The Chronicles Of Rhaxtyx

Chapter 27 - New Spell New Trouble

"So, I have a proposal for you." (Rhaxtyx)

Rhaxtyx said as he pointed with his index fingers and lifted his thumbs. The assassin was confused by all this but she didn't break her expressionless face. She gave a small head lift to tell Rhaxtyx continue.

"Alright, you are a good fighter. You are better than most people I've seen. I'm in the middle of building a team and a team needs fighters."

"I'm not a fighter."

"I know. You are an assassin and I need one. Every team needs some people to do their dirty deeds. And since you are free to think for yourself now I'm sure we can do a lot of fun stuff from now on."

"Fun? What is that?"

"Err… You're kidding right? Fun is a sensation when you do things that you like. Although I know a poem about it a certain bard would yell at me about how it's his. Think about it. You can do what you want while you are with me in your free time. I won't need your services for a while but I need you to be with me in certain situations so we can get to know each other."

When these words left Rhaxtyx's mouth, the assassin stopped to think. Then her cheeks tuned bright red and reached for her blade while speaking through her teeth.

"Do you think I would do such atrocious acts!?" (Assassin)

"Hmm?"

After Rhaxtyx gave it a thought he blushed and waved his arms in front of him.

"No! It's not what you think! I'm not interested in human females!"

"Don't tell me…"

She looked at Rhaxtyx with disgust and turned her head towards Badgey at the side, still cleaning itself. Badgey felt the gaze and looked back at her with its tongue still out.

"F*CK NO! NO NO!!! WHAT KIND OF THOUGHTS ARE IN YOUR HEAD!?"

Rhaxtyx tried to explain himself but things got more complicated after a point. After clearing this misunderstanding a bit, he sighed and continued.

"Look I'm not that kind of a person okay? I meant doing combat practices! Like going to missions together and stuff! Seriously…"

The assassin looked at Rhaxtyx and lowered her head. After a minute or so she lifted her eyes and just looked at Rhaxtyx.

"So?" (Rhaxtyx)

"…" (Assassin)

"Look you are a free person from now on so why don't you think about it, huh? I'm staying at Stampede Inn. It is easy to find so be there at dinner time if you accept. What do you say?"

"…Okay…"

After saying that, she turned around started walking and soon after she disappeared under the cover of the night. Rhaxtyx let out a huge sigh and massaged his temples.

"At least that's taken care of. Now it's time for the Black Leopard."

When he turned around, Badgey was in the process of biting its abdomen. Rhaxtyx was dumbfounded and angry at this sight.

"I swear. I swear I will kill you! You! Little! BASTARD!!! Didn't I tell you that you can't eat it?!"

When he pounced on Badgey, it quite easily dodged him. It dodged it better that it used to actually.

"Are you f*cking kidding me!? How can you dodge so easily? HOW!?"

Rhaxtyx ran after Badgey for a while. His fight with the leopard was beneficial for him in multiple levels. He was finally able to understand a couple of things about the Shadow Arts the he couldn't before. In truth, the leopard's teleporting ability was connected to the shadow arts somehow. He thought he could do something similar to that, not on the same level of course but something similar. So he tried to gather the nearby shadows around him and cloak his movements. This, however would be fruitless as when he tried that, the shadows would not move around him and as his focus was changed, he lost track of the movements of Badgey. When he looked in front of him again Badgey was was waiting for his arrival in front of Rhaxtyx's face while launching gas from its scent glands.

Rhaxtyx had no time to hold his breath. When he saw Badgey appearing right in front of his face and its b.u.t.t looking at him, he felt as if time slowed down. He saw little drops of liquid that produced the smell launching towards his face. He had no time to evade either as it was nearly point blank. And at that moment he knew, he f*cked up.

*Pffftgrgrgrgrgrgrhpfht*

"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

-------

As the assassin walked outside the small forest located next to Leilo, she was deep in thought. She had a lot happened to her today and her head was a bit heavy from all these new things.

'Free? Thinking? Fun? A lot has happened today. Uuu my head hurts so much. Plus who is that person anyway? Finding an {Observer} that easily and killing it.'

As she was thinking she heard a sound from within the forest. When she looked behind, she saw a lot of birds taking off and the voice of his liberator.

