Spiritual Seed Awakening

While my main body enjoys a good nap, I remained on guard. My second body does not sleep and seems capable of longer awareness than my main body, but a soul I have found needs time to recharge as well.

For the first time since waking up in this situation, it occurs to me that this is the first time I have had time to relax and just think. I mean the soul manipulation practice was relaxing enough for me to goof off with the shapes I choose, but I had struggled to form those shapes.

I also had to plan how to defend myself under the threat of mysterious danger. I have my memories of a world where I was human, but those are not much help in this situation. I have a main body that lacks energy and will need quite a bit to grow.

So in sum, my main body is pretty much useless besides the whole can manipulate soul aspect. I also now have a second body that is a Corpse worm. This body will do for the short term for mobility reasons, but It seems to lack the same growth potential as my main body. I rather not abandon my second body at some point, but mabye that can be changed at some point since that energy from the rock seems to exist.

A seed can lay dormant for a thousand years, and still germinate. I remember hearing my grandmother tell me that as a child. She was doing her best to console me after my first attempt at gardening failed. So I do not fear my lifespan ending from natural causes anytime soon.

So having a second body that lacks the ability to grow with me is troubling. The worm is undead though so I won't have to worry about losing the body from age either. The worm also benefits from devouring the corpse worm soul. I already knew that corpse worms don't use soul power, and they feed off of corpse remains.

The new information I learned after sifting through its memories is that the energy from the stone can be used to strengthen their bodies. I'm calling the stone I took energy from a magic crystal. It's nerdy sounding , but hey, if you discover a stone that gives you mysterious energy, you can name it.

After thinking about what I have gained so far, and my current status, I am content with my level of progress. I am a pretty decent magical seed if I can toot my own horn. I want to eat more souls, but part of me feels bad for eating what my second body is.

[Corpse worms] are cannibals anyway, so I quickly lose that sentiment. Dog eat dog world I guess but works out for me. I notice in my excitement over the mana from the magic crystal that I, in haste, left a trail of mana that is slowly fading right towards my main body. The trail is like a neon sign that says "all you can eat seed".

I quickly use the worm's body to put my main body in its mouth and move it a little ways off to the side of where the tail ends. My main body still has good camouflage. I will use this trail as a trap.

After waiting a while, a corpse worm as ragged as my second body before healing appears. It seems to poorly absorb mana from the tail. I await in ambush as the worm draws closer to me. I suddenly use my soul entangle the corpse worms.

I start trying to devour its soul. It's not a possession this time. I have better control of my soul now as threads of soul try and rip its a soul from its body.

While locked in a mental battle with my main body. My second body aims for its weak spot being the core of the [corpse worm]. It works as planned

The worm had no spare energy to defend itself. After the worm stops moving, I get another corpse worm soul. The baby in my core draws its soul into its mouth. This works nine more times before the mana trail fades.

The baby in my core seems full. I notice that the baby in my core has grown bigger again. That soul eating baby looks bloated, yet happy.

My second body seems to have gained some benefits as well from the cores. Its body seems to have gained a more complete body. It's gained a sort of more noble corpse worm aura as well.

The corpse wine poison also seems to have gained a new level of toxicity as well. I lazily looked around, and could not find more magic crystals. I take my main body and move not far, but distance myself from the spot where I enacted my plan.

I start to feel my total conscience fading into sleep, I use a portion of my soul to act as lookout eyes as both bodies begin to rest.
