The next day in Oobleck class, Mesa is sleeping at the back as usual, ignoring the whole lecture. In front, Jaune was sleeping while resting his head while a constantly-zooming and fast-talking Oobleck is in the middle of his hyperactive lecture, educating Weiss, Blake, Pyrrha and Cardin, who was sitting directly behind Jaune.

"This is prior to the Faunus Rights Revolution, more popularly known as the Faunus War! Humankind was quite, quite adamant about centralizing Faunus population in Menagerie. Now! While this must feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember that these are relatively recent events! Why, the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day! Now! Have any among you been subjugated or discriminated because of your Faunus heritage? " Oobleck

Every faunus in the class, raised their hands.

"Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember, students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence!" said looking at the students hands and continued "I mean, I mean, I mean just look at what happened to White Fang! Now, which one of you young scallions can tell me what many theorize to be the turning point in the third year of the war?"

Weiss raised her hand, Oobleck said " Yes?"

Weiss answered " The battle at Fort Castle! "

" Precisely! And, who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagune's forces?"

Unseen by the professor, Cardin flicked a paper football at Jaune's head, causing him to wake up.

" Hey! " Jaune

"Mr. Arc! Finally contributing to class! This is excellent! Excellent! What is the answer?" Oobleck misunderstood the situation.

"Uhhhh... The answer... The advantage... of the Faunus..." Jaune didn't what to say, he then looked behind Oobleck at Pyrrha, who motioned to her eyes.

" Uhh …. Binoculars!" Jaune didn't understand Pyrrha and went for the most obvious answer, he was pleased with his answer. But the class laughed at him. Pyrrha sighs and slapped a hand to her forehead as cardin pounded his fist on his desk while chortling.

"Very funny, Mr. Arc! Cardin! Perhaps you would care to share your thoughts on the subject!" Oobleck directed his attention to Cardin now.

"Well, I know it's a lot easier to train an animal than a soldier." Cardin answered

"You're not the most open-minded of individuals, are you, Cardin?" Pyrrha wasn't pleased with Cardin's words.

" You know! Cardin's answer is not correct, but has some truth to it. Look at him, he is a prime example that shows us how easy is to train an animal." Mesa first sentence after waking up was insulting Cardin.

Cardin growled but didn't dare to talk back to Mesa. On the other hand, Oobleck asked Mesa " Mr Uchiha, you are finally awake! Do you have answer to my question?"

Mesa looked at Oobleck and said boredly " The general was an idiot, that's all. I would have called him a monkey, but that would be insulting monkeys"

The students start laughing at Mesa's answer, Oobleck frownd and said " Not funny Mr Uchiha, The general was a smart man and have a lot of military accomplishment"

" Is that so? The general was a man who sent his army in without knowing what he is going to face? He didn't know his enemies numbers or capabilities. The general didn't know the Terrainو yet sent all of his army. He didn't bother to understand his enemies advantage and disadvantages. He attacked in the middle of night when his army is blind, giving his enemies all the advantage. He was nothing but a trash, blinded with his empty victories where he won simply because had better equipment and more soldiers. If he is not an idiot, what is he?" Mesa silenced everyone

Oobleck nodded then said " I wouldn't call him an idiot, he was more of an arrogant. That was his downfall, he didn't take the enemy seriously and got his army defeated and himself became a prisoner" after that, Oobleck continued his lecture until the bell rang

When all the students, were standing up and leaving, Oobleck spoke "Mr. Winc.h.e.s.ter! Please take your seat. You and Mr Arc can both see me after class for additional readings."

" Oohhh…." Jaune who barely started laughing at Cardin, slumped his shoulders

"You two have been struggling in my class since day one! Now, I don't know if it's a lack of interest, or just your stubborn nature, but whatever it is. It stops now! You've worked hard to gain entrance to this school, and we only accept the best of the best, so I expect you to act like it. History is important, gentlemen! If you can't learn from it …. you're destined to repeat it. Pages fifty-one to ninety-one! I want an essay on my desk by next class! Now! Run along."

With that, Jaune left the class with Cardin behind him. Suddenly Cardin pushed Jaune and laughed at him before leaving.

" You know, I really will break his legs" a pissed off Pyrrha said

" Jaune come with me, I need to talk with you ... alone" Mesa said and walked away, Jaune followed him, Pyrrha wanted to follow but she stopped herself, she thought [ He is with Mesa, Mesa should be able to help him better than me]. In the eyes of Pyrrha, Mesa might be annoying sometimes or cold. But he is a good person with a kind heart and a great friend, who will help his friends as much as he could. If she only knew the truth

At the roof, Mesa arrived with Jaune right behind him. Jaune asked Mesa " What do you want to talk about?"

" Jaune, how did you become a student here? With all honesty, you are lacking all basic skills and knowledge. You don't know how to fight or to even use your weapons. I started to think you came her by mistake." Mesa spoke coldly.

Jaune " I- I …. Faked my papers. I don't belong here " Jaune lowered his head.

Mesa smiled in his mind and said " You are my friend Jaune, but i will be blunt with you for your own good. You don't have what it takes to continue, just leave. You can still be a farmer or anything else. If it was you alone, it would have been fine to follow your dreams. But you are not, you are dragging your whole team down. You friend need to fight for you and protect. Think carefully "

With that Mesa left the depressed Jaune. After a minute, Jaune heard a mocking laugh, when he looked at the source he saw Cardin looking at him.

" I couldn't help but overhear you two from my dorm room. So, you snuck into Beacon, huh? I gotta say, Jaune, I never expected you to be such a rebel! " Cardin said smirking.

" Please, Cardin, please, don't tell anyone!" Jaune begged

" Jaune, come on! I'd never rat on a friend like that!" Cardin said with evil smirk

" A …. a friend?" Jaune asked

" Of course!" Cardin assured as he headlocked Jaune under his arm

"We're friends now, Jauney boy! And the way I see it, as long as you're there for me when I need you, we'll be friends for a long time. That being said, I really don't have time to do those extra readings Dr. Oobleck gave us today. Think you could take care of that for me, buddy? " Cardin spoke

Jaune could only grin sadly at Cardin.

" That's what I thought. Don't worry, Jaune, Your secret is safe with me" Saying his last piece, Cardin left Jaune at the roof and went back to his dorm
