The Pokemon Emissary Among Worlds

Chapter 34 - Invitation (1)

"Wait, Okami-kun." Shikaku looked at Drowzee who was headbutting the thieves that were under 'Disable' attack. "Are you sure, Shikachu?"

Drowzee turned around and nodded as he dashed towards the shadow-bound thugs and giving them some thrashing.

Shikaku watched Inoichi's fight and saw that their enemies were subdued. When he remembered what Drowzee told him earlier, he smirked. He covered his ears and said, "You may sing now, Okami-kun."

Okami recalled that Shikaku's Drowzee had Forewarn ability and suspected that the Nara clan leader already knew what he was about to do. "Well, at least someone is going to fall for it."

Okami cleared his throat and with a loud voice, he said, "My dad wants to sing this song so much. This is titled 'The pokemon Song'. Hope you enjoy listening to my voice.

I wanna be the very best,

That no one ever was...

To catch them is my real test,

To train them is my cause...

I will travel across the land,

Searching far and wide...

Teach Pokemon to understand

the power that's inside."

"Good upbeat song!" Inoichi smiled as he tapped his right foot. "Very...nice...but why do I feel so...sleepy..."

Shikaku noticed that Inoichi's eyes were getting droopy. "Such a weird Jutsu."

Inoichi was still enjoying the beat when he saw that the thieves stopped fighting. Instead, they were all sleeping on the ground. Alarmed, he searched for Inochi and found that he was lying above the thieves' sleeping bodies. He looked at Okami and knew that this was the result of his singing. He let the chakra flow into his head so as to protect himself from sleeping as well.

"Shinransin no Jutsu." Inoichi directed the mind-controlling power against Okami, who suddenly stop singing.

Okami knew that Inoichi found out what he did. "Hey, Inoichi-san!"

Inoichi shook his head. "You've been very naughty, Okami-kun. You should dance after singing that song."

"Hey! I never thought that it will affect even you, promise!" Okami realized that his body was moving on its own. He began shaking his body as he did some embarrassing moves while lifting his hands to the sky. His body was about to somersault on his own when he noticed that he was able to move again.

Inoichi was shocked when he found out that his Jutsu was broken. The shortcoming of this Jutsu was an open book to Inoichi and he knew that the target must possess very strong willpower or an overwhelming chakra to forcefully overcome the Jutsu. For such a thing to happen meant that either Okami had either one of the two or both.

Shikaku tied each of the thieves' hands at their back and was about to unsummon Drowzee when he noticed Inoichi's reaction. He followed his gaze and saw Okami who was free from the Mind Body Disturbance Technique.

"Sorry, Inoichi-san. I thought that the song will only affect the enemies. I did not know that even allies are affected by it," Okami apologized to placate Inoichi's mood. "You've made me do some embarrassing moves, so we're even."

"Heh! It's okay," Inoichi said as he approached the young boy. "But tell me honestly, how did you break out of my Jutsu?"

Okami shook his head. "I'm not sure. But I have a wild guess."

"Enlighten me."

"Chansey's healer ability." Okami then explained to him what the ability can do.

Inoichi still had some doubts because the Healer ability, based on what Okami told him, only cures status conditions and does not cancel or nullifies attacks. "Well, whatever the case, let's finish this job and put them into prison."

Shikaku did not talk the entire time because he was analyzing everything that he witnessed earlier. After his deep rumination, he looked at Okami and said, "An anomaly."

Inoichi understood that Shikaku found out something about Okami's secrets. "Let's talk later. I bet the kid wants to rest from all these hullabaloos."

Okami nodded. "I guess we're done here. I still have to summon Rattata since he knows where Tomiro is right now."

Rattata appeared and squeaked when he saw that the thieves were already captured.

"Rattata, please show us where they hid Tomiro."

Rattata nodded and ran towards the east side of the room and began scratching the wall. Soon, the fake latch fell down and the hidden switch was exposed.

{Here, Okami. I saw them pressing this to get down.}

Okami hurried towards where Rattata was and pressed the switch. A trapdoor had opened, which led underground. He went downstairs and saw Tomiro who was gagged and unconscious.

Okami summoned Chansey and instructed the pokemon to heal him. He went back to where Inoichi and Shikaku were and told them that he found Tomiro.

"Okami, can you mass teleport these thieves towards the Academy?"

"Theoretically, I should be able to but my current strength could not do so," Okami answered as he remembered the mass teleportation of Palkia, which required high Dream Points.

"Ah! Then grow stronger so we can abuse that power," Inoichi joked. "Anyway, is the victim alright?"

Okami smiled. "Yes, Inoichi-san. As of now, I instructed Chansey to heal him but he still needs hospital treatment to ensure that there's nothing wrong with his body. Will you be okay here?"

"Don't worry about us, Okami-kun." Shikaku patted Drowzee's head, who was hugging his waist. "We'll deal with this. But make sure to report to the Hokage after you're done with Tomiro."

"Understood. See you later." Okami teleported directly to the bas.e.m.e.nt and touched the unconscious Tomiro. Once he was sure that no significant things were left, he teleported, this time, choosing to appear at the reception area.

