The Heavenly Crystal

Roan looked at the infected guy and said "I know you are about to turn into an undead. And this guy over here will try to help you remove the infection."

"You said your name was Ford right?" asked Roan.

Ford nodded his head weakly.

Roan shifted his gaze towards Charles and said "Make sure he will survive."

"I'll do my best." he answered.

"Take off your shirt and let me see the wounded part." Charles said while looking at Ford's pale face.

Ford took off his shirt with great difficulty and all of them were shocked to see his wounds. There was a huge gaping wound above his waist like a huge flesh was bitten out of it. The ladies covered their eyes with their small hands, while the men frowned at the scene.

"Lie down in the sofa." Charles said.

"Don't worry, I will release the infection inside of you." he added.

Ford nodded his head with a weak smile on his pale face.

Charles handsome face was full of focus as he inserted the thin golden needles near the wounded part of Ford. He also performed hand techniques which left the onlookers in fascination.

Ford gritted his teeth and clenched his fists in great pain. He released muffled groans and his breathing grew heavier every second. Charles hands moved faster and he inserted the last needle. He then removed the needles in the blink of an eye and stinking black blood oozed out from where he inserted the needles.

Charles kept the golden needles and wiped the black blood on Ford with a clean cloth. Ford fainted from extreme pain and his eyebrows were still frowning despite his unconscious state.

"He will be fine for now, and don't worry he won't turn into an undead. But I still have to perform my acupuncture on him for 3 days to completely remove the infection." Charles said as he cleaned his hands with the alcohol that Roan provided him.

Roan patted Charles' shoulder and said "Good job!"

Charles smiled at him and looked at the unconscious Ford again.

"The ladies will do the cooking this time. Terrius follow me outside." Roan ordered towards the group.

"Follow Karl's orders for now" he added.

Karl nodded his head with a smile and the rest also nodded in response.

"Where will you go Roan?" asked the worried Ayesha.

"We will check the mansion thoroughly to ensure everyone's saftey." Roan answered indifferently.

"Be careful." She said with a small voice.

Roan ignored her and walked towards the door. He then smiled briefly while Terrius followed after him.

They all looked at their backs with complicated gazes.

Karl clapped his hands to release the group from their dazed state and said with a smile "Alright let's move. Ladies, I will buy the ingredients for you to cook. As for the men, follow me in moving our things."

Roan and Terrius went outside the walls and they saw a lot of beasts lurking in the shadows.

"Terrius, you take the left and I'll go check the right side. Be back in thirty minutes."

"Sure thing! Be careful buddy!" answered Terrius with a small laugh.

"Yeah, you too be careful." Roan said as he waved his hands.

Roan checked the perimeter carefully as some beasts were just waiting for him to be distracted. They can smell his strength, so they avoided frontal combat.

'They are getting smarter as they evolved' his body turned numb at the thought.

After thirty minutes, he went back towards the gate and saw Terrius waving his hands at him. Roan smiled and waves his hands in response.

"How is it?" he asked Terrius.

"There are some beasts, but they are too weak to be called danger." Terrius' said while shrugging his shoulders.

Roan laughed at his response.

"Let's head back and rest for now." he said as he looked at the already dark sky.

They then saw the men moving several things around.

"What are you guys doing?" Terrius asked.

"Karl said that we should prepare these things for tomorrow." they answered.

Roan nodded his head while Terrius scratched the back of his head.

"Get some food after your done here" he said.

"Yes sir!" they answered louder in unison after hearing that they will finally be able to eat.

They headed straight to the living room and saw Ford who was now awake.

"How do you feel now?" asked Roan.

"My body feels numb, but Charles said I will be fine." he answered weakly.

Roan nodded his head at the response.

"Everyone! Food is ready!" a lovely shout reached their ears. They saw Lily wearing apron as she called them in excitement.

"Terrius, call the rest. Tell them it is time to eat." Roan smiled at Terrius.

Terrius laughed and headed to the others' direction.

Lily was shocked after seeing Roan's smile. Her heart fluttered in a strange way and said instinctively "How handsome."

Roan heard her, but he just ignored her and headed straight to where the rest of the ladies were. They called him excitedly with huge smiles on their faces.

"Roan, we cooked delicious food from the ingredients Karl bought from the Store."

Roan sighed and then eventually showed them a slight smile which cause their little hearts to be captivated.

He then told them "Prepare the food you guys cooked for us to eat."

They nodded their heads in daze.

"Roan, how is it outside?" Karl's voice reached his ears.

"There were only weak beasts present outside." he answered.

Karl sighed in relief.

"Don't think too much about it for now. And besides we are no longer weak."

"Yes, you're right." Karl said with a smile.

"Food is ready!"

Roan looked at Karl and nodded his "Let's go eat first."
