Stardom - Logan Williams

Ryan started laughing:"Hahahaha. This is really good. Now fourth brother has to stop being lazy, there is someone who has a better IQ than him".

Henry looked at Logan and said in his lazy voice,"Whether it's me having a higher IQ or Third brother, isn't it the same? It will still be in the gang right?"

Everyone started laughing.

"So brat, nothing in the world can make you give away your laziness ,is that it?"

Everyone turned to look at the person who spoke to find Henry's dad with a glass of wine in his hands. Mr.Davis who was around 40 years of age, was very fit and was single. His wife, Henry's mother has died very early after Henry was born.

"Hi Dad.Isn't it rude to eavesdrop on someone?"Henry said with a smirk.

Jeremy Davis was a very successful businessman. He had taken over his father's construction company and turned himself into a real estate mogul. He had loved his wife dearly and his son more so. The only thing that pricked him was, his son wasting away his god given talent. He took everything for granted. He thought that given his talent he could do everything if he tried. He had no ambition, no motivation. Father-son had a really close relationship. Almost like friends. Having only each other for a family they were very close.

"Hello Uncle. Aren't you getting younger as the days go by? What's your secret?",greeted Logan.

Jeremy Davis started laughing;"You brat! Have you always been this cheeky?Logan,you have to help me motivate this fellow."

"Don't worry Uncle. We all are going to be pretty busy with what I have in my mind. He will make you proud someday. Leave him to me", said Logan with mysterious glint.

Jeremy Davis felt gratified. Logan had been the only one who had been able bring some output from Henry. Henry who saw the mystery in Logan's eyes fell into deep contemplation.

Logan moved around effortlessly in the party. In his past life he had no connection to this type of society. But the previous Logan Williams had always been good at this. He had been cheeky, warm, respectful and easy to talk to. He exuded confidence of being born in a respectful family. And now after going through all those memories of previous Logan Williams so many times, he too exuded the same confidence. A star needed to have these social skills. His parents were just happy looking at him glide between people. They felt as though they had never lost him to a coma.

It was 9:30pm. Most of the guests had left. The only remaining ones were Logan's friends and their families. Logan tucked Mia in bed. After giving her a goodnight kiss ,promising her that he would attend her tea party and watching her sleep, he felt at peace. All the parents were chatting in the living room. Logan's friends and Bella gathered in his room. Ryan saw that Logan was looking all serious. He asked,"What's the matter third brother. Why so serious?"

Logan looked at him and said,"Eldest brother,what do you think of our families.? What strata of the society do you think our families fit in?"

"This question is more suited to Em. Her family has the most connections amongst us."

The Hall family was quite powerful politically. Her grandfather had been a US senator. Her father and her maternal uncle were congressmen. Her grandfather had died quite a few years ago, but the connections her grandfather had left still kept them powerful and decreased the curve of their decline.

Emily contemplated on how to answer these questions for a while and said,"If we divide the upper class of the society into three levels as upper, middle and lower then all your families come in the lower upper class. My family comes in the middle upper class but is moving towards the lower. In the upper class, come the powerful politicians and some big companies."

"What about above them?"

"I've only heard rumours about these entities. According to my father, these are the 5 big conglomerates and the White House. These are at the centre of power in the world.. To them we are just fries."

"What are the 5 bigs?"

"I only know the names of 3 of them. Aegis, Capiteus and Seo. According to what I have heard, all these have major involvements in every aspect of life. From pharmaceutical to entertainment, from technology to real estate. These big players only play behind the scenes."

The big five. Logan felt thrilled: "This question is for everyone here. What is power? What makes you an untouchable entity?"

"Money".

"Political connections".

"Knowledge".

Henry who had not yet answered said," The real power should be people. If you have control over the population , you have power. The big five have investments in all parts of human life which make them untouchable."

"Correct again, fourth brother as always." said Logan nodding his head.

"Big brother why are you asking such questions?", asked Bella.

"For the past 6 years of my life I have been powerless ,not being able to wield my own destiny. I have never told you this but I want to be entertainer. A singer, composer, actor. While doing this ,I don't want my fate to be decided by others. Em also wants to be a star. While eldest brother wants to pursue business management. Bella wants to be a neurosurgeon. Fourth brother wants to go for computer science. While we pursue our dreams we can't let our dreams be trample by others. For that we need power and money."

"I want to build an empire and for that I need you all. The road ahead is tough. So I am asking you all today officially if you all want to join me." Logan's aura became powerful as he said this.

"Since when did we need official announcements. I am with you in this all the way" said Ryan and put his hand forward.

"So am I", said Emily putting her hand on Ryan's.

"Me too. My old man would be relieved."said Henry doing the same.

"You know I am always with you big brother" said Bella.

"Good. It's decided then."said Logan triumphantly putting his hand on everyone's.

This day would be remembered forever.
