold items and the other guy...." Ace said nothing more, he didn't see Rein use any power but had some good dodging skills and that was it.

Ace had something to do but was so caught up with these 3 that he lost track of time. "Crap, Sabo has probably already left by now!" Ace turned tail and ran off in a hurry. "Maybe he won't be so mad once I tell him a story about these weirdos." Rein and company were finally stuffed after eating the huge snake they had killed a few days ago.

"So, he finally left after watching us for so long, he probably had something to do." Rein said after eating his last share of meat. Rein had already known that ace was close by, like really close by, but not everyone else could detect him, he had some really good sneaking skills!

"Watching? Someone was watching us this whole time?" Erica stood up and looked around but saw nothing.

She then looked curiously at Rein "Who was watching us?"

"It was Ace, the kid from earlier, you know, the one with the huge pipe in his hand." Rein stretched and put his head back over the chair.

"That jerk, he spit on Luffy earlier for no reason!" Erica gave a little hmph and sat back down to eat.

"That guy, he must apologize to me." Luffy spoke with puffed up cheeks filled with meat.

"Chew first, then speak, you don't have to put all that meat in your mouth. No one's going to take your portion!" Rein moved out of the way as food and spit came out of Luffy's mouth. He walked off back towards Dadan's house.

At this time, Garp was walking out of the house stretching, it looked like he had some good sleep. Garp already noticed Rein coming out of the forest, in his hand, was a sword. "Rein, where is Luffy and that girl?" Garp was grinning for some reason and asked.

"They're eating right now, where are you going?" Rein didn't pay attention to Garp's grin and ask bluntly.

"Well, my vacation is over, it's time for me to head back to work!" Garp put his hands on his waist and looked towards the sky trying to look heroic.

"Uh, okay, I'll come with you, I want to see how this marine ship look." Rein wanted to see more things rather than just being on this island all the time.

"Hahaha, so you've finally made the decision to join the marines, this is a good choice!" Garp laughed with false assumptions.

"No way, I just want to see the sh.i.p.s and that's it!" Rein shook his head, this old man was too straight-minded in his way of thinking. The Marines were, in fact, good, but why were they made? They were made to protect the World nobles, they were basically their secret army. If the marines didn't protect those evil world nobles to such a degree and was truly justly like they say, then, by all means, he would be at the base ready to join in a heartbeat.

These World Nobles were evil to the core, even if you helped them they would literally shoot you in the back right after you did so, how could he join a force that was created for these evildoers, not even a pirate could be so low, they would at least wait for a bit before stabbing you in the back, not right after!

Garp didn't seem to mind and let Rein tag along the way. Soon, they came to a dock with a big ship with marines guarding it closely. "Ah, Vice-Admiral Garp is ba..." Before he could finish, the sea formed a high wave as a shadow could be seen closing in on the ship. The shadow showed its ugly face that revealed a long snout with razor-sharp teeth, it was a serpent-like monster! If Luffy had seen this thing, he would recognize it right away as the monster that took Shanks's arm off!

Roar! The Sea Monster roared, it had white eyes with no pupils to be seen in them.

"Haha, the little serpent wants to play, so let's play!" At that time, Garp walked up with a grin while cracking his knuckles. This beast probably never appeared again because it had decided to attack Garp ship, in which it was killed! Rein looked at Garp and seemed to have thought of something.

"Gramps! Beat it near death and let me get the killing blow on it!" Rein immediately spoke his request.
