The Legacy Of Son Goku

Fia stared at the massive boar in front of her. Her hands holding her knives trembled feeling the pressure the monster's giving off. But her eyes still filled with resolution, she knew that if they were able to defeat it her family would be saved.

She made eye contact with Haruto and after he seemed to hesitate a little, he nodded and tensed their bodies. Haruto actually wanted to fight it alone since his most important objective were to completely integrated Goku's skills with his body.

And the beast in front of him was just a suitable opponent to do that. He could sense it's power and to his surprise it surpassed his level, at least currently. That's why he thought this was a great opportunity for him.

He observed the enemy in front and realized that it was significantly different than a standard boar. Besides the horn on it's head and large body, it had a huge tail about 2 meter long, the way it's tail moved was similar to a giant snake that's slithering around waiting to lash at it's target. Not to mentioned those tusks on it's mouth looked very sharp and tough.

Without waiting for the boar to made it's move they dashed forward right and left, surrounding both of it's sides. Fia held her knives and aimed to slash at it's flank. Haruto too tried to hit it with some ki blast on it's body at the other side.

The boar just stay still there without moving even while the energy bullets were fired at it's body. Fia approached near it's flank and swung her knife diagonally.

But before she managed to hit, she was struck at her c.h.e.s.t by the tail, sending her flying while spitting out blood from her mouth. The ki blasts then hit the giant boar and exploded, scattering dust and smoke but Haruto did not have anytime to care about that.

"Fia-san!!" He chased Fia after she crashed to a nearby tree, gritting her teeth whole holding her c.h.e.s.t in pain. She saw Haruto came to her with concern on his face.

"...I was careless." She talked while coughing up some blood.

"...You should rest for now, I don't think you would be able to continue to fight." It looked like her injuries were more severe than he thought. Half of her ribs were broken and her right arm was damaged too.

Although that strength when it whipped it's tail to hit her was frightening but the main reason Fia was done in by a single blow was because her physical strength was low, she mainly fought using her speed and agility and her [Growth] was more inclined toward those attributes too.

That's why she always tried her best to avoid an attack from her opponents but just now she did not expect for the tail to be that fast and let her guard down. She's really frustrated at this, it seemed she got agitated remembering her family and became reckless.

"...I still have to fight..."

"No, you can't. Just leave the rest to me. Drink a potion in your bag and stay right there."

"But you can't possibly face it alone! That monster is dangerous you know!?"

"And what can you do? In your current condition even if you join me you would just be a burden." He spoke the cruel fact harshly to her.

"!!" Her eyes opened wide in shock. She couldn't say anything back.

"...Just believe in me and stay right there. I'll definitely win and save your family." He smiled gently and pat her head. Fia's eyes turned moist and she gritted her teeth in frustration but somehow there's a strange feeling in her heart when she saw his gentle eyes and smile.

"..Alright I leave it to you, please be safe." She decided to believe him.

Haruto nodded and ran back to the boar's place. At the same time the dust and smoke cleared out, revealing the unscathed body of the beast. Haruto already expected this since it's energy did not decrease at all. The monsters in this world were also called as demonic beasts. They all possessed a demonic energy inside their body as opposed to ki and mana, increasing and mutating their bodies far above any ordinary beast. Even the weakest one among them (such as the wolves and giant worms he fought before) could easily rivaled a giant tyrannosaurus back on earth.

Though, that didn't mean the opponent in front of Haruto was a capable match for him, even a hundred of them would not faze him. Still, this is a good chance to have him get used on his new capabilities so why wouldn't he make use of this? His body was very stiff and he's not used on fighting so having a target practice is not a bad thing.

He walked right in front of it as he hopped to stretched his body before making a stance. He clenched his right fist and put it beside his waist. He raised his left arm in front of his face with the ring and pinky fingers fully bent and his index and middle fingers half-bent. This was Son Goku's fighting stance when he's a kid and backed on Dragon Ball Super.

He smirked,

"Come!"

"Groooaarrrr!!"

The boar charged at him with incredible speed. It aimed it's tucks at his c.h.e.s.t, trying to pierce through it.

Flinging himself to the side, he barely managed to evade it but a piece of his black tunic were torn a little.

Escaping narrowly, he felt a chill seeing the sharpness of the tusk that nearly reach his body.

'That was a close one, I need to be more careful.' He steadied himself again and this time he's the one that charged forward, launching a horizontal kick and landing a hit on it's head. Just now he was severely underestimating his opponent. He's not afraid of its strength but a sharp weapon could still injure his body if it was launched from a demonic beast.

The boar staggered a little but quickly recovered itself, it did not received much damage.

