The Princess And The Demon

Rima strolled the shore giving orders and organizing the army or what was left of it, this last attack caused them so many casualties, almost third of their soldiers were dead, so many were injured, the sh.i.p.s took their shares of the damage and with it their supplies, if her calculations were right, with their current numbers, they probably had enough food and water for two weeks, that gives them less than a single week to win this war and sail back, that didn't seem like an easy task considering the fact that they still didn't meet the real enemy, the Gods, to think they suffered such losses while fighting the peons only...

"My lady" Rima turned back toward the feminine voice, it was that shadow demon Andrea, wasn't she with Henry? seeing the frown and the question upon the ice queen's face, Andrea replied with a barely visible smirk on her beautiful face...

"King Henry asked for your presence as well as the rest of our forces, seems like he is planning to attack the castle"

Attack? Rima's frown deepened, she trusted Henry's judgements and military intelligence, but shouldn't they discuss it first? she is not some subordinate she is a queen and such life of death decisions are not to be taken without her consent...

Noticing the smirk grow on that Andrea's face she decided not to jump to any conclusions until she meets Henry, for some reason this girl was giving her the wrong vibes and she doubted what she said was true, well it could be true but not in the way she put it, making her, the ice queen, look like nothing but a subordinate to the human king...

"Alright, shall we? " Rima said with her head held high, refusing to let this weasel mess with her head, Andrea only smiled before adding...

"Oh but i should warn you my lady, the king is in a bad mood..."

Rima wanted to ask her why badly, but something inside her told her it would be wrong to follow this vixen to her den, nodding stiffly, she gave the orders for the army to start moving quickly in small packs, she walked through the forest sending her icy ghosts all around it to inspect any possible danger lurking behind the golden trees, luckily there was nothing out there but once the ghosts approached the castle's walls they evaporated instantly...

Reaching where the human king and some of the demons were, she watched him standing there in his full glory, imposing himself and claiming respect like the king he is, at that moment Rima's heart clenched as if it was expecting some damage, When he turned around and locked eyes with her, her doubts were confirmed...

The man who was hugging her a while a go with all his might was now starting at her accusingly, his eyes held disappointment and anger, he was few steps away but he seemed distant, she smiled at him, but he didn't smile back, instead he looked away...

Rima wanted to ask him what was wrong, but she knew it wasn't a good time with all eyes on them, she decided to wait a little until, maybe she will have a moment alone with him, going to stand where he is, he breifed her quickly with his latest conclusions, his face was expressionless while doing so, her pleading eyes were met with his accusing ones, but none of them allowed it to show, Rima told him about the barrier around the castle as well, it was quite a mystery to them, and there was only one way to solve it..
