Resurrected As A Sith Lord: A Star Wars Story

Chapter 8 - The Mind's Storm

Jason could hear Abeloth's voice in his mind, he could feel her pulling at the strings like he was a marionette doll, pulling him into the void of darkness. He was doing everything he could to resist her control over him. When he got to the hut, he burst through the door in a panic yelling for Amara.

"Amara, I need you! I can feel it pulling into the darkness!" Jason screamed as if his flesh was on fire. Amara came scrambling over to him with worry all over her face.

"Master, what is it you want me to do?!" she said frantically grabbing at her master trying to calm him.

"Amara sit before me, and I will walk you through it" he said with panic in his voice. He sat up and began trying to calm his mind and body, and Amara began to do the same thing.

"Amara, we need to be in sync for this to work, mind and body. Our breathing needs to be in sync, then once we have done that, you will need to place your hands over the temples of my head. I'm going to allow you inside of my mind, and you are going to have to expel the darkness out of my mind. Do you understand what I'm telling you?"

"I do master" she said with concern in her voice.

"Amara look at me. I don't know what you are going to see in there, but you can't lose yourself while you are in there. If you falter, then we may both end up lost to the dark side. I wouldn't ask you to do this if I didn't think you could handle it" he said with a half lie. He was aware of her capabilities to be able to do this but was she strong enough in spirit was the concern here.

She nodded to her master understanding the gravity of the situation. She put her hands over the sides of his forehead and took a deep breath to control her breathing. She closed her eyes as she dived into his mindscape. It was chaos and turmoil inside Jason's head, it was like a giant thunderstorm. One second it was total darkness, then the whole place would be lit up with a bright light.

There was a single path that lead into the interior of Jason's mind that lead into the eye of the storm. Amara began walking down the path being careful as to not step off the path. As she was walking, she could see memories of Jason's past, but they were all scrambled and distorted, as if there were two memories overlapping each other. Amara didn't understand what she was seeing in here, she only knew that she had to find her master and help him.

After having walked what seemed like hours, she finally made it made it to the center of the storm and she saw her master. Red lightning was striking down all around him keeping him from escaping the storm. The sound of a female laughing could be heard in the storm as Amara got closer to Jason.

"Master I'm here to help!" Amara shouted towards Jason.

"Amara, don't get to close, the lightning will kill you if get hit by it!" Jason had shouted back to her.

"Master I'm not leaving you here. Now you need to tell me what I need to do" Amara said.

Jason could feel the pressure of the storm increasing around him as Abeloth continued to attack his psyche and spirit. Abeloth had placed a part of her spirit inside Jason when she had revived him. He wasn't completely sure of it at first, but this attack on him now proves it, to ensure that he would do as she commanded of him, but he wasn't going to let her have him.

"Okay Amara, here's what we're going to do. We need to concentrate on creating a barrier so we can get out of here. Now first things first, we need to kneel together and focus on creating a physical barrier."

Amara nodded and took a kneeling position in front of Jason on the other side of the lightning strikes, and they began creating a force barrier around them. The lightning intensified around them breaking their barrier. They were struggling trying to keep the barrier up, Jason began to think that they weren't going to get out alive. That's when Jason decided to tap into the power from the fountain and the dark side to get them out of this situation, hoping he wouldn't lose himself to it. He tapped into his anger of Abeloth and made the barrier for them to get out of the storm.

When he got the barrier up, he could feel the storm weaken, as if this is exactly what Abeloth wanted from him. He led Amara and himself out of the lightning and storm, safely outside into the calm parts of his mind. He walked her back to the start of the path where she entered his mind back to the real world.

When Amara woke up, she was back in her body, sweating profusely, exhausted from the experience. When she looked up, Jason was also exhausted and sweating and extremely weak. Before she could say anything to him, he fell forward passing out in front of her.

"Master!" she shouted. Amara scurried over to her master and rolled him over to his back. He was unconscious, running a fever. She quickly got his top tunic off and put him on top of his sleep roll. She quickly ran over to the sink and got a wet washcloth and put it on his forehead. She sat with him and tried some simple healing techniques that she learned from the academy trying help bring him out of this state.

After a while she was able to bring down his fever and get him stable but was still out cold. It was around two am in the morning when Amara passed out from the exhaustion of using the force on him trying to get him to wake up. Amara woke up around eight in the morning and to find her master sitting in front of the window of there hut.

When Jason heard Amara stir from her sleep, he turned to look at her with a smile on his face. "Good morning Amara, how are you feeling?"

"Good morning master" she smiled. "I'm doing fine master, but I'm worried about you. You were unconscious for a long time, I almost thought you weren't going to make it."

Jason left out a little chuckle. "No Amara I'm fine, I promise. I just overexerted my power back there, that's all. No need to worry about me my padawan" he smiled at her.

Amara was skeptical about her master's health, but she wasn't going to argue with him this time, instead she just smiled back at him and nodded. She got up from her sleep bag and stretched, when suddenly her stomach rumbled loudly.

"Well that was embarrassing to hear, guess that means it's time for breakfast huh master?" she said with a smile on her face.

Jason laughed a little "Yes, I suppose it is my padawan" he said as he got up from the floor and walked out the hut with her to go to the cafeteria.

When they got to the cafeteria, Jason could feel the difference of the masters that were involved in the ritual in the cafeteria. He could feel the dark side in the room, and it was tugging at his darkness in his heart. He could feel tension in Amara as well, he knew that she could sense the change too. They got some food and sat down in the back kind of away from the others.

Shortly after they got there, Master Muur walked into the cafeteria. "Ten minutes, everybody meets in the quarry, Master Pall has an announcement to make" he said with a cynical smile on his face and left the cafeteria.

Jason and Amara looked at each other and shared a worried look about what the meeting could be about. After they finished eating, they left to go to the quarry. They were some of the last to arrive to the gathering and stood in the back of the group to listen to what Pall had to say. Pall took up the center of the audience to address everybody.

"Tomorrow, when the supply sh.i.p.s come to collect the next shipment of ore, we are going to hijack them, and we strike the planet Taanab. There we will transform the natives there into our army and kill any Republic soldiers and Jedi there that would dare oppose us" he shouted to his masses.

Palls followers applauded his speech and cheered him on, while Jason stood there watching it all unfold. Jason wanted to intervene in all of this, but knew that if he did, he and Amara would wind up dead, and if they left, they would be hunted down by Pall and his followers, and he needed to get stronger too, so he decided the best course was to do what the Old Man said for him to do, and just go with the flow of it.
