"Z..." Biting her lower lip, Cora Ma offered an awkward smile as her hand tightened on her lap tightly.

At the same time, Zion Kwan let out a deep sigh as he knew he was sharing this heavy burden with his sister. "Z, I'm sorry for this short notice." He apologized out of guilt.

"Oh my god..." Blinking her eyes, Zoey suddenly checked outside and looked around. Seeing it was clear, she immediately closed the door back and locked it.

"Are you two crazy?!?" As soon as she faced her best friend and brother, Zoey exclaimed as her face slowly revealed her dismay. "Big brother, what were you thinking?!" She ground her teeth as she glared at the person who she was certain had come up with that brilliant idea.

"And you, Ma Cora, how can you agree to this?! Did love blind your judgement?!" Although Zoey was sure this was Zion Kwan's idea, she was disappointed in Cora Ma for agreeing to it.

"Z..." Hanging her head low, Cora Ma called out softly out of shame. She knew that this was wrong.

They were already adults and eloping should be their last resort. However, the desperation in Zion Kwan's eyes earlier was what made her agree. Hence, now they were here.

Meanwhile, Matthew Xi shook his head slightly as he departed the living area without a word. Yet, he didn't go back to the room he was working on, but to the kitchen to make tea.

It would be a long discussion; that, he was well-aware of. After all, from the bits and pieces Zion Kwan told him earlier, Matthew Xi grasped that it was indeed a problem.

Considering the influence of the Kwan's family, they would search for their only son regardless of whatever means they have to take. Obviously, this would also affect Cora Ma. That's just how it was.

On the brighter side, Matthew Xi commended Zion Kwan's clear headedness. Instead of going far away, he chose to go to Zoey's place — a place where Matthew Xi was currently residing. A place the Kwans wouldn't be able to touch!

Smart move, in Matthew Xi's perspective. Well, not that Matthew Xi was bothered by it as he would be willing to help Zoey's brother and best friend.

"Do you know what happened in Mom's house earlier? The Quins were putting pressure on Mom!" Placing her hands on her waist, Zoey glared daggers at Zion Kwan. "You should have told Mom about this beforehand!" She added, recalling how pitiful Sarah Zheng's situation was earlier while quenching the Quin's anger.

"Z, I told them millions of times! I even disagreed on the first family meeting with the Quin's, and yet they pushed it through! Why do you think I have to resort to this?" Zion Kwan argued, stressed and utterly frustrated at how helpless his words were against his parents.

He had been filial and never failed to disappoint them. However, this was only his request yet they wouldn't let him be with the woman he loves! God knows he would trade everything and would never disobey his parents if they just gave him their blessings. After all, this was all he was asking for.

"And you came up with this idea?!" Not a bit amused by her brother's decision, Zoey scoffed in disappointment. "Why the hell would you drag Cora into this? You know what Dad's capable of, right? If he knew that Cora also went missing, he'll chase her down to the end of the Earth!" Zoey pinched her bridge of her nose, pacing back and forth as this was the main reason which concerned her.

It would be fine if Zion Kwan took refuge in her house. After all, only Zion Kwan knew about this villa of hers; the Kwans only knew she lived in the Z Image building. Also, Zoey never flaunted her properties and was proud to keep her location a secret.

However, with Cora Ma involved, the game also changed. Now, the manhunt would not only find Zion Kwan but Cora Ma as well. Knowing how rotten Zachery Kwan was from inside his dignified shell, he'll surely destroy Cora Ma's whole being with his power and influence.

God knows... Cora Ma might have to face a few lawsuits for the things she didn't even do. Even if she was proven innocent, having such messy track records would give Cora Ma a hard time finding a decent company that would accept her.

"Sis, I'm sorry but you have to go home and pretend that this didn't happen. If anyone from our family asks you about my brother's whereabouts, tell them you haven't heard from him!" Shifting her attention to Cora Ma, Zoey slightly frowned as she gave out her instructions.

Zoey had already warned Zachery Kwan not to touch Cora Ma. Thus, she was certain Cora Ma would be safe as Zoey would protect her from the shadows. However, if Cora Ma would go missing with Zion Kwan, Zoey wouldn't be able to stop whatever plans Zachery Kwan had for her friend.

"What? Why are you both silent?" Yet, seeing how Cora Ma hung her head low again while Zion Kwan had a slight change in his expression, Zoey knitted her brows.

"Apparently, they'd been chased earlier because your father's men expected that your brother would go to your friend's place." Since the two weren't answering, Matthew Xi volunteered to answer Zoey's query while carrying cups of tea in a tray.

After he placed the tray down on the small table, Matthew Xi turned and faced Zoey. "In other words, it's too late. Your father must know by now that they're together." In a matter-of-fact tone, Matthew Xi summarized as he shrugged his shoulders indifferently.

"What?!" Gasping in disbelief, Zoey darted her gaze from Zion Kwan and Cora Ma's figure before she redirected her eyes to Matthew Xi. "You, why are you so chill about it? How can we make out if we're not alone?!" Without thinking twice about her words, Zoey pointed at Matthew Xi as she needed an ally in this matter.

Upon hearing her remark, Matthew Xi's eyes darkened as he glanced at Zion Kwan.. 'Go home,' was what his eyes conveyed to Zion Kwan's twitching eyes.
