When David came too, he was back in his cell. Thankfully he was not shackled like last time, and the pressure in his head was still there, hanging in the periphery of his mind like a wraith. It took quite a bit of effort for David to not think about the last thing he had experienced, the entire fight in the arena seemed to have taken something out of him. He might have stepped into that arena as the same innocent boy who was trying to make heads or tails of why he was stuck in an alternate universe, in his own alternate self.

Or was it the other way around, and he woke up to memories of his life in another world. Or some sick entity somewhere decided it would be quite a bit of fun if it stuck two alternate versions of the same person, and watched what happened like some sort of soap opera. David was not sure he would ever discover the answer to that question. The only thing he knew right now, was that he had stepped into that arena somewhat recognizable, even with all of the identity crisis he was going through.

But now he did not recognize himself, not anymore. He felt like now, there was a third person in this equation, a d this third person was born from the chaos of both Davids struggling for supremacy and clarity. The one thing that could be agreed up on however was that this new David was different, very, very different.

"I didn't think our time in the arena was the first time you killed."

At the sound of her voice, David felt a bit of his fears alleviate, it was peculiar to even him, but in the short time they had spent together, David had begun to depend on her. She was like a rock and a fortress that could hide him from the ugliness of this world.

"I have killed before.....once. But I had no choice, it was necessary for my survival. And...….he asked me to."

Lilith was sitting on a chair beside his bed, it was coupled with a bed side table and lamp, everything you would expect to see in a proper room. The décor was eye catching enough, but his gaze was focused on Lilith as she stared right back at him.

"If you have killed before, then why were you so shaken by it."

With the tone of voice she used David knew Lilith was aware why he had reacted like a total child after the fight was over. She was testing the waters, but for what David was not sure. This was apart of Lilith he had never seen before, she was usually so quick to get to the crux of any matter, and completely straight forward and rigid. But now she seemed so gentle, and normal, very unlike the fearsome monster he saw her as.

"I....I...I don't know."

David relied with his voice trembling, he could have given her the answer which she seeked, but doing so will mean acknowledging that there was something very wrong with him, that somehow in the span of half an hour in an arena, he had developed a taste for blood.

"You and I both know that's a lie Daniel. If you do not confront your fears, it will hunt you forever. Besides if you don't tell me I will rip your arm off and shove it into your asshole."

There she was, the real Lilith. No matter how gentle she acted, there was no way her real nature could be hidden for long, this woman was fierce, and if she did not get what she wanted in the first answer, she would resort to using her fists to get what she wanted. David had an instinctual fear of Lilith, but much like his bloodthirsty, he was afraid what that fear really made him want to do.

"I was so shake because I enjoyed it OK!. I could not believe that I will kill people, and enjoy every minute of it. I gave no value to their lives at all, not one bit. And a they died, there's was just this joy deep within my soul that made me hunger for more blood and carnage. I became a monster. And the way you looked at me then, it scared me, even now it haunts me."

"Are you always this much of a p.u.s.s.y."

David was so surprised by Lilith's insult he was rendered speechless, he though they were having a moment, that they were bonding. It seems like he was wrong.

"I looked at you that way because I was afraid you lost yourself, Killing changes everybody, even a saint. The easiest way to avoid the responsibility and guilt that comes with killing is to succ.u.mb to the self pity and loathing, or fall deeper into an open rabbit hole that will see you a slave to killing.

You took both steps David, you fell down the rabbit hole then pulled yourself out when you realized what happened, only to take the easy way out and start bitching and m.o.a.ning about how much of a monster you were.

Well guess what David, I'm even more of a monster than you are. I have killed kids, pregnant mothers, old grandparents and whole families. With the blood on my hands, it is easy for me to fall into depression or become a murdering maniac and kill every ten year old I come across.

But I know one thing, I have never killed because I wanted to, but because I had to. And even more so when my survival is on the line. You owe it to those guys who died to make sure their deaths were not in vain. It was either you or them, and you had to choose yourself. That was a sacrifice they made for you, even though they were not willing. So you better make that sacrifice count.

