The CEO's Rented Wife

Chapter 80 - Learning to control

Before Lina and Wang had even reached the company, a wheel chair was ordered by the receptionist. A helper was present at the parking itself. Wang had already called the receptionist to arrange for everything.

Wang helped Lina in getting out of the car and sitting on the wheelchair. "It's a long walk from here to the office. The helper will take you to the lift on the wheelchair," smiled Wang as he placed his right hand on one of Lina's shoulders. "Don't worry about anything. Everyone makes mistakes. What happened at the beach was just an accident. Fortunately, Miss. Johnson did not react much to this incident and everything is back to normal. You can also stop thinking about it and focus on your work, just like you always do," encouraged Wang.

Robin was pleased at Wang's gesture. It was Wang's good nature that had made Robin a big fan of his boss.

The helper took Lina towards the nearest elevator and Wang walked towards the company's Lobby so as to have a detailed inspection of everything.

Wang had crossed the main door of the lobby and was soon out of Lina's sight. The helper moved the chair slowly as he drove Lina, in the wheel chair, towards the nearest elevator. The chair was immediately stopped by someone. It was Chunhua. She had gestured the helper to stop the wheel chair. Smith and Chunhua had reached the company back from the beach, even before Wang and Lina could.

------

While at the beach, Chunhua became very restless at the thought of Lina alone with Wang inside the car and at the company. She had never felt so threatened by a girl's presence earlier. She was left with no other option but to act like being sick. She wanted to leave the scene and be with Wang. Plus, she wanted revenge. She wanted to harass Lina and throw her out of the company.

Chunhua asked Smith to help her get back to the office, where she could take her belongings and head back to her home to take some rest. While Smith was more than happy to help his crush, he had little idea of what Chunhua had in her mind. She did not want Lina to have any closeness to Wang.

After having reached the company, Smith parked the car. As both of them walked towards the office, they saw Lina being taken on a wheel chair. Chunhua got furious as soon as she saw the crimson haired girl. She gestured the helper to stop moving the chair as she walked towards them with a determined look.

Smith followed Chunhua so as to observe what was going to happen. He knew that Chunhua wasn't in a good mood.

------

As both of them reached near Lina, Smith was the first one to speak. "Hey! I thought Wang was going to drop you at your home! How is your foot now?" he smiled.

"I am okay. Thanks for asking," smiled Lina. "I thought you two were going to stay at the beach's hotel," wondered Lina.

While Smith was being caring and gentle, Chunhua was in no mood to act in that manner. She was furious. Her eyes were red as she looked at Lina and spoke. "We did plan that way.. But, then I thought about Wang. He would not be able to do anything without me. And all of us know.. you are too clumsy to be given any responsibility."

Smith was surprised at Chunhua's rude words. He tried to calm down the situation. "Ehh! Lina tried her best. You should have seen her before she got her foot injured. She was the most hardworking of all the team members," responded Smith.

Chunhua objected to Smith's words. "I wonder if the purpose was to complete the tasks.. or to be the center of attraction. You know.. some girls are that way! They would never feel at peace unless they become the center of everyone's attraction. And, they would go to any extent to do that. They would not stop even if they have to run here and there or fake an injury," commented Chunhua.

Lina and Smith were silent. They looked at each other with blank eyes. 'Is Chunhua talking about herself? Everything she said fits her so well,' thought both of them, but did not express it.

Smith looked at Chunhua and smiled. "Baby! How can someone be a center of attraction when you are there at the scene?" giggled Smith.

His words did not fail to impress Chunhua as she smiled in return. She, then, again looked towards Lina and spoke. "Looks like you are heading towards the office. If your foot is fine why are you bothering the helper? You should be walking," said Chunhua with a raised eyebrow.

Lina was losing her patience. Chunhua's words began to get on her nerves. She stood up on her feet in anger and her expressions were that of a fighter seeking revenge. She wanted to speak something but preferred to remain silent.

Smith reacted immediately. He held Chunhua by her hand and spoke. "Chunhua, I need a coffee. I am so tired from all the day's hard work," he said as he smiled and gestured Chunhua to walk towards the office's lobby with him.

Chunhua was satisfied after having invoked a sudden reaction from Lina. She gave a wicked smile and turned her back towards Lina, as both, Chunhua and Smith, began to walk towards the lobby area.

As Smith walked along with Chunhua, he turned his head back and looked at Lina. He gave a little smile and gestured her to sit down on the wheel chair.

But, Lina did not. She was feeling angry and frustrated. Destiny had taught her how to control her emotions. If something similar would have happened a few days back, Lina would have instantly jumped over Chunhua and pulled out all her hair in anger. She was the same girl who shouted on her boss when she worked at the restaurant. But, not now! She would manage all.. in a better manner.
