The Talentless Sage

Axel walked slowly, now that he is a step ahead from the other kids, he should be able to learn like the rest of them.

By what I meant by step head, I meant that his Bronze Level is already at 2, where the new kids has yet to learn a normal cultivation. I think it's the benefit of a reborn.

He already arrived at the school, where though it is as small as a house; it was still special for the entire village. He stared at the door for a while and opened it...

"Axeeeel!!" A cute voice was heard from the distance. Axel looked behind to see a girl jumping towards him, "Oh no." he fearly mumbled

Luckily, Axel was able to catch Selena mid-flight and didn't fall down, "Looks like I caught you." he smiled and patted Selena's head.

"Are we gonna be classmates?" Selene cheerfully asked. "Of course, there is only one class here." he said. They opened the door to see other kids the same of their age talking to each other.

[They are all level one, as expectedd] Alpheus thought.

Axel observed the class, it looks like there are only six of them this year. It is a small village, it is to be expected of it. Though there should be more the next year.

Because this is a small village, the village only has limited knowledge to share. They should only be able to teach about a simple spirit attack and a cultivation technique.

Axel and Selena went together with their sits and waited for their teacher. While preparing for their class, two students went and gathered around Axel and Selena.

The first to come was a boy with green and flowy hair, "Hi, I'm Klein and I'm defense-type spirit-user!" He greeted in a friendly manner.

The second to come was a boy with dark hair and glasses, "I'm Stan, I'm an offensive-type spirit-user!" He has an attitude of an arrogant genius, this is a pain.

Klein was the energetic kind of guy, he seemed to be friendly though his noiseness is annoying. Stan was like the bookworm of the class, always studying though he shouldn't be able to read a cultivation technique because it's all school property.

[Too bad. I see potential on the both of them, because this is a small village, they lack cultivation techniques] Axel sighed in disappointment.

They were atleast months older than them, if they trained before that; they would have a spirit energy of 10 by now. Such a shame, if only they were born somewhere else.

"Nice to meet you too!" Selena happily greeted Klen and Stan in a friendly gesture. Selena is like the cheerful kid in the classroom, giving positivity on the class. Selena, of course she has her own problem and will talk about that later.

"Ohh, who are those two?" Selena than stood up on the table and pointed at the two students who didn't introduce yet.

The spiky, red-haired guy is just sitting by the window with one hand on his face; looking at the clear and beautiful sky. He glanced at us for a second and just looked away like he didn't care.

The other, who has snow-white hair with braid on each side, is just reading a book. It looks like she is reading herb-type book, [And here I thought Stan was the bookworm type] Axel giggled slightly.

"Oh them?" Klein answered, "That spiky, red-haired guy is Noah. He's an offensive like me!" Klein said while pointing also at himself.

"The other, however." Klein frowned a little, "No matter how much I get close to her, she runs away!" Klein was clearly aggitated while crossing his arms around.

"That girl is Lily, she is a supportive-type" Stan continued while he balanced his glasses, "She's the shy-type."

"Lucky for you, she's not scared of you!" Klein than softly punched Stan a couple times. "Well..." Stan stroked his head.

Axel and Selena, was already having fun by looking at the two. However, a strong aura was felt by Axel coming from the door. "This aura... feels familiar." Axel muttered.

Bang...

The door was forced open, a shadowy figure appeared by the dust that was produced by the door. The others were startled and looked at the door while Axel was already in a position to attack, readying his dagger that he hidden in his back.

The shadow was walking slowly, while the stomps were huge. Then another and another...

"Hi kids!!..." A flimsy man with a grey robe appeared, "I'm your homeroom teacher for this semester!" He shouted as he waved at the students.

"Ehhh." That's why Axel was familiar with the aura, he felt it when he was taking herbs from the forest when he was 8. It was the sage of the village, a low-class of that, [This guy who calls himself a sage is a real shut-in, how could I forget] Axel touched his head in disappointment.

Even though he was a self-renowned sage, he was powerful. He looks youthful but in truth, he's already 37. He is also a Copper Level 6 on such an age, it's already an achievement for someone who lives in a village which has minimum supplies.

[I can't believe he survived as a Sage in this kind of village] Axel was stupified, [I have to give it to him, he's strong-willed]

[I think this guy's name is Mertil, maybe?]

Someone from his level could be traveling to the capital right now and register at their schools which has larger pays but the only thing he answered to the village elder was, "No one other than me could teach the younger generations here, so I will proudly appoint myself as the teacher!" he arrogantly said.

[This sage may be able to this kids some extraordinary spirit skills] Axel slightly smiled, [Let's see how this will turn out.]

He looked one last time at Selena and smiled at her and Selena smiled back, "He's funny!"
