The CEO's Rented Wife

John kept on talking about Ning's husband, Jack, and his habit of flirting with other women. Ning wanted to get back to the main topic of Wang and Lina. With a little mention of 'John's salary increment', Ning was finally able to get Jack on the track.

"John, tell me about the performance of Wang's new personal assistant - that crimson haired girl.. Oh! I forgot her name," lied Ning.

"Lina.. her name is Lina," replied John. "She is totally incompetent. But, I have to accept that she is a hard worker. She tries her best to complete all the tasks assigned to her, but her clumsy nature always makes her land into some sort of trouble," giggled John as he remembered the scene at the beach.

"I could observe that! I saw what she did to Sparklet Johnson on the beach. It was such a funny scene," laughed Ning as she tried to hide her anxiety. "What did Wang do about that? Did he take any action against Lina?" Ning inquired.

"No.. not at all. Right from the day Lina has joined the company, Wang is behaving very differently. Did you see how he ran on the beach to help Lina, after the accident.. as if he was some prince running to help a damsel in distress," laughed John.

"Haha! Yes, I saw that. I was surprised too. Did you notice Chunhua's face when Wang carried Lina in his arms?" giggled Ning as she waited for John's reaction to the mention of Chunhua's name.

"Haha! Yes, I saw her face. She looked so angry and pale. It was a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to see in her such a position," shared John.

"Same here! I felt immense satisfaction as I watched Chunhua's pale face," laughed Ning. "Do you think that Wang likes the new personal assistant?" asked Ning.

"Something different is going on in the company. Wang had never allowed any incompetent employee to stay in the company for even a day. He seemed to have a soft corner for this new girl. There is something about this girl that is very attractive.. probably her innocence. She's like an innocent creature among all the devils in the company. I think Wang is being protective of her," shared John.

"John! I'm so glad that you came here to talk to me," smiled Ning as John's words had reduced her anxiety to a great extent.

John and Ning's interaction was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell.

A few minutes later, Ning's maid, Sara, walked to the backside of the mansion, where John and Ning were sitting. She walked near to Ning and spoke in her right ear. "Mr. Wang's personal assistant, Lina, is here to see you," she said.

"What?" Ning was surprised. She immediately stood up from her seat and began to walk hastily towards the mansion's door. She stopped for a minute and spoke. "John, someone is here to see me. I would have to go and attend the guest. Thank you for coming here. You can go back to the office from this back gate," instructed Ning. She did not want John to know that Lina was here to see her.

"Have a good day, Mrs. Ning. Let me know when you are free for a personal shoot of yours. And you can call me anytime if you want to know about any more gossips related to the company" John smiled at Ning and walked out of the back gate.

Aunt Ning walked hastily towards the mansion with her maid. "Can't you talk slowly? Why do you have to yell everything before everyone?" Ning scolded the maid. She wondered if John had listened to her or not.

Ning walked towards the main door and saw Lina standing there. She was holding a lot many boxes in her hands.

"Why are you here? Why are you not with Wang? I told you to be near Wang always," scolded Ning.

"CEO Wang asked me to give these foot wears to you. These are the latest footwear designs that are to be launched by the company. There are some more inside the taxi," sighed Lina.

Ning gestured her maid to help Lina in bringing all the boxes of footwear from the taxi to her house.

"Lina, I am waiting for you in the lobby. Come to me when you are done with these footwears," ordered Ning as she walked towards her lobby.