*Flap flap flap*

"uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!" (Rhaxtyx)

"A strange man indeed."

--------

"Bleeeh! Hah. Hah. Hah. Huu- BLEEEEH! I! F*cking! HATE YO-UMPH! BLEEEEEH!"

*Snicker* (Badgey)

"Umm… you okay pal?" (Yygdrasil)

"What… Hah. What do you want?"

"I would like a word with you."

"What?!"

"Actually… It would be better when you returned to the inn. 'Kay bye!"

"I hate you too…"

It took Rhaxtyx half an hour to be okay. He was exhausted from all that puking and nothing would come out after a point so it was more agonizing for him. His body was trembling and he was breathing heavily all the while Badgey laughing at him while rolling all over the place. Rhaxtyx wanted to kill it but he didn't even have the energy to talk. The only thing he could do was lying on the floor.

'I can't believe it would dare to… So this is my life now huh? A little bastard farting in my face. I'll kill one day!'

"What did that winter fuel tell me just now?"

"Hey I can hear you!"

"I have time so speak." (Rhaxtyx)

"Do you know what you did?" (Yggdrasil)

"Do I look like I know what you're talking about?"

"You seem to be able to combine two spells into one now."

"Huh? What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

"Something like a 'Fusion Spell' from my world. Just like its name suggests, it is a fusion of two or more spells."

"I see. I seem to vaguely remember something like that."

"It's funny how you don't remember the very concept you commanded."

"Well I don't really cast spells now do I? The last time I cast one was waaaay back. Now that I remember it there are more than two combinations possible right?"

"In theory, yes. But it will be hard here for that. You can't even cast an easy attack spell properly."

"Oi."

"It true though! Anyway I think you also have to use chants for this spell. You cast it when you chanted for the {Firebolt} before you let go of {Sonic Boom} I think you can use both their chants. Or you can always try to create a brand-new chant like you did until now."

"Would I explode with both options?"

"Most probably."

"I really hate you."

Rhaxtyx finally stood up and cleaned his clothes from dust. He looked at Badgey one more time and started walking towards the city while carrying the Black Leopard. Dawn would break soon and he wanted to have a nice breakfast in the inn. He took a piece of the Black Leopard with him, a piece of flesh, hoping it would act as enough proof of his subjugation.

He arrived at the city gates before dawn broke and waited for the gate to be unlocked under the suspicious gazes of guards. He smiled and waved at them in hopes of showing he was not a suspicious person. One of the guards approached him, a hand on his sword ready to pull it out.

"Good morning sir. May I ask who you are and what is your purpose?" (City Guard)

"Oh. My name is Rax and I'm an adventurer. This is my nameplate. I was on a mission all night and I finished just now. It was a subjugation request."

"I see. Thank you for your service to this city. May I see the mission acquisition papers and your nameplate please."

"Here."

Rhaxtyx pulled out what the guard asked and handed them. After that the guard went back to the little checkpoint under the walls and returned after a while.

"It all checks out. Wait until the gates are open and please do not cause any trouble. Some horse carriages may arrive soon."

"Don't worry mister guard. I won't cause any trouble unless they start."

"Somehow those words don't assure me at all."

"Hehe"

Time went on and sun started to rise from east. There were some carriages and some adventurers. Rhaxtyx was first in line and the city gates opened soon enough. He entered the city and made his way towards the guild. After handing the mission in and receiving his reward he went to the Stampede Inn to have some rest.

Breakfast was being served when he arrived. The old inn keeper called him with his hand and Rhaxtyx went to him.

"Morning son. Where've ya been al'night? Been worried sick y'knoe!"

"Sorry old man. Was on a mission all night. I'm tired so I'll skip this meal and just go to sleep."

"Kay. Ye be careful a'rite? Don want ya ded."

"I'll be, old man. See you."

"C ya."

With that Rhaxtyx made his way towards his room and entered. After he shut the door behind him he sighed and looked towards the corner.

"You can come out now."

The female assassin came out of the shadows of the room and looked at Rhaxtyx. Her face was expressionless as always. She changed her clothes from those black robes to a light leather armor that fit her tightly.

"To be frank I wasn't expecting you until about dinner time. That sure was quick. So?"

"I accept."

After speaking she kneeled down and lowered her head.
