Putting aside the black iron piece, the gold coins, and the parchment pieces he found on the body, the changes shown on the panel had made all his work in the sewers worth it.

Thinking this, Thulhu was almost in tears.

He and Shawn had never had many friends in the university to begin with. Since they started working in the sewers, everyone had been trying to keep a good distance away from them – they stank so bad!

Thulhu had always been a person who liked to be clean. Every time he took a bath, he almost washed his skin off.

And yet he could still catch a whiff of some strange smell.

Maybe it was just his illusion.

Arriving at the library section on languages, Thulhu pulled out some heavy, thick books and sat down at a table.

Before he came, there were a few students studying there. However, as soon as he sat down, they all hurriedly left, especially the girls.

Well… At least it helped him get a spot!

Thulhu opened the first book and started looking for the characters.

He had decided to study the parchment pieces first.

To begin with, he needed to understand the strange characters.

The library at St George’s University was quite comprehensive. He even found a few books on ancient Heber. Although they weren’t great, at least the library had them.

All he had was hope right now.

Ancient Language Study… No!

Twenty-Seven Variations in Huber… That wouldn’t work…

Island Characters and Mysterious Symbols… Wait a second!

After an hour of turning pages, Thulhu finally found a picture in one of the books.

The characters on it looked identical to those on the parchment pieces!

According to the author, the mysterious characters engraved on the stones on Walker Island came from Old Ram, which only existed in some of the rituals performed by jungle tribes.

Old Ram…?

Thulhu compared them carefully, and they were exactly the same.

However…

The author only took pictures. There was no translation at all.

Thulhu then searched the entire library, but found nothing specifically on Old Ram.

After all, it was a minor language.

Thulhu stood up and put back the books. He couldn’t help sighing.

He was very curious about who that person was. It was very likely that they were an extraordinary, and it was such a tragedy that they ended up dying in the sewers.

Who killed the person? For what reason?

Thulhu wondered. Meanwhile, he transcribed the characters from the parchment pieces onto a piece of paper. He was planning on taking this to a linguistics professor.

Although he found nothing useful in the library, perhaps those professors would have something in their own collections.

“This is… Old Ram?”

When Thulhu was copying the characters attentively, he heard a surprised voice.

“Molly?”

Thulhu looked up and saw the shy face. “You know Old Ram?”

“Yes… I’m very interested in ancient languages and I’ve taken some courses on them. One of the professors once mentioned it to us!”

She pushed up her glasses slightly. “It’s said that the language originated with some mysterious past civilization and carried incredible power… ”

Why would Molly come and talk to him?

Thulhu felt it very strange. Last time she saw him, her eyes filled with tears. Thulhu wondered if she had Stockholm syndrome.

As if Molly could read Thulhu’s mind, she hurriedly explained, “Officer Marilyn spoke to me. Now I know you’re innocent. I’m sorry… I thought…”

Her voice got softer and softer. She was too shy to finish her sentence.

“It’s alright. It was just a misunderstanding!” Thulhu said hurriedly.

He then stared at the characters and asked, “Can you please take a look at this for me then?”

“I’ll try…”

Molly walked closer and took a careful look at the characters. “The professor only showed us a few examples. Old Ram is complicated, and it kind of died out because of its complexity. Where did you get this?”

“From an old book…”

Thulhu lied without blinking.

He had only written down some individual characters. Even an expert in ancient languages wouldn’t be able to understand the entire context.

“I only know this one. It means ‘spirit’!”

Molly pointed at a character twisted like a snake. “In that civilization, this character refers to spirits, souls, ghosts and things like that… but I don’t know these other two characters, sorry!”

“Thanks, you’ve helped me a lot!”

Thulhu smiled and nodded. It was already quite something that Molly could recognize one character. Therefore, he asked, “May I know the name of the professor who specializes in Old Ram?”

“She’s my teacher’s good friend, Prof. Alannys!” Molly said right away.

It was her!

Thulhu instantly recalled a mature and elegant lady.

Professor Alannys was a well-known beauty in the university and was still single. Lots of guys found her fascinating.

However, Thulhu’s heart suddenly skipped a beat.

Why did Molly happen to know Old Ram? It was such a coincidence! Also, now the professor was also involved in this…

Thinking this, Thulhu started to regret asking Molly the question.

He had never forgotten the fact that he was still living under the threat of the black shadow. Before he saw Roald Botley, he should be more careful.

He only had one life, so he could always use extra caution.

“Do you need me to ask Prof. Alannys to see if she can help?” Molly, who had no idea what Thulhu was thinking, asked kindly.

“No… no, thanks!”

Thulhu instantly shook his head. “I just happened on these characters by chance in the book. I’m not really planning to dig further.”

He tried to look indifferent to show that he didn’t care at all.

Molly’s smile froze on her face when she saw Thulhu’s attitude. “Al- alright, I see.”
