Pokemon: The Wandering Guardian

Well, let's see if this will work. Lan had just made another batch of food that he was thinking of using as his bait. He knew that Growlithe liked sweet and spicy food but he knew that many water pokemon liked delicane so he made some bait with part of the herbs he had left in stock.

He then started to walk down to the bottom of the cliff so that he was closer to the water. He then baited his hook and cast his line.

After a couple of minutes, Lan could feel something tugging at his line. He had learned a bit and didn't immediately reel the line in. He waited till he felt the pokemon actually on the line.

He pulled the fishing rod to the side and started to reel the line in.

Splash! FLop Flop!

Lan reeled in his first catch. He couldn't see clearly in the darkness but from what he could see was a fish about half a foot long flopping out on the rocks. It was not able to move at all and was wailing "Magicarp, Magicarp, -carp, Magicarp"

Lan had a funny expression on his face. He knew that this was one of the most common pokemon but wasn't it too weak?

Lan " Well I know that when they evolve they turn into a very strong Pokemon that is rumored to be near-invincible in the water." Lan knew that he was under tremendous pressure and didn't have money or time to spare until he can catch the two Poliwag that Mr.R requested.

He then quickly moved to the side of the Magicarp that was flailing around and picked it up and gently put it back into the water. He understood his predicament and really wanted to get back to fishing.

He then preceded to fish for more pokemon

" Arnt you the same one I caught earlier? I swear"

"No just no don't even say anything I can't stand it anymore just leave"

Lan was insanely frustrated after four hours he hadn't caught any Pokemon other than Magicarp.

"I cant take this anymore I am going to take a break. This is stressing me out." Lan then preceded to walk further down the platform of rocks till he could not go any further.

He then preceded to test the water with his feet "Man this water is really cold I wish I had prepared a towel after this. I guess that I will have to go get next to Growlithe and the fire after this before I get sick. "

Lan could feel the rocks underneath his feet and some plants brushing past his leg. Lan ignored this and continued to trod deeper into the water to where it was at his knees. He looked down and brushed away the plants.

" Wuuu I found some more deliweed. Haha, this is perfect now I have more bait. I can also bring this back to the lab and try it in some of my recipes for my Pokefood. Growlithe you are not taking my food anymore you will get your own Pokefood. " Lan had a weird grin on his face making him look pretty distraught.

Lan then proceeded to pick the delicane till he had more than 20 strands of it. He then heard a small splash behind him. He turned around but was immediately greeted with a water gun to his face. YOu could see the ugly expression on his soaked face.

"Achuu" Lan sneezed and bent over. He carefully studied the pokemon before him. It was a little seahorse that had its tail wrapped around one of the largest stalks of delicane. He didn't really know what it was but it was quite small only about a foot tall and had a wing on its back.

Lan then finished studying the pokemon and mentally regrouped. "Sorry, Sorry I didn't see you there little one. I must have intruded on your home"

"Horseee, Horsea" the pokemon seemed vigilant of Lan and immediately let out a cry.

Lan then stressed a bit but then took out the food he had been using as bait. "Here you go little one. Eat this" While reaching out his hand.

Hosea was hesitant until it smelled the sweetness of what was in the human's hand. It then slowly let go of the stalk of delicane and swam over to Lan. It looked at Lan then the food and then again at Lan then settling on the food It took the food and ate it in one big gulp.

Stars shone in his eyes and looked at the human expecting more sweets. Lan just laughed and grabbed another piece and handed out to the pokemon. He saw that it was enjoying the food. He then thought of something. and said "Do you want to come with me? If you come I will make you more food"

Seeming to understand the Lan. The Horsea screeched and swam in circles around Lan. Lan then proceeded to pick up an empty Pokeball around his belt and held it out. The Horsea preceded to headbutt the Pokeball almost knocking it out of his hands.

Horsea turned into a ball of light and entered the Pokeball. After three seconds it was caught. Then Lan tossed the Pokeball out and Horsea appeared before him. Lan then gave the rest of his current bait to Horsea while the later gobbled it up.

Lan smiled and said " Looks like I just received another glutton"

He then preceded to return Horsea to its Pokeball. He then grabbed his things and went back to camp laying down by the coals of fire. He then placed his bag down laying his head on it using it as a pillow. Lan was mentally exhausted from all of this stress. He just sighed and vowed not to get overly worked up again since it really is not that bad of a thing to worry about.

He preceded to fall asleep.

Lan woke up to something pushing him. He opened his eyes and saw Growlithe nudging him to get up with pleading eyes.

"Grrrrrrrr" Growlithe then put his paws over his head in embarrassment

Lan looked at Growlithe and blinked a couple of times and said " Yeah yeah Ill get some food"

An hour later they were all ready for the day. Lan and Growlithe walked down to the shore and Lan released Horsea.

"Seeeheeh" Horsea opened its eyes and looked at Lan and the other pokemon in curiosity.

Lan " Growlithe this is our new friend Horsea." Lan then proceeded to pull out his Pokedex and log Horsea's info. Then looked up a Poliwag in the Pokedex.

He then asked while showing the picture" Horsea do you know where we can find this Pokemon?"

Horsea looked at the picture and recognized the pokemon as they were many of them that resided in the marshy grounds and their leader was one of the Kings of the Lake.

Horsea nodded and preceded to swim in a certain direction. Lan and Growlithe followed on land and ran for a while.

After some time Lan and his two Pokemon arrived at a large clearing where there was a bunch of tall grass growing from the water.

Horsea then nodded and dived underwater. Lan was confused as what his pokemon was doing. But after a few moments, he was impressed.

SPLASH! SPLASH!

Two Poliwags jumped out of the water and stared angerly at the water where it suddenly became pitch dark.

Horsea popped its head up "Horsea! Horsea!"

Lan "Nice Horsea. Now use watergun. Growlithe use Bite on the other one"

Horsea sent out a stream of water at the closest Poliwag while Growlithe charged at full speed at the other. He was fast since his recovery last night from training. He made it there right after the water struck the other Poliwag. The two small pokemon were blasted further on land and were having a hard time to stand up from the other attacks. They were young and haven't had to battle yet. Lan took this opportunity to toss out two Pokeballs consecutively.

Lan and his pokemon looked at the two blinking Pokeballs.

<CLICK> <Pufffft>

One of the pokemon was caught while the other was not. Growlithe quickly took this opportunity to use ember on the escaped pokemon. This effectively knocked it uncouncous.

Lan then ran over and threw another Pokeball at it and after a couple of seconds

The Poliwags was caught. He bent down and petted Growlithe earning a content growl from him. He then walked to Horsea and smiled " I couldn't have done it without you. Here take this." He then tossed a berry to Horsea and it gobbled it up.

Lan then returned Horsea to its Pokeball.

Alright, Growlithe that was a good battle now we have to get back to town before noon. So we are going to do the same thing again for training. I want you to work on your speed while you are at it.

Now let's go we dont want to be late for meeting Daisy.
