The Maniacal General With His Crazy System

Laura opened her eyes and the first thing she felt was a lonely sensation. She didn't know what happened, but when she was on Earth, her senses vanished completely before she was enveloped in a warm place. Nothing existed there, yet she felt comfortable there.

It wasn't until recently that she felt something wanting to drag her away from the warm comfortable place, even when she tried resisting, she couldn't stop from being pulled away. She began despairing for a brief moment as she had lost her only warmth, yet mere seconds later, she felt that she had a body once again. Laura opened her eyes and saw stars, planets and galaxies above her.

"So, I see that you are awake."

Laura heard a familiar soothing voice near her, she didn't know why, but as much as she was afraid of the owner of that voice, she couldn't help but to feel a warm sensation inside of her budding up.

Averill was gazing at Laura who woke up, her expression was rather cold and solemn as usual, yet he could also see her pupils trembling slightly. "I don't have time to waste, I will give you a brief explanation. The universe we were in got destroyed and this is my Domain, I am preparing to leave to the next universe to find soldiers." The usual weird smile was apparent on Averill's face as he spoke.

"So?" Laura replied in a rather cold voice as her cold eyes gazed at Averill, then over to Saitama who was dumbly looking at stuff around himself.

"That means you will have two choices." A grin slowly crept up on Averill's face as he waited a few seconds before continuing. "You will either join me, or die." The tone Averill used was soothing, yet as usual, beneath that caring and soothing voice was a snake ready to ambush anyone that came close.

Laura raised her eyebrows slightly when she heard Averill say that and her facial expression didn't even twitch. In the few moments that they spoke, Laura had almost figured out what had happened and what is happening. She might not like to speak much or speak her thoughts often, but Laura was far from stupid to not understand the things happening in front of her. "Of course I don't want to die, which leaves me to the other choice-"

But before Laura could continue speaking, Averill interrupted her. "Which leaves you to show your worth to me. I don't need anyone weak, fight that guy there, let me see how strong you have become." Averill simply wanted to test her, but if she refused in any way, he would have killed her. Which is why Averill did accept in making a body for Laura, as she wasn't simply a person who was naïve or stupid, because she knew her limit and the threats in front of her.

"Huh?" Saitama was slightly confused when he heard Averill saying that the woman had to fight him. But before he could think it through completely, he saw the woman suddenly appearing in front of him. Claws of metal was making its way towards his face, he could see that the claws were strong and sharp, and the speed behind it could reach even his own speed.

But Saitama wasn't weak either, he simply side stepped a few centimetres before the claws arrived in his previous location. Saitama's expression turned solemn as he gazed at the woman who had claws appearing on the back of her hands. The cold expression on the woman's face was something that he hadn't seen often.

Yet what surprised Saitama even more was how fast the woman was. Before he could even think straight once again, the woman appeared in front of him yet again. But this time, Saitama had enough of it, he delivered a punch towards the claws that were aiming for his eyes.

Averill was simply gazing at Laura and Saitama clashing against each other, it was simple to see who was winning as Saitama was become more serious over time. But even when Laura suffered some wounds on her body, her wounds would be healed within mere moments. "System, how strong is she compared to Saitama?" He asked in a casual voice, yet his sharp eyes were gazing at their movements.

[Host, Laura is no match against Saitama if he fights seriously. Laura can at most force Saitama to use around forty percent of his real strength due to her recovery abilities.] The System replied in a clear voice, it knew perfectly how strong both Laura and Saitama were, their weaknesses and strengths couldn't be hidden in its eyes.

"…" The grin on Averill's face vanished as a casual smile replaced it. "Better than nothing." When Averill was gazing at them fighting, his fingers also began twitching. "System, after all of this farce is done, bring us to another universe. Somewhere that has people with either strength or potential to be used by me."

The System didn't reply, but it began checking the many Universes that had been created.

Whilst the System was doing that, the battle between Laura and Saitama was coming to an end. Saitama was getting slightly irritated due to the cruelness behind Laura's attacks. She was aiming for his face and balls, even if she couldn't harm him too much, it was not a situation Saitama looked forward to, being attacked in such spots.

Saitama began releasing even more of his strength and speed. He punched faster and harder, he aimed at her shoulders so she couldn't use her claws any longer.

But Laura was aiming for this chance, when Saitama was aiming for her shoulders, she raised her right leg up and sent a swift kick towards Saitama's face, and claws appeared on the tip of her feet. Laura was able to see the shocked expression of Saitama for brief moment before he tried stepping backwards, but her claws on her feet grazed Saitama's cheek.

The skin on Saitama's face was injured slightly, blood didn't come out of his small 'wound', but it was a clear fact that Laura had managed to hit him when whilst he was much stronger and faster than her.

"That's enough for now, I can see that you are stronger now Laura, how does that feel?" Averill intervened the battle against the two as he had approximately confirmed how strong Laura was now.

Both Laura and Saitama stopped fighting, but both Laura and Averill could see that Saitama was grumbling and pouting as the 'battle' between him and Laura ended when she had hit him.

Laura's cold expression didn't change throughout the whole battle, she knew that the bald man was way stronger than her, yet she managed to injure him slightly. She then turned towards Averill, she was confused, but she knew one thing, the warm sensation she was feeling came from being near Averill, yet Laura wouldn't show any emotions in that regard.

"It feels… natural…" Laura had a slightly hard time figuring out the best word to use. She felt that her new body which allowed her such strength and speed was normal to her.
