Princess Lyn: Fleeting Dreams

Chapter 614 - Lethia's madness

A few hours earlier, in the Mist Kingdom castle grounds.

A woman with dusty blonde coloured hair found herself heading in the direction of the destroyed magician tower. A lot has happened the last few months so she did not think to come here but now that she has some time she needs to confirm it.

With her father's powers, it should be impossible for him to die. So then what happened? In the past even when he received fatal injuries they would heal right away.

This strange feeling started when she was twelve, when her Dad started to leave the Kingdom more. She never understood the purpose of his business trips but she couldn't question it.

Thus this always left with her nanny and being daddy's girl, she never got along well with her. Why? She wanted to control her.

It was obvious what that old woman wanted. She wanted to use her to increase her position.

That was fine, she could make use of her too.

Perhaps it was due to her strict nanny, but she never had friends. Or, maybe because she has this habit of keeping things to herself.

'My story would never one that what would earn me companions

' It's not like she has some sob story of a background like those who pretend to be weak.

On the other hand, it earned her quite the loner reputation in school. Her parents married young, and yet unlike her husbands the Queen didn't seem fond of her father. Naturally other kids picked up on that. So despite her so-called royal lineage, nobody flocked to her.

Why rely on her nanny when her mother is still around?

The answer was simple. Her mother never spoke to her in private. Although they frequently met, it was only when they had to appear as a family to the public. Otherwise her mother would not meet with her.

It didn't make sense to her. Is it simply because she is the Queen? Mother is the Queen so she is naturally busy all the time.

Lethia recalled a time her mother did speak to her. Privately. It was only one time. But it wasn't a warm hearted conversation or explanation for her bad treatment.

'Do not do anything to your sister, that is a line you must never cross.'

Right her sister, the so-called outcast. Although mother didn't speak to her at the very least the woman acknowledged her as a Princess. At the very least she had nice clothes and a good education. But after her mother said those words she started to resent her sister. When she first learned about her she didn't think much of the girl. Yet after that moment she started to dislike her.

Why? Why?

How come?

Why did mother say that on behalf a child she cast away? That was the first and last time mother spoke to her privately and it wasn't even a close mother and daughter talk. It was all about her sister.

But despite this her father told her countless times that she was exactly like her mother. Is that the reason we don't get along? No it is not like they never got along, that person never gave her a chance to get to know her.  .

Why does that girl who has nothing get her mothers affections? At some point those thoughts became twisted and she gradually became crazy.

The fifst time Lethia killed somebody was when she was no more than six years old. It was during a large birthday banquet from one of mother's aquaintances. Lethia however soon discovered that the people there mocked her father for being born as a commoner.

The only reason people invited her to the banquet was to take a look at the spoiled spot of the royal family. She was young then but she already understood.

'Why did my mother accept father if she disliked him?'

'Why was I born?'

Those negative and depressing like thoughts took over her mind, but at some point she stopped pitying her situation. Even if she behaves weak and helpless nobody will help her. She has to get stronger. That birthday banquet was the first turning point for her.

It was the first time she killed somebody with her own hands. One moment her father was speaking with her, and in the next somebody had impaled a sword from behind him.

One moment they were speaking and the next her father was on the ground, a pool of blood surrounded him. They attacked her father in the middle of the ballroom, the guests were stunned but only for a moment. It didn't take long before they continued to dance and eat like nothing had happened.

They just left her father on the ground like that.

That was when everybody screamed. It came from the servants who were the only ones who actually kept an eye on the situation. Those screams from the servants earned the other nobles attention. The sight everybody saw was horrific, not only did she impale the sword into the attacker. But she also picked up his heart detached from his body and played with it like some kind of toy.

The banquet hall was in chaos in seconds, the nobles were running around trying to escape. But nobody could get out, the royal knights had come. There stood in the entrance was her mother the Queen.

Lethia remembered that day so very clearly.

It was the first day her mother hit her.

Her thoughts broke off when she caught a glimpse of movement amongst the debris of the tower. 'I was so lost in thought that I didn't realize I was here already.' Lethia blinked when she saw the pieces of debris move.

Huh? She took a few steps forward and in that second a beam of black light burst causing the pieces of the broken tower to scatter. There stood a familiar man who wore a deep scowl on his face.

"Finally out. Damn her, I forgot she could do that."

Lethia stared in disbelief when she saw who it was.

She did think he was alive. After all, during that birthday banquet when that sword pierced him, he stood up after she attacked the attacker like nothing happened.

The disgusted look on those nobles' faces soon turned to fear, they looked at both her and her father like some type of monster.

But strange enough that was the day she got closer to her father.. He even picked her up and spun her around saying he was proud of her.
