"You shall receive divine judgement, demon."

"Really? And I assume you are the one to give it to me? Oh where are my manners? I forgot to ask for your name!"

"The likes of you don't deserve to know my name."

"Is it because I didn't give my name first? If that's so, I'm Rhaxtyx, the God of Magic."

"Hmph! Presumptuous. To name yourself as god that easily. That is more reason to kill you right where you stand!"

"Oh c'mon! Everyone assumes I'm not the God of Magic. Although I understand your reasoning, don't you think, given the evidence, you should believe it?"

"I've seen individuals a lot stronger than you."

The wizard started to descend the stairs to the walk way. Rhaxtyx's eyes were on her, assessing her strength. This irritated the wizard of course.

"I see you finally decided to step up." (Rhaxtyx)

"You are the one staring."

"I'm just trying to figure out your weaknesses."

"Well good luck with that."

With that the wizard once more planted her staff on the ground but this time it also created a gust of wind that swirled around her. Rhaxtyx got himself ready and started observing the mana patterns, it's flow and the wizard's mouth if she was chanting. She didn't look like she was chanting but a minute movement could be seen on her lips, meaning she was mumbling the chant.

"I hope you are ready to die, demon."

"Just launch the spell already. I'm getting bored."

"Very well. You will regret your uncaring words. {Azure Gale}"

With her last words, the wind picked up speed and turned a blue color just like the name suggested. As it sped up, it made cutting sounds and genuinely looked like there were blades of air spinning around. It was about two meters in height and looked like a small tornado. With a wave of her staff, the wizard launched this small-scale hurricane towards Rhaxtyx.

"Let's see what'll I learn this time! Come at me!"

"Hmph. Fool."

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH"

As soon as it hit Rhaxtyx, his skin was pierced and it began tearing apart. Countless small wounds appeared and he started bleeding from everywhere on his body. The pain he felt was immense, this could be seen from his scream.

"You should've at least tried and dodged. Your flesh will be torn apart and you will die a slow death. This is the end for you."

Rhaxtyx continued screaming as his flesh was cut. His face was lifted and it showed pain but in his eyes was joy, joy of learning a new spell. His mind was clear and he could think about this new spell.

'So this is how it works. You compress mana inside the wind. The formula… is there as well. I suppose if was fortunate that I opened the seal on that pendant. It looks like I can easily construct a new line of chant or two. Let's try it then.'

He lowered his head and looked at the wizard. The spell was still going on and it continued to cut him. But because of his regeneration he would quickly heal those wounds. The wizard was confused as well because this spell of hers was powerful enough to kill a second-tier magical beast like a Grizzled Iron Tusk in mere seconds, a minute if it was particularly strong. This spell was after all a tier 3 spell, containing three chants and more powerful mana.

Seeing her enemy not dying even after a full minute she started take a closer look and took him more seriously. When she focused, she could see that Rhaxtyx's wounds were healing at a visible rate right after the injury.

"I guess you are half decent. Not may people can cast a regeneration spell that effective."

"Would you believe if I said it is not a spell?"

"Don't joke around."

"Like I guessed. You still haven't told me your name y'know. Am I worthy to know it now?"

"Hmm… I guess you are worthy enough to at least hear it. My name is Katharina. Katharina Celest."

"That's a nice name."

"Are you trying to hit on me, demon?"

"Why would I do that? You are not my type at all."

"Hmph. So? You said it was your turn, right? Do your worst."

"As you wish.

{Blue gale, heed my call as I slaughter.

Hunt and slice my enemies with thine Azure Gale}"

"What?! {Azure Gale}?! That's impossible! It is a Tier 3 spell that requires a high mana and elemental control! How can you conjure it that easily?! And what is that chant?! That isn't the chant of that spell!"

"What can I say, I'm a bit of a special case. I hope you have prepared yourself Miss Katharina. Go."

With a flick of his wrist the spell was unleashed and made its way towards Katharina. The winds were especially brighter than Katharina's spell and they rotated faster. Seeing its speed, she immediately started chanting.

{Gather and put a shell around me, Great Barrier} (Katharina)

"Do you think that will be enough to protect yourself?"

Katharina quickly put up a barrier. It was half-transparent and only allowed air to come in and go out. As long as she didn't want it, nothing would be able to get in that barrier. The winds arrived at her and began assaulting the barrier after she put it.

The blue winds assaulted ceaselessly. With every strike, a screech was heard; like metal scraping against metal. The barrier was sturdy and firm and it did not allow the winds to come close to Katharina.

"Looks like it is enough after all! Hm… is it the chant somehow? Maybe being two lined causes the power to drop a bit. I'll look into it later." (Rhaxtyx)

After the assault continued for about a minute, the spell dispersed and a panting Katharina could be seen inside the barrier. Her gaze was serious and although she was panting, she was not in a bad situation. She fixed her dress and wielded her staff once more, dispersing the barrier.

"You are strong, stronger than I initially thought. I'll admit that. But let's see if you can resist this.

{I have walked and walked, until the earth ended.

I have seen the time eat away at everything.

