The God System

Mary began to tell him of what she learned from the Magician's Guilds Library.

"The crystal ball was said to date back a long time ago, and is actually a famous evil item" Mary began.

"It was created by an evil wizard named Potter, who wanted revenge for his parents who had been killed by an enemy. The crystal ball was made to trap and torture souls, unable to release them for all eternity, or so it is said"

"Anyways, the evil wizard was eventually hunted down by the Magician's Guild, who then took the crystal ball away, and stored it in the main treasure vault in the capital city."

"However 100 years ago it was stolen by another evil wizard, who defected from the Magician's Guild, and is still on the run now."

"He has been capturing souls of the innocent for years but has recently gone into hiding because he was in the spotlight for a long time."

"It was also said that the last known victim he took was of a woman, who was said to be an otherworlder. Her name was Catherine Valentine. I suggest we do not dig any deeper into this because it may end up bad for us."

Hearing this Abel's face dropped and it became white. "What...what did you just say?" Abel said as his hands began shaking.

Mary looked at him in confusion as she said: "I said we should not-"

"BEFORE THAT!!!" Abel said standing up rage appearing on his face.

Mary looked hurt and confused, as Abel had never been angry at her before, but she replied anyways and said: "I said his last known victim was an otherworlder named Catherine Valentine".

"YOU ARE LYING!!" Abel said reaching and grabbing Mary's collar. "DON'T LIE TO ME!!! I KNOW YOU ARE LYING BECAUSE THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE!!!"

Mary was even more confused and tears began to appear in her eyes as she said: "Master I would never-".

"SHUTUP YOU STUPID WOMAN! YOU ARE JUST MAKING UP LIES BECAUSE YOU WANT TO TAKE HER PLACE! YOU WILL NEVER BE HER!" Abel said as he grasped Mary's throat and began to choke her while glaring at her.

Mary tried to say something, but with him squeezing her neck she was unable to even breath much less speak.

"NOW I WILL MAKE IT SO YOU CAN NEVER TAKE HER PLACE!" Abel roared.

Mary grabbed his arms, but she was not as strong as he was, so she could not move him. The only thing she thought she could do to free herself was to use the dagger he gave her as a last resort measure, but thinking of harming Abel pained her heart so she did nothing as Abel squeezed the life out of her.

Mary felt some comfort in the fact that the one who ended her life was the one she loved the most, even if he didn't feel the same.

Mary's vision began to turn white, as she looked into Abel's eyes filled with rage she fell lifeless in his arms. Normally this would be the moment where her love would scream in horror and pain, but Abel just looked down at her in disgust as he picked up his stuff and left the hotel room.
