Pokemon: The Wandering Guardian

Lan quickly arrived at the Pokemon Center where he rushed up to the counter and hit the bell. A young nurse joy with interesting pink and red hair comes out from the back.

"Just a second, How may I help you, sir?"

"This Pokemon was hurt by its trainer during the competition. It will need immediate medical attention. Please help it"

"Right hand it here, Chancey!!! We have a Code 12 we need immediate attention!"

Almost immediately she took the Pokeball and Chansey came in running with a metal cart for patients. Nurse Joy released Vulpix from her Pokeball to the cart.

Vulpix had her eyes shut and her breathing was short and in odd intervals. There was also a large spot on her side where a large bruise was rapidly forming.

Lan just stood at the counter till Chansey and the Nurse took Vulpix to the medical facilities.

Lan just sighed and went to sit down at one of the lone benches in the Pokemon Center. He looked around and discovered that the Pokemon Center was actually very empty right now.

"Well, I guess everyone is out there enjoying festival huh."

<sigh>

Lan took a deep breath closed his eyes and remembered what had just transpired.

He was looking from the stands but oddly enough he could hear everything that was said clearly. Muttering "I really just felt so much Rage towards someone I don't really know but it seemed my body just acted on its own."

"My mark also started to burn and I know that my anger was turned it into a need to protect. Maybe it snapped me out of my blind anger. Normal things do not do things like that I am pretty sure. Maybe it helped me in some way but I really can't focus on things like that now"

???: "Focus on what now ?"

"Huh? Oh hey Daisy"

" He is all I get? Ahh, I get it you are blinded by my awesome presence" Daisy realized with an overdramatic expression.

Lan knew she was joking ... maybe but he didn't really care because he was used to it.

"You know you caused a ruckus out there. Many of the spectators were happy with what you did but it also might be a bad thing."

"Why?"

"Well it might not be a big deal to the Young Master but his family might consider it as a slap in their face."

"Does that really have that many consequences? I mean everyone is of the same opinion that the "YOUNG MASTER" was terrible with his Pokemon."

"I mean not really at most they will ban you from the shops that they own but that will probably be due to gossip and rumors. Reputation is what that family lives off of around here so, Yeah"

"Alright, thanks for the heads up I don't plan on going to any of their shops Ill keep going back to Rover's. Wha ...."

Lan was caught off by a chuckle " Well I will appreciate the business then. Haha"

Lan and Daisy turned around and said " Mr. and Mrs.R "

"Kids I think we are passed the Mr. part just call me Rover and my wife Jane. We cant get here as fast as you young kids can but we still made it. Hows the situation with the Vulpix?"

Lan smiled wryly and replied " Well I don't really know the Nurse took it to the Back and I was stuck here"

As if on cue the Nurse Joy came out and walked toward the group. She asked, " You are the trainer that brought the injured Vulpix, correct?"

"Yeah that was me, How is it?" Lan eagerly replied.

"Well the Vulpix was badly injured it had two broken ribs and it was making it hard to breathe and the muscles were injured. It also had a lot of its energy drained and seemed to have c.u.mulated a lot of fatigue from overexerting itself. But now with some rest, it should make a physical recovery in a day or two"

The group took a sigh in relief

The Nurse Joy suddenly became serious and sternly asked: " Now can you tell me about what happened to it?"

The group nodded and preceded to tell the Nurse about the whole ordeal. When they finished wrapping up the story. Nurse Joy sighed and preceded to talk.

" Well from what I saw in the emergency room this Vulpix seems to resist people and trainers around it. Meaning that it might of suffered physical abuse before this from its previous trainer. In any case, I will write up a report and send it to Officer Jenny.

Also like I started to say before this Pokemon will most likely have mental trauma and will not be able to battle again. It is that severe so I recommend it to become pet rather than used as a Pokemon Partner for battles.

It would be best for it if it had a stable and friendly environment until it is able to get over this trauma."

"That's horrible" Daisy replied while the rest agreed with her.

Daisy looked at Lan and said " I know that you are planning on traveling a lot so it might not make sense for you to keep it. If it really needs a stable environment. I know I will be going to Masters School for Grooming in either the Hoenn or Sinnoh regions in a couple months so I know that I could take it"

Mrs. R spoke up " We will take it we were actually going to gift Lan our Vulpix."

Lan "WHAT!!!"

Mr. R: "Well yeah our Vulpix saw you protect the other and her lost really upset her. So we both talked about it on the way here and decided to give it to you as a Thanks and an investment as a future trainer."

Mrs.R: " Our house and shop are going to be empty as we have no other Pokemon so I believe we can take care of the other Vulpix"

Lan immediately looked at Mr. R who was visibly sweating.

Mr. Rover cleared his throat while releasing two pokemon and said " Um actually I just got two babies because tonight was our anniversary and you loved water pokemon especially Poliwags"

Lan and Daisy had a stupified expression and Mrs. Rover just stared at her husband and hit him on the head. She then preceded to turn to the two babies and her face immediately turned into a smile. She scooped them up and carried them still not acknowledging her husband.

Lan could only mentally sigh and laugh at the couple. Then he had a thought and whispered to Daisy for a couple of seconds. She smiled and nodded.

Lan then cleared his throat and tried to suppress his excitement " Well I will still take Vulpix from Mr. Rover and I will take the other one also. I know of someone who would be the perfect partner for it. So I will take it back to Professor Oak's Lab to deliver it. This also allows Daisy to watch over it for a while to see if the Pokemon and owner are compatible."

Everyone nodded seemingly agreeing to Lan's proposal. Now that this was settled Nurse Joy went to go write her report while the others stayed back to talk.

Mr.R nodded to Lan and immediately gave Lan his Vulpix's Pokeball because his wife was too preoccupied with the baby Pokemon.

Lan thanked the couple immensely for everything that they have done and sent the two of them off back to their shop.

An hour later Lan and Daisy were sitting next to each other talking about small things.

Daisy then asked "We probably need to return to the Lab tomorrow if we can. I don't want to miss my sweet brother Gary getting his first Pokemon."

Lan was startled " Isn't that next week?"

Daisy " No Silly, it's in TWO days so we need to get back. I am sure you need to tell Grandpa about your travels and such. I can help out if needed but I am sure he is going to be sad about losing a talented assistant. Maybe you can represent the Lab or something. Sometimes they can act as a sponsor for trainers."

Lan nodded while asking " Really? I will have to ask him about it. I want to get into some of my own research also. "

Daisy" I am tired now it has been a long day Ill see you bright and early tomorrow."

"Okay, See ya soon. Get some sleep" replied Lan.
