Sasha's Dream

Chapter 16 - Acceptance

After that, she looked around Shito's house. It was full of technologies. There were wires and monitors here and there. There were also some complicated machines.

"Your house is fascinating!" Sasha finally said.

He felt proud of himself and started bragging as to his brilliance in such works and duties.

"That's wonderful!" She said as she really thought so. She did find out that his behavior and the way he talked were like those of an ordinary child. So, she refrained herself from telling him anything harshly.

"You are very amazing. I think, if your house is tidied up a bit, it'll took even more fantastic!" Sasha said to him being careful not to indicate the dirt and mess in the house.

Before Shito could say anything, Doko interrupted and agreed with her.

"Yeah! You tell him, Sasha. I've been suggesting him that for a long time now. But he doesn't listen at all!"

Perhaps the way Doko commented had triggered Shito. Sasha's hard work of conveying the right words to Shito totally got ruined because of him. Out of embarrassment, Shito struggled a bit as he denied that fact openly.

"I- It's fine as it is!" He shouted.

Trying to take over control again, Sasha said,"I agree that it's fine. But will you let this sister make it even more perfect?"

He looked at her and started to think what he should say. The way Sasha addressed herself as his sister might've captured his heart.

"Well..."

"Please?" She requested again.

"Alright then! I'll leave it to you." He gave his approval at last.

Doko was surprised to see how she handled the situation. He couldn't be prouder of her. So, he secretly grinned at her. Having almost everything settled, Sasha turned at him and told him to take Shito to the village.

"Kum and the others will be happy to receive him, I'm certain," she said.

And so, Doko took Shito to the village as they discussed and Sasha started tiding up Shito's house. Shito's house was a lot cramped. It was small but there were so many things there. Fortunately, Sasha was accustomed to such situations. Her room in the other world was small, too. So, she learnt to organise lots of things attractively in small areas.

On the other hand, Doko started to attend to some simple works. When he was finished, he took Shito to the place where he, Sasha and the kids usually hanged out.

"Wait here for a bit," he said.

After that, he picked Kum and his friends and gathered them before Shito in a short time.

"Kids, this is Shito. Your new friend. Say hello!"

Before any of the children could say anything, Shito looked up at Doko and said angrily, "Hey! What are you doing?!"

Kum stepped forward and introduced himself.

"I'm Kum. P.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you, Shito!"

"I'm Laila. Hope we get along."

"Dinn here! Great to have you, Shito!"

"Hopp. Let's play, Shito!"

And a few more introduced themselves and called Shito by his name. At first, he got surprised to see the children being out in broad daylight. Soon afterwards, he got a lot irritated for being called by his name. But, he knew that they were a part of the village. So, he held back as much as he could.

"I'm not a child like you, you know?"

The children of course didn't know much about him. They had no way of knowing that he had actually lived for a long time.

"Of course you are!" Kum said.

Then he quickly held him by his arms and signalled his other friends.

"Do it!!!"

And then, all of them rushed to Shito and started tickling him everywhere. He tried his hardest to hold it in but he failed.

"Ha ha ha ha!!!"

He started to laugh loudly as any normal child would. Doko stared at him as it was a sight he never saw before and never thought of seeing it ever.

"See? You're just like us," Kum said while smiling at him.

Shito got embarrassed when he got back to his sense soon. He couldn't hold back any longer.

"No,I'm not!" He shouted and started chasing after him.

Kum and the others started running joyfully as if they had been just playing around.

"Come back here!!!" He shouted again.

Doko only observed them. As surprised as he could be, he had never expected Shito to be this childish.

"Sasha really is amazing," he thought.

He went after them and made sure they didn't cause any trouble. He also played some random games with them. One of them was 'Rock Paper Scissors' which Shito found very amusing. He didn't want to stop playing as he was very determined to win.

After playing all day, Doko and Shito finally returned to Shito's house. But, Shito was fast asleep in Doko's arms. Perhaps he was tired for playing for such a long time for the first time.

It was sunset and the door of his house was open. Sasha was standing in front of it, looking at them and smiling.

"We're back!" Doko said quietly.

"Welcome home!" She replied likewise.

He entered the room and put Shito on his bed carefully. He was surprised to see the changes in his house as he looked around.

"Let's head back home as well. I'm sure he'll be fine," Doko suggested.

"Sure."

Doko and Sasha reached home after a while. Sasha was a bit tired. She had dinner and went straight to bed. As for Doko, he headed out again after she had fallen asleep.

He went to the same high land he did before. There at the edge, he saw Lily staring at the night sky.

"Sorry. Did I make you wait long?"

"Not at all. I just came here."

Lily then turned around and faced him.

"So, how was your day?" She asked.

Doko told her about everything that had taken place that day. He also mentioned Sasha's deeds and Shito's changes.

"I'm amazed! I can't believe he acted that way," said Lily.

"But he did. I saw it with my own eyes."

After a short pause, Lily averted her eyes from him and said,"She must be really something. No wonder the supreme one accepted her arrival in this world."

"Yeah, she is. I knew it from the start."

She remembered her reason of going there that day. Doko promised her before that he would tell her everything later. That's why she was present. So, she finally asked him as to it.

He looked at her and prepared himself. Looking up at the starry sky, he began.

"This isn't the first time Sasha came to this world. She came here once before when she was a little kid. It was around the time when my home got filled with mist and fog. It was when the the people of this land started to live in solitary after the great continues disasters."

After a short pause, he continued, "She came running to me that day amidst the mist. She stood strongly before me and stared. She then called me by my name. Surprising enough, her thoughtful words removed all the mist and fog that had covered up my home. If I remember correctly, she said that she wanted to be my friend."

Then, he looked at Lily again and closed his eyes as he continued to recall.

"I showed her around this world. And, she greatly enjoyed it. She also expressed her d.e.s.i.r.e to stay here forever. But, I told her to grow up first and promised her to show her more of this world. Then, I sent her back to her own world."

After opening his eyes finally, he said, "That's about the gist of it."

After hearing him out, Lily at last said,"I see... Let me ask you one thing. Were you the one who brought Sasha here this time?"

"No, I wasn't. That's why I was surprised when I found her. I still wonder how she got here not once but twice without any of us, the guardians noticing."

"Maybe it was the supreme one, the spirit herself."

"Maybe... Or, there might also be something else. Something that we, the guardians don't know yet."

"Could be," Lily replied,"If so, I wouldn't doubt a thing. Because, now I know how capable Sasha is. I have hopes. Our land might actually be saved. The supreme spirit approved of it ,too, not to mention. "

After that, both of them stayed quiet and looked at the sky together.

"Finally, huh?"

"Yeah, finally."

Lily turned to him and said in a serious tone,"But, don't lose sight of her. Okay? As capable as she may be, she is still a child according to her own world. So, make sure to take proper care of her."

"Always have and always will." He said confidently.

And so, the night went on and both of them went back to their respective homes. Both of them slept with a mind full of worries.

But, a lot less than the usual.
