After eating their fill, the men continued doing their jobs as per Karl's order.

"Terrius, Karl, I'll be on watch today since it was the both of you who stayed up all night yesterday" Roan said as he smiled at the both of them.

After leveling themselves and upgrading their overall stats, they don't need that much of sleeping time anymore. Four hours is more than enough time for Roan to sleep. He also planned on hunting the surrounding beasts at night to further strengthen himself.

Roan saw the men doing their job seriously. He then saw the mysterious Mark doing the same as the others, but with greater ease. His stats were already of the charts even if he is still level 1. Roan then decided to bring the guy on his level boosting plan.

"Mark, you're going with me this time." Roan said calmly is he looked at the indifferent gaze of the other guy. He is a lot calmer than the others and his gaze is also sharp despite being level 1.

Mark was confused after hearing that, but he still nodded his head in response.

"Good! Let's go now." Roan said as he started walking away. Mark followed him without hesitation.

"Where are we headed to?" he asked Roan.

Roan stopped walking and looked back at him. "Outside. I will help you get stronger."

Mark's lips twitched for a moment, before returning back to normal as he nodded his head in response. Roan was inwardly amazed at his indifferent attitude even after he said that they will be going outside the walls. Most of the normal people will feel a bit pressured, but Mark remained calm.

'How come this kind guy allowed himself to get trapped in that canteen?' Roan thought to himself.

"Before that, let me buy you some items first." Roan already collected a sizable amount of coins from killing beasts, so he bought a Gold level twin swords for Mark and a Gold level armor as well.

Roan handed the items to Mark, who equipped them immediately. They went outside the walls and searched for nearby beasts and undeads.

"Let"s go further." Roan said. Mark followed him while gazing at the dark corners of the road.

"You can sense them?" asked the shocked Roan.

Mark nodded his head and said "Yes, I can somewhat sense their presence hidden in the shadows."

Roan smiled strangely and then thought to himself 'He will be a very strong ally.'

Roan paused him steps and raised his right arm. Mark understood him and paused his steps as well. He then studied the surroundings carefully while holding the handles of his twin swords.

Roan sensed the approaching beast. He unsheathed his sword from its scabbard and flashed towards the beast. Although the beast was several times stronger than all the beasts they faced before, it was still several times weaker than Roan. He slashed his sword towards the beast, while it parried the attack using its sword-like horn. Roan added more strength on his grip, and was able to push back the beast. He then slashed towards the beast horizontally which created a sword wind that flashed towards the beast. One of the beast's legs was removed from its body impairing the beasts movements.

"Mark, kill it! Don't worry, I'll stay on guard to prevent you from dying." Roan shouted after seeing one of the beast's legs fly away from its body. Roan glared at the beast ferociously which greatly scared the beast, causing it to be stunned silly.

Mark flashed with great speed which is unbecoming for a level 1. He then usheathed both his swords and slashed towards the injured beast's neck.

"Splash!" The beast's head was severed by Mark's swift slash which created a splashing sound of blood pouring ceaselessly on the ground.

"Thud!" The beast's huge body fell to the ground with its own pool of blood.

Roan was amazed at how swift Mark slashed his sword. He was like a different person when he held his twin swords. Although the beast was scared from Roan's gaze, Mark's decisiveness in swiftly landing the killing blow was commendable.

"Let's go home now. You're already at the same level of strength or even stronger than Karl or Terrius. Good job!" Roan praised Mark as they headed home.

"Roan, thank you."

Roan paused his steps for a moment before he continued to walk. His lips lift up to form a slight smile, while Mark followed after him with steady steps as he looked at Roan gratefully.

They saw two silhouettes near the gate as they approached the mansion.

"Roan! Is that you?!" shouted the worried Karl.

"Buddy, where the f.u.c.k have you been?!" an even stronger shout reached their ears which cause the surrounding weak beasts to flee in terror.

Roan waved at them and said casually while pointing at a huge beast carcass on Mark's shoulder "We were out hunting for food."

Terrius and Karl were at loss for words at his casual reply.

"Let's go in." Roan said while laughing lightly.