As expected, people screamed when they saw someone appearing before them like that of a ghost.

The nurses were about to call for help when Reika recognized him. She stopped them and approached the kid who was stepping over a man lying on the ground.

"Okami-kun?! You scared the hell out of us!" Reika complained as she inspected the man's body. "What happened to him?"

"He is a kidnap victim, Reika-san. I don't know what they did to him but I found him unconscious when I've searched the bas.e.m.e.nt."

Okami then introduced who Tomiro was and explained what happened to him.

Reika nodded and asked for some assistance from the other nurses. "You may go back, Okami-kun. Let me handle this. You still have some things to finish."

Okami bowed down. "Thank you, Reika-san. I'll visit him later after I am done."

Reika gave him a thumbs-up. "No problem. In fact, what you are doing is worthy of recognition. Anyway, good luck and take care."

Okami waved his hands and teleported back to the Academy's entrance. He then proceeded to the Hokage's office and went inside after Hanshi allowed him to go in. "Reporting for duty, Hokage-sama."

Hiruzen chuckled. "Are you here to give a report?"

Okami nodded and recounted all the things that happened earlier. "That's the gist of it, Hokage-sama."

"Thank you for doing all of these things. Who knows what could have happened to that man when you were not around to save him." Hiruzen handed several scrolls to Okami. "Take this. Study them well."

Okami unfurled the scroll and saw that they were Jutsu scrolls. "Thank you for this wonderful gift, Hokage-sama!"

"Your welcome. I hope you can grow stronger to protect the village." Hiruzen paused for a bit as he took out a piece of scroll. "Anyway, there are some things that I wanted to know, Okami-kun. Will you do me the honor of explaining to me the ways of your Jutsu?"

Okami wondered what Hiruzen was curious about but he did not reject his request. "As long as it does not involve s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e issues about my clan, then I'll happily comply with any of your request, Hokage-sama."

Hiruzen was in deep thoughts before he began his question. "It's about the prophecy wherein Konoha will be attacked in the future and I will be put in grave danger. Is there any way we can determine when the attack will happen?"

"Yes. Our clan has ways of finding out the exact event that will happen in the future, including the time, location, and people who are involved. It's a Jutsu called Major Prophecy." Okami recalled the number of Dream Points he had to spend if he decided to activate the Jutsu, which was not worth it. Besides, his current DP could not support the Jutsu.

"Will you do it if I ask you?"

Okami shook his head. "I can't, Hokage-sama. My current power can't support the Jutsu. It requires high chakra and spiritual power to maintain it and puts a lot of strain to my body."

Hiruzen's face became down. "I see. Anyway, would you like to be a part of a division?"

"What is it?"

"Pokemon Intelligence Division."

Okami tilted his head. "What for?"

"It's a division that focuses on the use of pokemon and how they are to be integrated with the Jutsus. Inoichi and Shikaku insisted that such division should be created."

"Why?"

Hiruzen smiled. "They discovered a lot of things that they can integrate with as they fight using pokemon in 'Absorb' mode and with pokemon's assistance in 'Summon' mode. Especially Shikaku, he is loving his Drowzee so much that he had created new Jutsu together with Drowzee's powers. He boldly inferred that pokemon will increase the efficiency of ninjas by 200 percent."

Okami witnessed the Shika-Shika duo earlier and how they fought the thieves was truly an enlightening experience. But he was still shocked when he found out that Shikaku and Inoichi had discovered a lot of things without his help. It was truly an eye-opener for him that he should not underestimate the people inside this world because some of them were intelligent and resourceful as well."

"I'm interested, Hokage-sama. But there are a lot of things I still have to finish before I will join."

"Such as?"

Okami rolled back the scroll he received from Hiruzen and took out a card from his pocket. "Such as this. Here, take this, Hokage-sama."

Hiruzen opened the envelope and read the card. "Grand opening? PokeMart and Pokemon Center? What's this all about, Okami-kun?"

"Remember the house you've given me? I turned it into a Pokemon Center and PokeMart through the help of our clan's secrets," Okami explained.

Hiruzen remembered something and called Okami's attention. "When will it be?"

"The next day. Will it be alright to have such a celebration after the recent Zapdos' attack?"

"It's fine. Can I bring someone to tag along?"

"It is okay, Hokage-sama. But can you help me with Elder Danzo? He might attend the banquet and I really don't want him to be present."

Hiruzen understood why Okami was reacting that way towards Danzo. Even he himself who was his previous friend felt unsettled every time he was around. "Don't worry about it."

"Thank you," Okami hesitated for a few seconds, and asked, "Do you know where Team Akira is right now, Hokage-sama?"

"Yes. You want to give them an invitation?"

Okami nodded. "I really want them to be present. Please do tell me where to look for them, Hokage-sama."

Hiruzen opened the book that was lying on his table and found out Team Akira's schedule. "You may leave the card with me, Okami-kun. Rest assured, this invitation will reach them."

Okami gave him the cards. "Thanks. Anyway, I've got to go. I still have to visit someone. Goodbye, Hokage-sama."

"Goodbye, Okami-kun."