It roared furiously and jumped at him. Haruto side stepped to avoid it but a thin shadow attacked his right side. He blocked it with his arm and got pushed for a few meters. His right arm felt a bit shocked after blocking it's tail that attack him right after he dodged.

He pushed forward again releasing a few punches and the giant boar evaded and blocked some of them.

*BAM* *BAM*

The exchange of attacks continued between them with Haruto evading and parrying against them while landing a few hits on his own. His body was covered with bruises while his cloth was ruffled. But the boy kept smirking while he kept dealing with the attacks. The ground around the man and monster were cracked and crushed everywhere from their fierce clashes.

*BAM* *BAM* *BAM*

Fia saw the violent battle with her eyes widen, completely stupefied. She's really impressed with her partner's power, what he said before that he's able to match a blue rank adventurer was not a lie, even now he did not seem serious and intentionally stalled the battle while letting himself get hurt for some reason. Of course, there's no way she knew that Haruto let himself be injured so his body could adapt on fighting faster.

And as expected, after awhile the flow of the battle changed. Haruto no longer hit by it's attacks and his movement became smoother and sharper. He counterattacked more often and his blows getting more effective and powerful, landing solid hits on it's body.

The wound on the boar's body kept increasing and it's movement started to get slower while it's strength weakened, it growled pitifully. Haruto thought his progress on integrating the fighting skill was not bad and he already had enough playing around so it's about time to end this farce.

He jumped backward, forming his stance once again while gathering power inside his body.

*WHOOSH*

Haruto finally got serious, his aura then flared up fiercely, blowing the surroundings. The boar flinched and stepped back with a hint of terror on it's eyes.

Haruto vanished from it's sight and appeared right in front of it's eyes launching an uppercut towards it's chin. It couldn't react to the attack and got hit, lifting it's body upwards while it's vision was blurring from receiving a powerful blow.

He proceed to grab it's tail and swung it around, rotating it's body in high speed. And then he threw them upwards, sending it flying while he cupped his hands to his side.

"Ka...me..."

A sphere of blue colored energy formed inside his cupped hands.

"...ha...me....."

The sphere grew bigger and brighter while the boar kept flying in the sky. He then thrust his hands forward while he shouted,

"HAAAA!!!"

A blue energy beam was released from his hands aiming towards the flying giant boar. The boar was desperately trying to avoid it by flailing it's body but it couldn't stop the momentum, in the end it could only resign to it's fate and have the beam struck it's body, shattering it into pieces.

Haruto dispersed his aura and put down his extended hands. He relieved a sigh and wiped his sweat, this was his first tough battle.

"That was amazing Haruto-san."

He looked back and noticed Fia walked stuttering to him while holding his right arm with her left. She was smiling.

"Ahaha thank you for that. More importantly, are you alright with walking Fia-san?"

"Yes I'm alright, I already recovered a little using the potion."

Well certainly her condition already seemed better than before. But she still needed to get treated back in the town and rest for a week to recover.

"Let's collect the materials, fortunately you did not destroy it's body completely and one of it's tucks still remained."

Haruto twitched. That's right he forgot about that! He was caught up in the moment and launch a kamehameha without considering the proof for the quest....

"Y, yeah let's..."

He felt awkward and scratched his head. Fia giggled seeing that, she really thankful for his help defeating the giant mountain boar.

They collected the tusk and store it inside Fia's bag and made their way back to Calad.

A few hours later they already returned to the town and Elsie appeared before them, she already went ahead of them before and wait in front of the gate.

They proceed to redeem the quest to the guild. Rayne was stupefied when she saw them looking beaten up, she thought they had failed the quest and intended to scold them for not hearing her warnings, never did she expect them to actually won and complete the quest by themselves.

They went out from the guild after claiming their rewards, too bad that the other materials where destroyed by Haruto otherwise they would receive additional income.

He really wanted to take a picture of Rayne's face when she saw the proof of their success, it was magnificent.

"Well I guess we part ways here Fia-san."

"Fia."

"Huh?"

"Please call me Fia from now on and I will call you Haruto-nii too."

"What!? What are you saying?"

Haruto was stunned hearing her request to call her more casually and he took a critical hit when she also wanted to call him Haruto-nii.

Fia pleaded with her eyes and Haruto hesitated seeing that. He glanced toward Elsie asking her opinion. She replied by smiling brightly. Haruto sighed seeing that and smiled wryly.

"I understand, please take care of me from now on Fia."

"Un! Please take care of me too Haruto-nii!"

The smile she showed at that time was so bright and innocent, befitting of her 13 years old appearance unlike her previous m.a.t.u.r.e self.
