Thankfully, after the dangerous encounter from the Harpies during the first day of the trip, the incident was never seconded.

The ship heading to the Magus Academia was a smooth sailing one.

Mu Lingxi and Janus breathe a sigh of relief for this one. At least, they have less to worry about.

At first, they thought that their journey to this unknown water will be riddled with hardsh.i.p.s especially because of the stormy night way back during their departure seems to be a bad omen.

Signaling something unpleasant or unwanted was about to happen. But three months had past already since they left the land.

It was about time for them to see the Magus Academia, finally!

"Hmm... I wonder how long will it take for us before we were able to set foot at the Magus Academia."

Mu Lingxi blurted out as she greedily inhaled the fresh air. She was standing at the edge of the ship's deck with the railings supporting her lower body, preventing her to fall as she leans on it and spread her arms wide as if she was welcoming an embrace.

"This was so refreshing... Thank God, we are safe and everything was going smoothly. I hope it will continue like this... Haaaayyyy"

"MEOW"

[Well, you never know... We have to see. I suggest not to let your guard down. Life is always like this, the more things seems to be doing great, the more you have to stay vigilant.]

"Hey! Don't jinx it. Why are you being like that? Chillax. Come over here. Follow me"

"HEEEEEYYYYYYY LIFEEEEE!!!!!! WHATEVER YOUUU GOT THEREEEEE... BRING IT OOONNNNN!!!!!

"MEOW"

[Tsk. Have you got some loose screws in your head? What are you shouting for?]

"Tsk! This is what you called venting. Come... Try it!"

Janus rolled his eyes as he said that. His expression speaks as if he does not have any intention of doing it but he steps closer at the edge at the same time.

"MEOW"

[ Life????????? Well..... All I ask is for you is to be a little bit nicer. This little lass beside me has a lot to shoulder already. Please take it slowly....]

Janus did not say it out loud. He said it as a whisper, just like he was praying.]

Seeing her cat in that solemn moment as he mumbles under his breath with his eyes closed, Mu Lingxi had a sudden urge to hug her cute little black cat for some unknown reason.

It did not take long for Janus to feel that he was being lifted on the air.

"Ohh Janusssssss... My dearrrrrr...."

"Mu Lingxi hugged her cat tightly. His soft fur brought undeniable comfort to her as she places Janus next to her cheeks."

"MAWWWRRR"

Janus issued a low growling in annoyance as he keeps pushing Mu Lingxi's face away from him using his two paws.

He was trying hard to put a safe distance between him and his master.

"Oh c' mon! Let me kiss you... What's the matter? HAHA"

Mu Lingxi was pouting as she said that, she can't help but laugh seeing her cat struggling away from her kiss.

Janus' paws were pushing her mouth away. Annoying her cat this way never fails to brighten up her mood.

"Thank you, Janus..."

She said from her heart as she put her cat down.

When Janus finally regain his footing, he glared back at Mu Lingxi.

"Hmph! I was overthinking! This little lass can manage just fine. Go on life... She can take it all... Don't mind what I have said just a while ago. Haixt!!"

"No! Please! Listen! It's not what you're thinking... Wait....."

"Enough! Just leave her alone!"

Not too far from where they were standing, they heard a commotion.

It was a man and a lady engage in a heated argument.
