"Hurry up, Luke!" Bella called out to me from up ahead. She was clearly excited to have finally reached the city of Feido.

In the distance, we could see massive white walls, stretching for miles in either direction. We were arriving from the east of the city, and had been following a road since a few days back. There were many caravans and horse drawn wagons which passed by as we neared Feido.

"Sheesh, I'm right behind you." I responded to her nagging with a laugh. As those words left my mouth, I quickly ran up behind Bella with a sharp burst of agility and poked her in the back, causing her to jump up in surprise.

"Hey! Don't do that! Ugh, I really hate that you have such high agility." Bella complained in response to my teasing. Bella suddenly went silent, clearly thinking about something. After a moment she said, "I wonder why Tenda wanted to stay in the village a bit longer. It would have been fun to continue adventuring with him."

I have to admit, Tenda was a good guy. I would have enjoyed if he stayed with us a bit longer. Too bad he claimed to have business still to do in Gryffon. "I'm sure whatever he's doing will be something we can ask him about next time we meet him." I said with a smile.

For the next two hours, Bella and I chatted about this and that until the walls of Feido were finally looming over us. The road led to a massive portcullis that acted as the main east gate to the city. There was a guardhouse connected to the walls from inside the city, and tens of guards were stationed along the top of the walls watching everything happening below.

Just before the portcullis, there were six guards, three on each side, doing ID checks on each person that passed through. For merchants and caravans, there was an extra stop to verify the goods being brought into and leaving the city.

We got in line behind a merchant who had hired three burly adventurers as guards and waited for our turn. The line stretched for quite a distance from the gates until our position in the line. Over the next few hours, we slowly moved towards the gate.

"Damn, I hate going to large cities like this. Their gates are always packed, making people wait in lane for ages." One of the adventurers guarding the merchant in front of us started complaining.

"At least in the Gordawn Dynasty, their cities have many gates in every direction so there is less traffic. In any case, that's our next destination. It's been many years since we were last there." Another adventurer replied to the first, though in a much more laid back manner. It seemed that this adventurer had more patience than the first.

I started wondering what this Gordawn Dynasty was like. If my memory serves me right, Gordawn Dynasty was to the north of the Velcaidian Empire. Gordawn Dynasty was a much smaller country, but had a peace treaty with the Velcaidian Empire.

The line moved forward more over the next hour and it was almost our turn to enter. The group before us was finally moved to the side so the guards could verify the merchants goods.

"Next!" A guard called out while beckoning us over to him. Bella and I took out our ID cards and handed them to the guard. He quickly went into the guardhouse and returned after scanning our ID Cards.

"You're free to enter the city. Keep in mind that the adventurers guild is in the center of the city, near the Lord's mansion and the central guardhouse. If you have questions, there is an information center near every gate, and in the central guardhouse. Enjoy your stay and welcome to the city of Feido!" The guard spoke as though he had rehearsed these lines for many hours.

I almost laughed at that thought and quickly moved away after a short thanks. Bella was already looking around at all the buildings and people passing by. "The city is really different from Desil! Look at how grand the buildings look!" Bella exclaimed in excitement while acting like a little child.

"They really do look grand. Although I think you're a bit too excited for just looking at some buildings." I replied in a somewhat condescending tone.

"Ah." She finally realized that she was really acting like a small child. She took a deep breath and slowly let it out. "Ok. I'm calm now." She said after a moment.

"Good. Now let's go find an inn to stay at. It would suck if we had nowhere to stay once night falls." I said as we walked deeper into the city.

Just as the sun was setting, we found ourselves in front of an inn called The Sleeper. We had found this inn thanks to an adventurer we bumped into on the street in the food district. According to him, this place had the best beds, and at a good price. I had no idea how much a night would cost in a city, so I hoped that we had enough money. I had nine gold coins, sixty three silver coins, and fifty copper coins. If the price was similar to what it was in Desil, I had more than enough. I was worried that wouldn't be the case, since the Feido was far larger than any town.

Bella opened the door and we both entered the building. There was no dining area in the inn, since they had decided to focus on the comfort of their rooms instead. We walked over to the receptionist as she looked up at us and smiled.

"How can I help the two of you? My name is Silvia, and welcome to The Sleeper Inn." Silvia said in a professional manner.

Bella spoke before I could. "How much does it cost for one room for the two of us for a week?"

I was surprised. I was sure we would be staying in different rooms. On closer inspection, Bella seemed to be slightly red. It appeared Bella was being quite daring.

Silvia gave a knowing smile and said, "One room with two beds will cost five silvers a night, so thirty five silvers for a week."

I took out the money from my bag and passed it over to Silvia. After she checked that it was the right amount, she took a key off the board behind her and passed it over to me. "Your room is number three thirteen on the third floor. Please enjoy your stay!"

Bella and I thanked Silvia for her help then headed up to our room. I inserted the key into the lock and with a satisfying click, the door opened and we entered our room.

The two beds were pushed up against each other, clearly meant for sleeping together. On each side there was a small table at the head of the beds, and a lamp sitting on top of each. A window was letting in a cool breeze from the wall to the left of the door. on the right side, another door lead to the bathroom. In summary, it was a room designed for couples.