You're going to kill again David, if we're to survive and get to the city of iron, you're going to have to kill a lot. So it is in your best interest that you get to know the monster in you, and keep him ready because to survive, David the mechanic is not what we need, but David the monster."

Then Lilith did the strangest thing, she bent over and kissed David on his head. Her lips felt warm on his forehead, as David felt his cheeks tingle in embarrassment and his heart skipped multiple beats like a broken record player.

"Don't think this means I won't kill you."

Theme she turned and walked to the other end of the cell that somehow seemed to have grown bigger, and laid down on a second bed. She was fast asleep in moments, or at least David thought she was asleep. With Lilith he could never tell as that woman was the most complicated entity on this planet.

David thought about the kiss and what it meant, of course it was just a kiss to his forehead, so you can't really read much into it. But David felt the need to think there was something more in it. That somehow the Daylight Demon had fallen for him...…..even the thought alone sounded completely ridiculous to David. One armed and powerless or not, she was one of the most dangerous women on Pangea. A simple sneeze from her will kill him.

David shook his head, as he shifted his attention to something else. Thankfully his captors did not see the need to take his regulator away, so now David could pay a little attention to his stats and see how much he had grown.

NAME: DAVID JOHNSON IYE

AGE: NINTEEN

PHYSIQUE: LEVEL 1 (4.90)

AGILITY: LEVEL 1 (3.45)

MENTAL: LEVEL 2 (7.20)

PSY COLUMN: LEVEL 1

PSIONIC ABILITIES: TELEPATHY: LEVEL 2| TELEKINESIS: LEVEL 0| MOLECULAR RESTRUCTURE: LEVEL 0

ENERGY LEVEL UNSTABLE AND RISING

ESTIMATED TIME FOR NEXT ENERGY SURGE: 72:23:33

David was stronger, but at the moment he could not feel any of that strength considering he was still feeling weak from the last energy surge. However it did not seem like his body was through with his current evolutions, since he still and the tell tale pressure and the regulator estimated another energy surge in three days.

His weakness aside, he felt Luke he should be really happy about an increase in strength, at least that way, he could find a way to escape this fight club. But even then every evolution was a double edge sword. The process of breaking down his current body, or building and installing extra tid bits into his very D.N.A could go very wrong.

For him to successfully go through all of his evolutions, his cells and tissues will all have to stretched and compressed to levels a normal human could not handle. His entire gene pool will be baptized in a storm of energy that even with a slight miscalculation could prove fatal to him and leave him in quite a sorry state. He might grow a third leg, or just explode to keep things simple.

The only saving grace was the fact that with every evolution, everything in his body becomes stronger and more susceptible and flexible for the next energy surge.

But his evolutions aside, David needs to figure out a way to escape from this place. Biological abilities don't work In this place due to the Ionite arrays, but even then magic will still find it very difficult to find purchase. However during their fight David had noticed a few details about the security of the arena.

The earth element barrier would not function in a vicinity where Ionite was active, the compound nullifies every source if energy and power imaginable. For a barrier to work, that meant there was a blind spot in the arena, and to facilitate their escape, David had to find it.

His powers were much to weak to be able to lend any help or cause damage. However Lilith was a walking talking Armageddon. But to be honest she was weaker than David expected. The Lilith he knew from the tabloids and television was so powerful she could cause whole neighborhoods to turn to rubble. Now all she could do was turn an entire building to rubble with one punch.

It was not as if that level if strength was not impressive, on earth that would be a strength that rivals superman, however on Pangea, that level of physical strength could be considered quite average, so there was nothing much to it.

But in the end a plan to escape was easier said than done, David has not had enough interactions with their captors to be able to understand them, their habits and the way they acted. For his escape plan to work, he needed to have extensive knowledge of the guards, and the entire security detail of the arena, only then would he be able to play with this bozos, and find a way out of here.

But David knew he could not do much at the moment, he had to bid his time, and when he was ready, he would find a way out of this problem. After all he still had many unfulfilled promises to take care off.
