The Little Calamity

Inside of the box was around 50 of the earth embrace pill, so many of such a powerful item would drive anyone mad. Most people would take everything they could, hoping that nothing would happen to them and the rest would only take one for themselves.

Rayne picked up a single one, thinking of giving it to Arisa. He was confident that he would never be poisoned in his life and if this pill could grant someone the protection of the earth it didn't really matter if it went to him or Arisa. He never loved anyone else after all.

He knew that picking up one for himself would probably trigger a curse so he closed the box and tried to put it back in the hole, only to be blocked by a barrier.

' Why did he have to be such a fool... or rather he is hopelessly in love huh?'

The man used the tentacle to reopen the box and give Rayne a second pill for him to take. Seeing this Rayne wasn't polite and directly ate it, it was clear that the alchemist wanted him to take it and he knew that it wasn't dangerous for him.

As soon as he swallowed it he felt like the world around him started to twist, the walls started to crumble which caused a cave in. Giants rocks started to fall on him but it was too late to dodge already. His body was burning up, as if it was trying to defy fate itself.

The first giant rock fell directly on him, he was sure that he would die on impact yet strangely enough it passed through him as if it was water then it completely disappeared.

' The pill is absorbing the earth ki around to awaken, does it mean I need to bring Arisa to a cave to give this to her?'

Even through all of the pain he could think clearly, the pill was slowly melting his inside but he showed no emotion on his face. This was supposed to be a tribulation but Rayne easily walked over to any rock that fell, as if his body didn't just lose all of it's organs.

' What?'

The alchemist was looking at Rayne as if he was a monster. Even when he was a god this would have put him on the ground. It was supposed to test his willpower, just like any powerful pill. Just as he though that Rayne fell on the ground.

' Was he playing tough?'

That's when he remembered that the muscles would also be reformed, meaning that right now Rayne simply couldn't move. Once this process was done it moved to the skin, Rayne stood up again and walked towards the rocks to speed up the process again.

' Is he really like me? I swear I wasn't such a monster at his age.'

Rayne's skin turned into a sort of brown, flashing liquid while it was transforming him. It was a pretty weird sight that didn't continue for too long. Overall it only took the pill 10 minutes to reform him body.

Now that it was done Rayne started to dig out from the cave in, just as he expected it felt a little like when he was in water, there was barely any resistance as he swam through the rock.

' Wait! You little bastard!'

The alchemist swore at him before using the rest of his power to speed up the final step.

' Using my own gift to run away from me...'

A ring appeared on Rayne's finger, it was a dull black with nothing really on it however he instantly felt a connection with it. Sadly he wasn't a cultivator so he couldn't look inside just yet.

Although he was easily a hundred meters deep in the ground it didn't even take him 2 minutes to get out to the surface. He immediately noticed that the city was in chaos.

' I knew it, Arisa might be in danger.'

That's why he was in such a hurry to leave, he started running toward their house only to be stopped by a flash of light. Once the dust settled down Rayne saw a woman inside.

She had a beautiful motherly face that looked m.a.t.u.r.e. As soon as she saw him she smiled warmly, looking at him with her pink eyes. Her brown hair were tied in a single braid, she was definitely not someone that Rayne ever saw.

" Arisa, so this is how you look like?"

He always knew that she was hiding her real appearance, even her smell was different yet he immediately knew that it was her. He smiled at her, causing her heart to beat faster.

" You recognized me?"

He simply nodded at her question.

" You are so beautiful, it's a shame I couldn't see you like this before."

She looked at him, her pupils slowly transformed into hearts. If it wasn't for the situation she would definitely find a way to reward him.

" Thank you but the situation is quite bad. You probably won't be able to stay here anymore so that's why... do you wish to come with me?"

She was always scared of his reaction when he would learn that she was disguised during all this. That's why she stayed in this hell for three years, waiting for the right time to ask him but she didn't have a choice anymore. Rayne kept his smile, he couldn't stop staring at her beautiful face.

" I told you right? I want to be with you for the rest of my life. That mean I will follow you wherever you go."

He didn't know the meaning behind his words and neither did he know the meaning behind his feelings but that was the only thing he wished for. Arisa became a little fl.u.s.tered, her cheeks were completely red as she felt the urge to kiss him right here.

Although Rayne was dense she remembered all the time where he threw himself in front of an attack to protect her, he always watched over her and he made sure that she would always have something to eat, placing her happiness above even his own safety. Her disguise was the only thing that stopped her from trying to be his lover yet now this last barrier was gone. She gulped while looking at him but she knew that this wasn't the right time for this.

" Then hold on to me. We have to get away from here."

She knew that she was in an extremely bad position, especially since Rayne just killed 3 emperor level cultivators. Their sects would definitely try to get their revenge so she wanted to run quickly. Rayne hugged her without question, he loved feeling her warmth after all.

As soon as he did she crushed a black crystal, teleporting both of them far away. Rayne felt like he became blind for a few seconds but his vision quickly came back along with all of his other sense. He was still hugging Arisa, the only thing that was different was the location.

They were now in a dark cave but the lack of light didn't bother Rayne at all. He continued to look at Arisa's face, mesmerized by her beauty only to realize that she could also see in the dark.

Her pink eyes looked at him with happiness, he could even see the shape of hearts in her eyes. He felt his body heat up, making him take a step backward due to the overflowing emotion. That's when he felt an overwhelming energy course through his body, it was quite a pleasant feeling which only amplified his emotions. He could feel his body growing stronger by the second while the blood energy did it's job.

He quickly took out the earth's embrace pill that he picked up for her to calm himself down while burying the unknown emotions.

" This is a gift, you should eat it."

Arisa took it in her hand, Rayne was about to warn her when she directly swallowed it, not caring that the blood energy was also strengthening her body.

" Wait, it's painful!"

She trusted him so much that she didn't even hesitate before swallowing it. She immediately started to tremble in pain, Rayne immediately grabbed her in his arms to make sure she wouldn't fall then he gently started to walk towards rocks.

Arisa was gritting her teeth in pain so Rayne started petting her, remembering how good it felt when she did it for him. While doing this he placed her hands on various rocks to hasten things up for her, even in this state she could feel his love, lessening the pain by a lot.

This got rid of her last doubts, making her mind much more peaceful. She was comfortable enough to open her eyes and look at Rayne's worried expression.

' Once we are in the clan I won't hold back anymore.'
