Rebirth:The Badass Young Lady

Chapter 24 - Blue Sea And White Clouds

She went towards an antique association where the antiques are appraised and also helps sellers to sell their antiques through auctioning the item.

There were very experienced appraisers with deep love for antiques in the association. The Antique Association is actually a very big organisation which has many branches all over the country and also internationally well known too. The association is handled by the head of the council and the council members. The head of the association is very mysterious as no one has ever seen him nor is there any picture of him.

Those who wanted to know would mysteriously disappear from the world's surface, even their bodies aren't found as if they had just disappeared from existence. So people always feared and also admired this mysterious head of the association as they didn't dare to ever mess with him or the association.

The association only accepted those who had deep love for actiques and great talent, knowledge and experience about appraising antiques. They also specially recruited and trained talented individuals in appraising antiques.

When she got off the car, she saw a spacious building of 5 storeys tall. The building looked simple but the designs were elegantly beautiful and the mixture of blue and green made it look very refreshing and graceful in the eye. When she walked inside, the hall was very spacious as many people lined up for appraising their items.

The items decorated inside the building was even more luxurious but not too extravagantly but looked more elegant and calming. All the antiques showcased in the cupboards around the hall were giving off faint or bright lights which shocked Gu Xiao Yue a little. 'Were they all real?' is what she thought as she admired the uniqueness and the guts of the person who dared to keep real treasures showed and even put around so extravagantly.

The 3rd floor was for holding auction which was held every friday night in a week. It was open for public participation and didn't take out too much expensive antiques. The 4th floor was for VIP auctions which took place once every month. Only people with enough status and wealth were allowed to participate in the auction.

The items showcased in the auction were of top quality antiques of many years or decades of history. The 2nd floor was the place where the employees took rest and had their lunch. The top floor was offlimits to anyone who wasn't allowed to enter. Some said that the mysterious head of the association would stay in the top floor if he ever came to the city.

The security of the place was very good as the people didn't cross each other's line and if some fights or quarrel happened then the guards would handle them smoothly either from their words or fists.

She went to the back of the line to line up for her turn to appraise the tea cup set. There were still around 12 people ahead of her in line. A man was groaning in sadness when the appraiser told him that his antique was fake.

The appraiser was a good looking middle aged man with round glasses. He had his shoulder length silver hair tied in a braid as his short bangs hung on his face without obstructing his sight. He looked very attractive with the serious and calm look in his light blue eyes which made him look very professional.

He was wiping and cleaning as he appraised the next item in his hand with a serious look and gentle movement as if he was afraid of damaging the item even if it turned out to be fake. He really looked like he had deep love and affection towards antiques.

The item again turned out to be fake as he showed a bit of disappointment in his eyes but then became as usual, serious and calm.

Then an old man went up and gave him an old looking broken vase with flowers carved in it as half of it's appearance was hidden by the mud and dirt. It was white and green in colour.

The appraiser then wiped it gently as he appraised and he finished after a while. Then his eyes shone with bright light as his lips curved into a smile. He then said in a very soothing and cello like voice with a hint of excitement.

"It's a real one! It's the 'Flowers in sunset' vase which was owned by the marquis Zhou'An in Zhu dynasty! It is at least worth 4 million yuan in market price!"

"What?!"

"Flower in sunset vase! It's a very famous antique that every antique lovers were searching for!"

"4 million yuan! Thats very expensive!"

"Of course it would be! It's an item owned and favoured by the great marquis Zhou'An of Zhu dynasty! That old man is really very lucky!"

The crowd buzzed around as they exclaimed in shock, jealousy, envy and admiration. The old man who brought the vase was even more excited and elated. He thanked the appraiser as he paid the fee for the appraisal. Many wanted to buy his antique but he didn't agree as he seemed to have other ideas and many were disappointed.

Then the following appraisals were the same as usual, all fakes.

Gu Xiao Yue had used her ability to look at the antique in the old man's hands and there was a faint green light coming out of the antique while those in others hands didn't have it so she concluded that the ones with light were authentic ones while those who didn't weren't real.

Her turn came soon after as she then presented her tea cup set which looked very old and dirty. The spectating people were disdainful when they saw it's appearance and didn't believe it to be a real one. And it was also brought by a young girl so how can it be real?

The appraiser looked at the beautiful young girl and was dazed a bit by her beauty then he hurriedly turned his sight towards the tea cup set as to not get caught staring. He thought. 'What a beautiful girl!'

When his sight returned to the tea cup set, he then wiped the stains and mud in it as he appraised it. After a long while, tea cup finally showed some golden lining intricately done around the blue wave like carvings as it circled around the rims. His body trembled a little as his eyes widened and shone very brightly. He looked very excited as he looked at the tea cup set which now looked as new after cleaning it.

"It's.. It's actually the 'Blue sea and white clouds' tea cup set from 8000 years of history! It's the only one set of master piece made by master Jing Xiang which was then gifted to empress Han Xiu Jiao by the emperor of Chu dynasty, Chu Zhong Huang! It's a royal antique! This my first time seeing one with my own eyes! It's even more valuable than any medium grade glass type jade! It's a priceless treasure!"

Everyone in the venue gasped loudly in shock as they didn't think the antique brought by a young girl would actually be such a priceless tressure of such a long history! They were now very jealous and envious of the young girl who struck such dogshit luck!

But when they looked at the girl, they saw that she wasn't excited nor surprised as she looked very calm and indifferent to it. They were shocked and thought that either she was a young miss of a big family to be unfazed by the value of the antique or was just ignorant to it's value. Although she looked like that outside, she was actually shocked that the tea cup set had such history and was so priceless inside.

The appraiser spoke to her in an excited but restrained tone respectfully.

"Young miss, would you like to sell this antique to the association? We would definitely give you the best price to offer for it."

"I'm sorry but I'm not selling it. I'm only here to appraise it. Thank you for you hard work. I would like to pay the fee now." Gu Xiao Yue replied calmly as she denied without batting an eye. She didn't care about the price. She just liked the tea cup set and now that it was such a priceless treassure then the more reason she wouldn't sell it. Her grandpa's birthday was coming near so she will keep it as one of the gifts for his birthday.

The appraiser was saddened and disappointed but then again regained his excitement as he looked at the antique and was satisfied with just discovering a royal antique. "Please come again to appraise or auction off antiques here, young miss."he said that as he smiled gently.

Gu Xiao Yue also smiled then nodded at him and left with the tea cup set as she was followed by the burning stares from the spectators.

She then noticed a very burning gaze at her which made her have chills and turned around to find the source but she didn't find anyone so she thought she mistook it as she left the building.

A man was looking downstairs from the third floor as he looked at the back of Gu Xiao Yue with a glint of amus.e.m.e.nt and interest flashed through his black, deep eyes. He had his lips curled into a smile as no one could tell what he was thinking about at the moment.

'This girl is very interesting. The last time, she was fighting 1vs5 while now she had found a priceless antique of royalties.' He had seen her two times and she gave him new surprise each time. Now he felt every curious and interested in this young but m.a.t.u.r.e girl.

The man next to him also spoke up in admiration. "Amazing! Isn't this girl just too awesome? She has such great martial arts talent and even has talent in antiques and raw stone gambling! Is she made to make other's existence feel like nothing or what?"

They were actually the two men who had seen the scene where Gu Xiao Yue fought with the hooligans in the alleyway.
