The Maniacal General With His Crazy System

Chapter 39 - A nice looking home

Averill gave a quick glance at everything before he calmed himself down, because for some reason, he would feel an urge to kill others after seeing the small bit of his past life.

The feeling Averill was feeling was unknown to him, it wasn't hatred, nor was it anger. He didn't feel that he needed revenge either. What Averill felt from his memory was something that wanted to trigger his urges, his urges to get back what was his. But Averill didn't know what he was missing either, it was a long and dark circle of unknown which Averill tried to stay away from as he knew he would get dragged in deeper the more he thought of it.

"What kind of world is this?" Saitama was the first one to ask as he played with his feet whilst flying due to Averill's Magic Powers. He had a curious look on his face, he did manage to feel quite a few strong people on the planet, but none who could have harmed him.

The question which was asked by Saitama was something that Laura also wanted to ask of. She also put her gaze on Averill, wanting to know the answer.

Averill's smile turned slightly brighter as he slowly turned towards Saitama and Laura before responding in a calm and soothing voice. "This is a nice universe where I can find what I am looking for. But aside from that… you can also find what you're looking for in this universe, Saitama."

Saitama was puzzled for a brief moment before he caught on what Averill just said. 'He said this universe, not this world. How did he figure out that I have only gazed at this world and not further away? But… this makes my blood pumping faster, someone to actually fight with the risk of my life on the line…!' Saitama didn't know it himself, but his eyes subconsciously narrowed as his lips curved upwards into a smile.

With this weird comment from Averill, Laura only raised her eyebrows as she continued to gaze at him with a cold expression. "What kind of 'soldiers' are you actually looking for? You aren't making it easy on yourself." Laura mocked Averill a tiny bit as she felt more gutsy after getting stronger.

But there was a reason why Laura did all of this, it was because she didn't know how else to speak or mention her feelings. It was then that the cold eyes of Averill were locked onto Laura. Laura felt that her body turned into ice when the eyes of Averill's were put on her.

At that moment, a soothing voice sounded out. "A soldier, a warrior… They can be strong. They can be weak. But what they have in common is one thing, they are loyal. Are you loyal?" The soothing voice of Averill was more like a venomous snake that was prepared to bite anyone near it.

Averill was sure of one thing; he could always get more soldiers to follow him. No one were allowed to threaten his plans in any kind of way, be it enemies or his allies. And right now, in Averill's eyes, Laura might be a potential threat.

Laura had to grit her teeth as she couldn't even open her mouth to answer Averill's question. She couldn't feel any kind of pressure coming out of Averill, yet Laura felt her life would be obliterated the moment she showed any kind of thoughts that Averill didn't like. As much as Laura felt wronged, she knew it was her fault for speaking like that.

Even though she was tense, Laura relaxed her body, her body and mind went completely calm. No tremors could be seen in her eyes as she gazed at Averill. "I am." She replied in a calm voice, her tone didn't have a hint of any emotions than the calmness it brought forth.

"Good." Averill gave a nod before he turned towards the city. "We're getting us a stay to live in." Averill's eyes went towards a nice looking building in the outer circle of the city.

Before his voice could even be heard by Saitama and Laura, he used his Magic Powers to teleport the three of them into the said building which Averill gazed at moments before.

The building, or to be more correct, a mansion, was enormous. It was slightly older looking on the outside, but on the inside, it was quite modern.

But when the three people suddenly appeared in the house, several alarms could be heard like sirens.

Just the loud noise alone annoyed Saitama, Laura and even Averill.

"Averill, can't you do anything about it?!" Laura yelled as she tried holding her ears. Both she and Saitama could have easily destroyed the entire mansion, but they didn't want to destroy their new home.

Even Saitama nodded as he put his fingers in his ears, he was at least happy that he didn't hear much of the alarms banging around. Saitama was gazing at everything with a dumb smile, he had never lived in a nice place before as he was an orphan since a young age.

Averill waved his right hand as he used his Magic Powers to locate every tiny bit of electronic that could set out alarms and destroyed it into bits before they turned into dust. It only took Averill half a second before he managed to destroy all the alarms.

"What are the three of you doing here?" An elderly voice could be heard behind of Averill, Laura and Saitama.

The three of them turned around and gazed at an elderly man who was wearing a butler outfit. He had short white hair, no moustache nor beard, but his face was wrinkled. Even with three unknown people in the mansion, the old butler wasn't scared, but a little bit afraid.

"Hey! Are you the owner of this place, it looks really nice!" Saitama spoke in a rather loud voice as his ears were still hurting from the loud alarms that rang out like crazy merely seconds ago.

The old butler was very shocked and confused, he didn't know how three unknown people had managed to enter the mansion without any alarms ringing before they appeared in the middle of a room. "I am sorry to inform you, but this is not a place you are allowed to stay in. This is the Wayne Manor, and I have to ask the three of you to leave this place." The old butler was trying his best to keep his calmness in front of them.

Even when the old butler felt a threatening sensation from the bald man, he wasn't afraid of him. Nor was he afraid of the cold looking woman who kept her cold eyes on him. The one the old butler was most afraid of was the man behind the two of them, the one with black hair and red eyes that were sharper than knives. Because the old butler felt an eerie feeling from that said man, it was much worse than anything, just by seeing that man made the old butler's heart skip a beat from time to time.

"…" Averill gazed at the old butler before slowly walking towards him. It took Averill half a dozen seconds before he stood in front of the old butler, face to face. The smile on Averill's smile slowly crept upwards as he spoke in a calm yet soothing voice. "I don't care who this place belongs to. But, are you sure you want us to leave from this place…?"

The old butler froze when he heard the crazy man speak in such a voice whilst speaking like a maniac.

It was at that moment, the windows behind the old butler broke into pieces as a deep voice sounded out throughout the entire area. "ALFRED!!!!"