It reshaped once more and crushed the old. Tremor}

While she chanted the earth started shaking, some of the statues even fell down and broke down. Cracks appeared and began spreading form under her feet. Walkway was in shambles after a couple of seconds and it didn't stop. Rhaxtyx had a hard time standing afoot, eventually falling down. Unfortunately the cracks appeared so that if he fell, he fell in one of those cracks. As soon as he fell in, the tremors stopped and made him stuck down there.

"Is this all? I thought that-" (Rhaxtyx)

{Flow, crash and find your way even through the tiniest cracks.

Fill up the empty spaces and take everything with you, Wave Crash} (Katharina)

"So that wasn't all. I see."

After her chant a wave appeared around her and made its way inside the cracks that appeared after the {Tremor} spell. It quickly filled up and moved onto the next empty space. This continued on and Rhaxtyx, being stuck inside, was not spared either. The wave was strong and could easily break many bones.

'Shit, that hurt! At least I'm free to move now. Well, apart the wave that takes me with it.'

The wave launched him to the surface once more and slammed him to the ground.

"*Inhale* Cough cough. That hurt."

"Are you going to admit defeat now?"

"Why would I?"

He got up with a grin while wiping a small trickle of blood from the corner of his lips. His eyes and figure radiated confidence.

"It's not like you can kill me."

"Hmph. You think you are all so powerful. Just look at you, getting smashed everywhere."

"Well that is true. I'm not that powerful right now. But I can still take you down."

"Well? Aren't you going to do it then?"

"Here I go then."

He opened his hands and pointed his palms towards Katharina. He smiled and spoke.

"You see, I'm starting to get a bit bored. Although I want to learn new spells, I don't have much time."

"What do you mean?"

"My friends are hiding you see and I want to finish this before they are caught. Therefore I will have to kill you here. Don't take this personally, you just decided to be in my way."

"So they are still nearby? I see. So you are saying you are going all out now. Let me see it then, your full power."

"Very well.

{Just like a lion marking its territory, I shall be heard from miles away,

After the shockwave shall come the fire and light the night aflame.}

In his right hand appeared a ball of hot energy. It was contained inside a thin air membrane, waiting to be unleashed. This was the spell {Blast Echo} Rhaxtyx learned by chance. But before he launched it, he started chanting another spell.

{Blue gale, heed my call as I slaughter.

Hunt and slice my enemies with thine Azure Gale}

In his left hand appeared the {Azure Gale}, but a really small version of it. It looked bluer than before because it was smaller and more concentrated. Rhaxtyx looked at his palms with satisfaction and played around with the spells in his hands.

"H-h-how is that possible! Even I can't dual cast with my level yet you-"

"I told you, I'm the God of Magic. I can do everything magic related, just give me enough time. Y'see, this is not that hard, you just have to concentrate reeeealy hard and voila! You can cast two separate spells at the same time."

"That, doesn't make any sense!"

"I'm sure you'd understand. I can, or should I say have you, experience it firsthand. Here I go!"

Rhaxtyx released the two spells and watched as they tore the air and rushed towards his enemy. {Azure Gale} became bigger as it flew and engulfed {Blast Echo}, making it shine brighter. Seeing this, Katharina casted {Great Barrier} a couple of time just to have a couple of extra layers. But what she didn't know was that Rhaxtyx applied a little bit more mana than usual to get the job done.

{Azure Gale} made contact with the barrier and started eating it away, slicing it into fine parts and dispersing it. {Blast Echo} did not take effect yet as it didn't made contact with anything yet.

"U-ugh! Uuuugh!" (Katharina)

Katharina was shocked at the power behind the spell. Her barrier was not even close to being enough as the fifth layer she put out of ten just got broken through. Even though {Azure Gale} was currently attacking the sixth layer, it didn't even lose any power and kept on going strongly.

'Why must I die this way? Why can't I do something to resist?! Why?!'

This was her thought about her current predicament. She felt death approaching and she did everything in her power to resist against it. She tried chanting for {Great Barrier} once more but as she started, the remaining layers flickered, indicating lowered power. This resulted because her concentration got divided by a large amount.

'Is this the end?'

Her sixth layer got breached and finally {Azure Gale} showed a sign of losing some power. To Katharina's disappointment, the lost power was insignificant to the power it still had.

'I see. This is my punishment. I just wished…'

Her seventh layer was broken through at this point. Her whole life flashed before her eyes, from her childhood to then.

'I wish I was killed not by a demon though.'

She looked at Rhaxtyx between the onslaught. His eyes were vibrant red and his white hair was dancing with the wind created by his spell. He was showing a small smile while looking at her. His posture was radiating confidence as he stood there.

'You will pay for this, demon.'

Her last layer of barrier was breached. When she expected to be shredded to pieces, she was shocked to find out that {Azure Gale} was over and only the {Blast Echo} remained. It ever so slowly approached her and when it was about to make contact with her, Rhaxtyx spoke with an apologetic tone.

"Don't hold this against me and don't take this personally. Like I said, you just decided to stand against me. I will not tolerate threats against my precious ones. I, God of Magic Rhaxtyx, will slaughter if necessary!"

After his words, Katharina's world became silent and all she could see was white. A final thought remained on her mind:

'God of Magic huh? Maybe… he is right. Is this perhaps…'

*BOOM!*
