Although I say it's time to suck some blood, I still have a few tens of points worth of blood lying in my system, so I guess it would be better for me to use them now than later.

System, how many points do I have remaining?

Ding!

________

Impure Blood Energy: 0/22

Stored Impure Blood Energy: 62/200

________

Hmm...62 points. I guess that's enough to improve two of my parts before setting off to find something to suck blood from.

Question is...which two parts should I upgrade first?

Well, first off, I think upgrading my wings first would be pretty nice since it would probably give me a little bit of a speed boost. I guess... I'll just trust my gut feeling and just do it.

Ding!

'Wings (0/1) -> (MAX)'

Whoosh!

Just as a notification resounded in my mind telling me of what I have done, a soft breeze blew through my wings, surprisingly creating a small change to both of my wings. They both feel...lighter?

I don't know how to accurately describe it, but the best description for it would be that it feels like the wings are slightly detached from my torso, reducing my overall weight...figuratively.

With that upgrade out of the way, I only have one upgrade left before having not enough points to upgrade anything else. Since the wings are maxed for the meantime, what other parts from the five remaining ones should I choose?

Well, the limbs and the torso wouldn't really give that much of a significant boost to me since I'm a mosquito. I wouldn't expect a single upgrade to make my body impenetrable to attacks. Then again, I can focus on it in the long run. Having defense is better than having none in the future.

As for my proboscis, also known as my blood s.u.c.k.i.n.g needle, I don't really need to upgrade it as well, considering that I've already evolved my proboscis to its first evolution tier...or that's how I think it works? Anyways, if anything would be upgraded to my needle, it would definitely be its sharpness. Do I need sharpness right now? That would be a solid no.

And now, I'm only left with two possible parts to upgrade in my mind, both going to help me out very much in terms of detection. My eyes and my antennae ears. If I think about it hard enough, they're pretty inseparable. But if I think even harder, I can find reasons why one is better than the other.

Since I'm planning to suck some blood, it would be better to have a form of detection against predators that might be out to eat me. Yep, you've heard me right. Predators.

Now, why would I talk about them at this moment in time? Well that's because I'm not heading back to the village nor to the field of the old couple. As to why, the only significant living beings left in that village that could increase my Constitution are humans. I'm not ready to be slapped to death just yet, you know.

And with that decision, the only logical place would be the wilderness, with the chance of encountering predators being thousands of times more likely than near the village since humans have their own auras that deter predators. I can tell you very well, that their auras are scary once you anger them. Even more so with cultivation.

Okay, back to what I was deciding on. Hmmm...if I upgrade my ears, I would be able to hear more things at once, as well as hear farther than usual. Would it be a great way to detect enemies? Yes, it would, but I suck at pinpointing the origin of sound, so I guess I'll pass.

And with that cancelled out, the only thing left is...my eyes. Well, it's quite logical to pick the eyes. Light is faster than sound by multiple degrees, which is why it's easier to move faster than sound than move faster than light. If moving faster than light was easier, then why haven't humans done it yet?

Not only that, by upgrading my eyes, it would probably increase my reaction time as well. And with that...

Ding!

'Eyes (0/1) -> (MAX)'

I have only four more parts to upgrade before upgrading my physique.

Whoosh!

Just like before with my wings, a soft breeze blew around my eyes. Surprisingly, it did not hurt at all or caused me to blink, but it did make a significant change to how I perceived my surroundings. I could see farther than before, and with my 360 degree vision, this is basically a godly predator radar.

Whoosh! Buzz...

Since I don't have enough points to upgrade my remaining points, it's now time to head towards the wilderness and suck up some blood!

Whirr...

As the winds blew around my body, c.a.r.e.s.sing it along the way to the wilderness, I felt a boost to my speed. To be honest, the difference was very miniscule, but it was still a boost nonetheless.

It took me over 3 hours to head towards the wilderness as it was way farther than I thought. Sometimes, I don't know whether to love my eyes or hate it...or hate the fact that I don't have great depth perception. Either way, I had finally arrived at the wilderness, with the sun's rays shining down directly from the peak of the cloudy sky.

As I pass by the tall trees of the wilderness, I could not help but take in the sight and thank the heavenly being that turned me into a mosquito as I could freely fly wherever I want, whenever I want, allowing me to see a sight unimaginable for normal humans...unless they're of a high cultivation anyway and then they defy f.u.c.k.i.n.g gravity.

I only took a few minutes to savor the sight as I knew that my purpose here in this wilderness was to find a living being to suck blood out of. And so, I dived down into the wilderness, trying to find a nearby water source because water would definitely congregate the blood banks...er, living beings together.

Whoosh!

A few minutes later, I could hear the sounds of water crashing onto rocks, which meant that I was very close to a river! With my antennae as a guide of sorts, I tried to pinpoint the direction of the water, albeit in a very rough manner.

Due to my shitty sense of detecting things by ear, it took me half an hour to arrive at the river, which I can say is very wide for a river in the wilderness. If I had to give it a width, it would probably be around 15 to 20 meters wide.

But before I bask in the sight of the river, I should find an animal first! With my upgraded eyes, I scan through the pathway of the river, flying tens of meters above the river as I don't want to get hit by the water. A few dozen droplets would be enough to drown me for sure.

Around ten minutes passed by before I could really find a decent animal to suck blood from. Near the side of the river was a deer bending its neck down to drink some water. Here's the perfect chance!

Buzz...

Diving down from where I was, it only took me a few seconds to land on the deer's back, pointing my proboscis high up into the sky before...

Poke!

Slurp.

With my blood s.u.c.k.i.n.g efficiency being increased by 5 more points, I could now suck 21 points of blood out of a living being at once! In other words, in ten instances, I would have filled up my storage already. In creepy words, I would have suck up 630 milliliters of blood at once! Ooh...not gonna think about that anymore.

Ding!

'You have absorbed enough blood from a deer, unlocking Deer's Vitality.'

'Deer's Vitality (0/10) -> (2/10)'

'Constitution +0.016'

Well then, it seems that a deer gives more Constitution than a carabao, but less than a horse. Either way, I've only s.u.c.k.e.d a decent amount from the deer, so I only need to suck 4 times the amount to max this Constitution skill out. Would I stop s.u.c.k.i.n.g after maxing it out though?

Nope.

I aim to max out my physique to an acceptable level!

Caw! Caw!

Huh? What did I just hear? Did that come from...a crow?

Swish! Swish!

As this thought surfaced on my mind, I could see the rustling of tree leaves not far away from where I was, revealing a pitch black crow flying up high into the sky.

It then stayed up there in the air for a bit before looking downwards, locking its sights on the deer I was s.u.c.k.i.n.g. Well, to be more exact, it locked its sights on me!

Thankfully, my eyes could see everything, if else, I wouldn't even know that this crow was aiming for me. I removed my proboscis from the deer's back and pointed it upwards towards the crow, who was now at the process of diving down towards where I was.

Of course, how could I just stand on this poor deer's back and wait for my death? This is a good time to test out my new skills!

'Sharp Needle!'

Weeengggg...

As I shouted this command in my mind, I could feel a dark energy enveloping my needle, making it feel like a pitch black spear that radiated sharpness on every side.

Come on crow, I'm gonna poke the shit out of you!
